  1. And me having just wasted the Gruden joke. There's gotta be more. I figured you had a folder full of them. More like a binder full
  2. Which international FAs are available in the major league draft? I think last year we decided that the commissioner should ultimately just make a determination before the draft.
  3. Not sure what the hardship would be. He'd be moving further from home. Unless he knocked up some girl in Knoxville, though that didn't work for Lynch.
  4. I haven't heard any new rumors. I think most ND fans assume a QB transfer this spring since Golson has a lock on the starting job for 2-3 years. Kiel makes the most sense as he's probably ready to play. Hendrix is limited by inaccuracy and he's pre-med so he seems less likely to leave. Rees is limited by talent and could very well have a GA position waiting for him when he graduates next year so he seems unlikely too. Golson isn't leaving and we've got another 4* that will sign this year. I hate to lose Kiel, but he seems like the most likely candidate. TN makes sense as it's relatively close to Indy. Is there much on the depth chart?
  5. It's almost as if this guy and his lawyer aren't trustworthy.
  6. On the plus side, Louis Nix continues to be awesome.
  7. Here's a story with some nice quotes from a recruit about his weekend visit to ND. Interesting since he never made the trip. Even after the reporter found out the kid didn't take the visit and called the kid, he maintains that he enjoyed the visit and seeing other recruits...who deny seeing him. http://notredame.247sports.com/Article/2014-APB-Stanley-Williams-Recaps-Notre-Dame-visit-112371 Oh Jesus. Is the school even real?
  8. Brant Brown does not share your hope
  9. The guy called to apologize. I mean. What else do you need?
  10. So suspicious that he doesn't want his public humiliation to be at the top of the news, you're right. just like pulling off a bandaid. this douche/gullible idiot/douchey-gullible idiot or whatever he is at this point just needs to get it over with and take his beating. We Americans won't be done with him until he tearfully apologizes to his family and fans and then enters some sort of rehab. "We Americans"? You're bordering on psychotic.
  11. It still seems really weird that you'd mention it along with your REAL dead relatives. This is what they quoted him as saying after Dec. 6th: Regardless of whether the GF thing was a hoax, that's a pretty bold stance for Teo to take towards cancer. I've said all along he's a good kid. I think this statement solidifies that point. I'm sure he was lonely out on that limb at times.
  12. It still seems really weird that you'd mention it along with your REAL dead relatives. This is what they quoted him as saying after Dec. 6th: Looks bad. But he thought the Dec call was a joke/prank. Sounds like there were several calls in early Dec before he figured out those calls were the truth and all the other stuff was a huge hoax. He def kept up with the gf thing in Jan when he knew the truth. Had to say what's the best play for him then.
  13. Roniah is doing some interview here he confesses to being behind the hoax, that Te'o didn't know...at least at the beginning. Caught something about it on the radio. Right. Calling a guy that befriended people to hoax them a "friend" is weird. The families knew each other but this guy did this to multiple people.
  14. I'm just glad he graduated so the Stanford band can't play "She's not there" every time he makes (or misses) a tackle.
  15. Forde's article today is interesting. The dumbest thing Te'o did in a series of dumb things was let his agent sit on this for 2 weeks.
  16. Oh did your predecessor trade Tim Lincecum (before he sucked) to [expletive] Adam for Dom Brown (after he sucked)? No? Then quit yer bitchin I'm sure Tim will hook you up with Wellington Castillo on the cheap.
  17. In your defense, had your team been allowed to keep all the players that were already drafted when Karen picked them, you'd be pretty good
  18. for some reason, i had it in my head that this girl was in hawaii the whole time following the accident, while getting leukemia treatment, etc. then i realized she was allegedly in california. i also didn't realize the accident apparently occurred 8 months before she died of cancer. so the love of his life almost dies in a car accident and begins undergoing treatment for leukemia over the span of 8-9 months and te'o doesn't go see her. and apparently the car accident occurs 8 months before she "died of cancer," which means it was in january, which means te'o had nothing but time on his hands after the 2011 football season was over. and he doesn't go visit her. sociopath seems more likely than gullible to me at this point. or [expletive] boyfriend ever. She told him she was in a car accident about 3 months after they started corresponding (email, twitter, phone, whatever). that's not my understanding of the timeline. so in june 2012, she's still recovering from her car accident injuries. she clearly was "dating" te'o by this point, correct? yeah, he thought they were in whatever relationship they were in by june. he wasn't dating her or whatever when she got in the accident. who knows how much of a relationship te'o thought they were in. the SBT did pull the story with a lot of talk about them being a couple, some of which wasn't directly sourced to anyone. whether that's b/c they think they were duped or b/c they took some poetic license with the info they had, i don't know.

She told him she was in a car accident about 3 months after they started corresponding (email, twitter, phone, whatever). the car accident is the hook the the catfish game. he's on the line, now she gets cancer and it's over. he's going to spend the next several months emailing, talking on the phone, texting, and setting up meetings in Hawaii that she doesn't make and then excuses. yes, if you think she's in hawaii and he never sees her or that they've been dating 4 years before she's in a car accident, etc., if those are the facts, it's hard to believe he's that gullible. But that's never been the story.
  20. It is absolutely possible that he's involved. I'm interested to see what Te'o says in his PC and what the guy behind the twitter account says tomorrow (if that's real). But literally no one has come up with a reasonable justification for committing career suicide and Te'o duping everyone. The guy [expletive] got a message from a family whose daughter was dying of cancer and sent them a long email back about coping with a loved one dying of cancer. I mean, jesus. Why wouldn't he just ignore it if he was making it up? They never expected a response. how much of a sociopath do you have to be to [expletive] with the family of a girl dying of cancer? It just seems much more likely that he was gullible. Why isn't reasonable that he's just a damaged human being? Why isn't it reasonable that someone with his background would go to desperate lengths to hide his sexuality? Why do you think gullibility is so realistic but a student athlete making stupid decisions isn't? b/c making a stupid decision doesn't begin to describe the fraud he would have perpetrated against many, many people. Te'o's personality was described long before this as sincere and naive. Maybe he's a sociopath and duped everyone he's ever met. That seems less likely to me based on the information that's come out. Still seems more likely than the ever increasing gang of people who you are suggesting somehow pulled this off without letting anything slip. Maybe he's so sincere and naive (and dense) he didn't realize the harm that he would cause. He doesn't have to be the monster you keep trying to paint him as to have pulled this off or to have been involved, especially if it was a matter of hiding his sexuality. I'm sure it wouldn't have been difficult to convince himself "hey, who's really gonna get hurt? She doesn't really exist!" Doing stuff like talking to a little girl with cancer could have just been a way of him justifying the lie by doing something good. It's hardly the long shot you so badly want it to be for him to have been involved in this. ever increasing? what are you talking about? if he wanted to make a woman no one has met disappear, break up with her. how many guys haven't had an out of town gf they suddenly broke up with. why make it a death? why respond with personal stories to the parents of the little girl with cancer? he could cover up being gay without going this far and it would be more reasonable (and it wouldn't become a huge story that would bring with it questions about his sexuality). you think it wouldn't be hard to convince himself that no one would be hurt by faking a death of a gf 2 days after his grandma died? this guy was interviewed by local and national media every month. why fake a death of a person that doesn't exist when someone somewhere will start looking for her? If we going with the simplest solution, this isn't it.
