  1. that's what I meant before about wanting BQ to fall in the draft. But if a crap teams trades back in to get you at 20, you're better off going to that crap team at 5.
  2. That's a cheap confidentiality agreement. you can probably buy one online for about that much.
  3. He apparently paid one of them $10 to sign a confidentiality agreement. I'm guessing most people would take $10m to not have to have Tiger's baby.
  4. He's our first legit NFL prospect in years. LEAVE US ALONE
  5. other than the specific nature of those texts (which can only be somewhat surprising), I thought this was all old news. I know the whole two abortion thing was. Two abortions? One isn't even believable let alone two. How much would this person stand to receive in child support by having Tiger Woods' love child? not all women, even sluts, necessarily want to become mothers for money.
  6. I did, but what's your point? I also read the rest of that post and your previous post, where you conclude that you wouldn't draft him in the top 10 b/c you don't think he can succeed in the NFL. If you didn't agree with it, why would you add that comment in implicit support of your ultimate conclusion?
  7. There are also people complaining that even with all the weapons he had that he didn't win more games. Clausen is a better QB than Quinn was. I always like guys that are that highly regarded coming out of highschool, assuming they didn't fall flat on their faces academically, athletically, or character wise. If Clausen wasn't a QB, his maturity and attitude would not be in question at all. It's because he is going to be given charge of an NFL huddle with more experienced players (at some point) that every thing he does has been under scrutiny for 3 years. That being said, I wouldn't pick Clausen if I was in the top 10. I don't think he's anywhere near as good as I have seen at the college level. He can make all the throws, I just worry about his ability to do so against good NFL defenses. yeah, all those 1000-yard RB were a great help to him. And that O-line chock full of future NFL stars. He had it easy. come on raw, that's a little ridiculous. Clausen didn't have weapons. Golden Tate became a great WR last year, but he was worthless for anything other than go routes in 2007. Floyd is very talented, but young and has had significant injuries each of in his 2 years. Rudolph is a very good receiving TE, but in '08 he couldn't block to save his life. His OL was porous when he was a freshman and became barely passable by the time he was a junior. No RB ever ran for more than 700 yards when Clausen was there. No RB had a single run of more than 27 yards when he was there. No RB had more than 5 TDs. I don't know how anyone can saw Clausen was surrounded by weapons with a straight face. There's a lot of young talent on the roster now, but in 2007, ND had as many scholarship players as they would have under the "death penalty." Some of his teammates may not have liked his competitiveness. But Clausen came to ND to be coached by Weis and play at the next level. I don't think everyone that signed up to play at ND in the last several years necessarily had the same drive. Kelly's biggest complaint about the team upon getting to ND was their attitude/toughness. If this weren't ND, he probably would have cut several players before spring practice.
  8. I don't think anyone with a national voice likes the guy except for Mel Kiper. I understand why teams are nervous about him, but for teams like Washington it would be hard to pass on him. He really must have sucked it up during the interview process. The problem is everyone that knew him at ND has mentioned issues with his maturity, leadership, and sense of entitlement. Whether it is true or not, what I am hearing is that he's a guy that came on campus as a freshman and acted like he owned the campus. I do know that he made his announcement he was attending ND after stepping out of a stretch Hummer, but that was 3-4 years ago. Also there are rumors of reasons that the guy punched him outside a restaurant late in the season. really? everyone? I've seen a lot of stories from teammates that thought very highly of him. and he did own the campus from the moment he stepped onto it. He had to. He was the only QB on the roster worth a [expletive]. He got sacked 58 times as a freshman. you don't get up after 50+ sacks if you don't have some ego. I'd say I hope he falls but i said that with Quinn and then the Browns traded back in to get him, which is the worst of both worlds (I know it was his favorite team growing up, but it was a disaster for him).
  9. trade morneau or votto for a better 3B or pitching.
  10. This is a pretty ridiculous topic.
  11. you give yourself too much credit. it's a media story no matter what team he's with.
  12. picking a side in that battle is like trying to decide whether to cheer for the Yankees or Red Sox in a playoff series.
  13. how did you get kemp, howard, and hanley in the same 10 team league? those guys all average first round picks in yahoo leagues Has to be a 10-team auction draft.
  14. yeah, that might be the worst 10-team-league team I've seen. Your pitching staff is scary bad and Peralta shouldn't be on a 10-team roster.
  15. that's awfully vague. Is it a 5x5 league (the standard 10 categories, 5 pitching, 5 hitting: W, saves, Ks, ERA, WHIP and AVG, R, HR, RBI, SB)? Is it roto or head to head? How many teams in the league? Some fantasy baseball "experts" will say "don't pay for saves" (i.e., don't spend high draft picks on closers like Rivera, Nathan, etc). I tend to follow that strategy in most drafts. This year, there is a lot of depth at SP, so unless this is a really deep league (lots of teams or big rosters) you can probably get great value at SP in the late rounds. I think there are also a lot of cheap SBs out there, so you probably don't need to spend a high pick on a guy that doesn't excel at anything but SBs. The shallow positions tend to be 2B, 3B and SS. Seems most people will take one of the top players at those positions (ARod, Longoria, Wright, HRam, Tulo, Utley) in the first or early second rounds, but not reach for the next tier at any of those positions. Some people will reach for a C but if there are 12 or fewer teams, your high picks are probably better spent in other areas and then taking one of the many passable Cs late in the draft. If none of the managers has any experience, you're probably fine just picking a strategy of some sort and seeing how it works out. If it's like 90% of the leagues I've been in, half the teams will have stopped paying attention by June, especially if they're all first timers.
  16. Not everyone has to be alive either, buddy
  17. I generally agree. I think it's hard to agree with him that "everything went our way" in the last decade - the Prior disaster and the booted DP ball were killers. But the article wasn't bad.
  18. leitch wrote one recently about his getting to know ebert and then being a dick to him when he was writing for some website.
  19. b/c of its connection to Dukes of Hazard Dukes of Hazzard is awesome. I'm just trying to figure out why we would censor that word.
  20. b/c of its connection to Dukes of Hazard
  21. (assuming the texts are even real) my favorite part was the end (in October) where he blames her for almost ruining his life. what a douche.
  22. I sure hope not. why would mlb waste time and money testing players for recreational drugs?
