  1. ESPN apologizes for Musburger's fascination: "We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that."
  2. They have room if he isn't an EE. Or more accurately, will have room next fall when a few others are pushed out. He is mad bc he jumped thru hoops to EE at Kiffen's request and then got told to push it back. Understandable but I'm surprised more recruits for USC wouldn't know the game when they sign on.
  3. They're at 75 and with Leon jumping in this weekend, they couldn't take him as an EE. They need the spring/summer to trim a couple more spots.
  4. Grrr, Ohio State would have been destroyed by Alabama too. Five teams in the final Top 10. We own college football. A mizzou fan using the SEC to troll. Awesome.
  5. Oh that's delicious. That girl has a bright future.
  6. I didn't realize AJ's gf was Miss Alabama and started dating him just recently. Very well played. Its the smarter version of the Kim Kardashian plan to get famous.
  7. I'm saying that a team winning 3-4 consecutive 1 game playoffs has proved they're of sufficient quality to belong in the playoffs as a whole, and that if you made the cutoff at 12 games that those teams wouldn't have been in. In cfb, if you dilute the field sufficiently, there will be any number of teams, maybe 15+, maybe 20 in some years, that could run off 3-4 wins against each other. I don't understand the point of giving 3-loss teams a chance at the title. Expand the playoffs and you're going to have even worse OOC scheduling as teams aim for a 10-win season. I think if you make teams start playing 12 actual quality teams over 13 weeks, there will be fewer 10-win teams. And expanded playoff doesn't get you there.
  8. Are we talking NFL or cfb? They're two completely different animals. BTW-you're not truly relying on a team winning 3-4 consecutive 1-game playoffs to support the need to expand the playoffs are you? You know this is flawed logic.
  9. There are like 2 bowls in the 12/15-12/20 range. I don't know how many teams have this issue, I'd guess many of them, but ND simply won't play a 12/15 game b/c it's the weekend between finals. I can't imagine taking a week off and then playing 4 more games that start the weekend of finals and run through Christmas and New Years weekends. Also, with all the head injury issues, I just can't see the NCAA going to a 16-17 game schedule for the teams that make it every year.
  10. That won't make the title game any more or less likely to be a good game (see the men's basketball tournament). Well not necessarily but it might lead to more interesting match ups on the way there I want my 16 team playoff, friends ND vs Nebraska, Alabama vs N. Illinois, Florida vs. Clemson, et al? I'm not really a fan of going past 4. 16 would be a waste of time. I don't quite get that line of thinking. It's not like MLB or NBA where we have a real good idea about the quality of the top teams. Just look at how much the standings change between Week 13 and Week 17 of the NFL season. How are you going to add 4 games when you can't play for 3 weeks in December? Or are we just going to formally excuse players from finals?
  11. You both don't think a bcs title is likely but that 9-10 wins is more likely than 8. A 10-win ND goes to a BCS game so you are closer to agreeing than not. You're oversimplifying both sides of the argument. I'm also not being hyperbolic.

  13. They already did. You get really weird about nd.
  14. Of course you do. You think 8 wins is more likely? No. I just don't think it's pretty unlikely Notre Dame wins 8 games next year. They're more likely to have 9-10 wins but all it takes is one off day or an opponent playing the game of it's life away from 8 wins and no BCS game. This year, they were on the other side of the coin (and they could be next year also). Bama was a couple plays away from losing the LSU and Georgia games this year. If one of those goes the other way, they're not playing today. So you both agree. Why are you arguing?
  15. I think Carlo comes back for a 5th year and plays in the middle...not crazy about it, but I think that's what happens...Jaylon will immediately upgrade the outside backer position, so I don't think we take a huge hit. We just really need our secondary to make strides. Slaughter may be coming back and, if healthy, it helps a lot. Fox and Grace in the middle. Smith and Anzalone will be in the rotation outside and inside but I don't think either starts. I do want Carlo back for depth. Only KLM, Motta and the most decorated player ever come off the defense so that will be fun.
  16. Great year. Really excited for next year. Hope someone can play MLB but lots coming back everywhere else.
  17. Of course you do. You think 8 wins is more likely?
  18. Soon. Stay up and learn the words. Will make you a better man.
  19. Amazing. Up 28. You haven't been sacked or even hit all night. Where do you get off?
  20. Love Jones
  21. Kirk is pleased that Bama is blitzing and throwing deep passes. That ND bias is tough to take.
  22. On the plus side, smack lost money on this
  23. Sly Stalone looks rough
  24. Cue the OL tackling the backup DT
  25. Tuitt knocked Lacy clean off his feet
