  1. Did you read the 10 posts on this picture? A simple "Yes" would have required fewer keystrokes. And actually, you know, helped. If I did that, he wouldn't learn nothing.

  3. I don't understand this argument. Why aren't runs prevented, you know, really prevented? Is inability to properly attribute them to specific players?
  4. Toronto is a pretty diverse multi-cultural city. It's not Kansas City. But it's still Canada. Could be much much worse for him.
  5. A little bit too much information. But yeah, I lived right by the Black Duck for about 10 years. Wow. My sister lived around the corner from you for a couple years. It's a great area and I miss it. I was there recently and noticed Sam's Wine and Spirits is now a Binny's? That was such a bummer to see. I haven't been in that area probably since she left. And my trips to Chicago are incredibly infrequent now and for the foreseeable future.
  6. A little bit too much information. But yeah, I lived right by the Black Duck for about 10 years. Wow. My sister lived around the corner from you for a couple years. Ugh, this is terrifying; I live right down the street from there. She doesn't live anywhere near there now. Hasn't for probably 5-6 years.
  7. Longer than what the law in NY allows. What's so unrealistic about it? A person who routinely rapes a 10 year old does so with the knowledge that they can essentially scare the person into not telling on them. Expecting that person to come forward within a couple years is crazy. The SOL is practically a weapon used by the perpetrator. If you can go back and use new evidence from murders long ago, why the heck is it unrealistic to do so with child rape? What new evidence? You mean DNA evidence? If there were some new DNA evidence in an old rape case, that's a different situation. You were suggesting that the SOL be effectively 25 years in all child molestation cases. The expectation isn't that they'll come forward in 2 years, as you just said. I don't know what the NY law is, but it's not 2 years. It's also not 25. Neither of those is realistic.

  9. I would think 15-20 from the time they turn 18. It's not reasonable to expect a 12 year old victim to press charges by the time he's 25, or whatever the hell needed to happen to make this stick. So effectively 25+ years from any alleged incident? I know it sounds good here. Any time there's a crime, the SOL seems like it should extend to whenever a charge is brought. But 25 years is a long time for witnesses to remember stuff and evidence to sit around. You aren't talking about any old crime. Raping a kid who stands very little chance of testifying against his abuser any sooner demands a longer period of time. Longer than what? Saying the SOL should be "longer" goes to my point above - it seems like it should last until a claim is brought. It's just not realistic to have a 25 year SOL.
  10. Some would argue that OC at Auburn was a better gig. Maybe he knows something we don't and just wanted to get the F out of Dodge. It's a really weird move to me. Never question a coach's desire to be the head coach. I don't. I just assumed he could get a better gig than a school I didn't know existed.

  12. I no longer want the cubs to sign him.
  13. Malzahn to...Arkansas St?
  14. Ramirez thought he could do better than 1 year and 16 million in free agency. He got 2/20 with an option for 3/32, so I guess he was right? the mutual option is for a 4th year. he got 3 for 32 with a mutual option for a 4th year that doesn't appear to be disclosed, but if it's declined by the team he gets an additional $4M It's 3/36 bc that $4m is guaranteed. What if the Brewers pick up the option but he declines it? Oops, misread the option.
  15. Probably not, in part because our douchebag color commentator was allowed to launch on him constantly and no one from the front office bothered to call him out on it. and also in part because the first thing our new gm did was pass on his option [EDIT i'm an idiot, ignore that part. we picked up the option and offered arb knowing aramis would choose free agency] and, at least to all outward appearances, make no effort whatsoever to even talk to him about coming back. it's certainly possible that we considered bringing aramis back and it never leaked and his agent was too lazy to mention it an effort to up his value, but it looks more like we weren't interested in aramis at any price. and at this price, i think that was a mistake. if hendry were here, we'd all be talking about how he was infatuated with stewart and stupidly wanted to trust his scouts and find a diamond in the rough instead of just spending a very reasonable sum of money on a player who has actually had good and great seasons. but i suppose such apocrypha are only to used to describe the inner workings of front offices we don't have cute nicknames for. Boy, one false step and the whole stack of cards comes down. Nice anti-jebadore rant though.

  17. You'd [expletive] a plugged in toaster with a tin foil condom. Why would you need a condom? And I don't think tin foil would be very effective at preventing the exchange of fluid...lol.
  18. Is that saying he was only on 2nd 12 times when a single was hit. That seems insanely low to me.
  19. i assume that you have been extremely wealthy and therefore are able to make judgments about what is and is not stressful for people who have a lot of money? because it sure sounds like you have perspective that none of us have. We all have "stressful" situations in life but I understand my problems are not as bad as what some people are going through. It doesn't mean they are not stressful to me, but I carefully chose my words when talking about them to other people. Did Mrs. Pujols show any empathy toward the employees of the restaurant who will lose their jobs if it closes? Again, perspective is a key word. I think it is funny that you have no problem judging my comments but have a problem with how I judge the comments of Mrs. Pujols. Funny. I thought she sounded self-important and whatever but you're so over-the-top in attacking her that I almost want to defend her.
  20. It is when your stated goal is to acquire assets. Unequivocally wrong. Maybe if we always have backtobanks working on the deals. I'm baffled here, jersey. You don't think you can acquire assets in a trade? Even if it's not a windfall, you can trade from strength or quantity to acquire assets to fill a need or lack of quality. Your posts on this issue are indefensible.
  21. Pretty much. Prosecution was going to hear from what, 8 victims? I thought I read 11 but the point is the same.
  22. In this case it means more stories about his rapey behavior.
  23. You will notice that Alonzo has been the target of many of my trade proposals. I think he's a younger (and thinner) Fielder. A top ten prospect instead of Heisey would be fine, but I agree with TT that Leake isn't a front end starter but a solid rotation guy for many years. Instead of prospects (from other rumors about a Garza trade), we would be getting at least 2 young players that could help starting next year. Of course, the only down side is that Garza would be in our division. I wouldn't say that's the only downside.
