horsefeathers it. make trades all you want. you post stuff like this every year and then start negotiating while most teams aren't and then the second trades are allowed, boom you have a trade already worked out. so whatever. anyone can trade whenever with whomever. knock yourselves out. i don't know how many slots we have to fill, but it's a lot. maybe 4-5. can everyone post here if they're planning to manage again next year?

Oh it's my choice. The firm is horsefeathering paying for it, not me. They'd pay for the conference hotel.I like sitting in the bar watching whatever sports are on tv at the end of the day. You can't do that as easily in a fancy hotel full of horsefeathers lawyers. But it's SF, none of the hotels are exactly cheap. The only reason I mentioned it is a cubs t-shirt doesn't really stand out if I'm walking through the holiday inn lobby. But I'm glad we've thoroughly dissected another throw away line here.

I think it was specifically about the "expensive hotel" portion of the comment, rather than the hanging with lawyers thing. That's just where the conference is. I'm not staying there.

You think spending 2 days with IP attorneys in the bay area is a humblebrag? You can take my place. You guys think I'm an horsefeathers. Spend a few minutes with folks who regularly do IP work for Google and Apple and see how long you can last before stabbing yourself in the eye

how much would it suck if the mariners made it It'd be amazing. I'd move my flight from Thursday morning to Wednesday in order to get back in time and just cram all my Wed meetings into the morning. And I'd definitely be at game 6 and/or 7.

kanye concerts happen every few years. there will be many playoff games. especially silly division series ones. made these plans and bought the tickets months ago and i'm not gonna bail on a group of 7 other people like some kind of weirdo because i have to watch a baseball game. It's a group of 7 people, they'll be fine. If the NLDS goes 5, I will most certainly be bailing on a concert with 1 other person. Did you stop to consider that David is the one that connects all of this people? Maybe he's the hub. Maybe all of their connections are routed through him.

Jason Mcleod will soon be a GM of a MLB team. If he wanted to leave, he probably would already be a GM. In the meantime, he gets paid a ton of money to possibly help the Cubs win their first WS in over a hundred years. I don't think there's any reason to feel bad for him.
