  1. I still think over a full season of regular ABs, Cedeno gives you more upside than Theriot and with our offense, it's a risk I'd take. So I disagree with you. But I really don't want to get into that discussion again.
  2. Dear Baltimore: Please take a Lee, his bad contract, and a steaming pile of crap and give us your three best players. Deal? Your point stands, but did Nick Markakis get run over a car in your scenario?
  3. Your second sentence is exactly what I want and your first post is exactly why it won't happen. Seriously, if the Cubs can move Lee and have a legit shot at Tex, they'd be stupid not to pursue it. Who views him as the team leader? I know some fans do, but does Hendry, Lou, others in management? Maybe he's different in the clubhouse than what we see and read, but he doesn't seem to be the leader of the team in my opinion. He doesn't even strike me as the quiet, lead by example type.
  4. FIXED The funny thing is had Lee not had that insane 2005, nobody would have been dissapointed with him this year, as this years stats are more along the lines of his career numbers than 2005. I know, he was in less hitter friendly parks, but I cant see that having that drastic of an effect as 2005. He also wouldn't have received the contract he signed in '06, which included a full NTC (or, at least, I'd hope not). So he'd be a lot easier to trade to open a spot for a better hitting 1B.
  5. What are your thoughts on wOBA? I admittedly haven't read much on it, but can you give your perception of its value as an evaluation tool?
  6. The way I understand it is if you chose the print at home option, your credit card will automatically be refunded minus any fees. yeah, I skimmed it too quickly the first time. I think that's right.
  7. so I have to print my e-tickets and send them to the Cubs to get a refund? The Cubs are killing trees for no purpose whatsoever? If I cared more about the environment, I'd be even more pissed.
  8. even if you view that as a trendline, it'd take over 5 years for him to drop to the .860 level 14 years from now he'll have withered away to an 800 OPS at this pace! of course i'm being absurdist, but i have absolutely no clue how you came up with an arbitrary figure like .860-.870 yeah, if you look at other stats, like EqA, he's actually improved slightly each of the last 2 seasons.
  9. there's at least 1, if not more, thread discussing almost this exact same thing in Transactions.
  10. I'd sell it now for $300 and then try to get lucky with the late releases like the NLDS.
  11. The window will flash and you should get a popup. If you did custom, you can also have the window come to the front, though that doesn't always seem to work. You won't have to pay any attention to it, really. Thanks. When we make the NLCS and WS, I hope you provide the links to the tickets for those games too. I'm just going to leave them open in the background since I sit at my desk 10-12 hours a day.
  12. So I implemented check4change this time - does the title of the tab change or do you have to keep those tabs open?
  13. You keep ignoring the obvious. I admit, you are better than I am. Then why are you smiling? Because I know something you don't. What is that? I...am not left-handed...
  14. I'm guessing it involves unspeakable acts with Alyssa Milano, so you're probably right.
  15. is the eagle crying?
  16. do you have better luck with "best available" or by picking one of the options? I keep getting 2 options for game 1 and a bunch of options for game 2, but can't get any to reserve. you're killing me jon
  17. I've gotten to the password about 6 times but keep getting kicked out
  18. I tried but can't get anything to reserve
  19. imb ran that the first year and I ran it next year. We've never been able to get more than 8 teams and even those that join bailed early. If someone wants to run with it this year, I can find the teams from my Y! profile, but as I recall, last year the draft even got screwed up b/c people didn't draft their "keepers" as they were supposed to.
  20. You're bragging about your ability to get yourself into the playoffs (which means you paid attention all year, unlike probably 2/3 to 1/2 of the teams) and then add/drop as many SPs (or other players, if nec) as you need to "win" a public H2H league? cheers?
  21. He's also much better when he doesn't take a huge dump on the field during the entire month of September.
  22. I was 6 or 7 years old. I don't remember anything about it, sadly. But I went to at least 1 game a year for about 5 years (for a kid from small town Iowa, that was a big deal) and had an uncle with connections so we sat 2 rows behind the visitors dug out. I have some great memories (including some great pictures of Strawberry), but not of the first game.
  23. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ticketing/postseason.jsp Just got a pair as well. Section 305, Row 11. Can someone tell me where in the bleachers 305 is? Left center field Nice, best seats in the house. Yeah, mine are 305, row 18 Are bleachers not first come, first serve in the playoffs? I just got 305/16
  24. So if I can't make it, I can find someone to take these, right?
