  1. Gary Gaetti showed such promise at first too... The Rat! One of the greatest nicknames ever! I thought Mickey Morandini was the rat. He looked like one to me anyway.
  2. I thought only the Cubs fans treated their players that way? Guess some people were wrong. The only fans that don't act like that are Cardinals fans, because as everyone knows they are TBFIB.
  3. hmmmmm, no idea but it doesn't sound good for the Brewers! Hit by a line drive. They say Yost took him out as a precaution Found it on Yahoo, says right calf contusion.
  4. Anybody know why Capuano left after 3 IP in Milwaukee?
  5. Who's John Dewan? Author of The Fielding Bible and baseball statistics guru/luminary. He's a candle in a bag???
  6. Good news is, he didn't walk anybody in front of him so it's only tied. That's not too glass half full is it?
  7. Yeah I fixed it. Let me know if the new one is too big.
  8. Bill Hall apparently just stole home in the Brewers Cards game. Stupid Reyes.
  9. Wow, how do you hit doubles this often? Gotta just be a matter of time before they start going out.
  10. Take out Izturis in favor of DeRo and I'd take this lineup every day, especially the order set up the way it is.
  11. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Go home Pirate fan!!!!!
  12. Huh? Arm is the only one I see. Toe, knee, arm, a**. Duh! Yeah, took me a minute and I almost feel bad that I saw it.
  13. These same questions have to be asked at least weekly. Well, that's because some of us don't live a block from Wrigley or frequent Wrigleyville on a regular basis. Also, the people on this board tend to be knowledgeable and helpful in such areas.
  14. As a Cubs fan living in St. Louis, I have to agree with wolf here. Miklasz is definitely one of the least homerish P-D writers and one of the few guys on sports radio down here that will call out the Cardinals when they deserve it and pat them on the back when they deserve it. May have to do with the fact that he's originally from somewhere other than here. In general (there are a few exception) sports guys down here are either total homers or they just bring up ridiculous crap all the time to critcize the home teams whether it's deserved or not. There are really only about 2 sports shows I can stand to listen to and Miklasz's is one of them. I was really hoping he and Tony would get into it and he would just fall on Tony and crush him or something so I wouldn't have to listen to his whiny a** for a while.
  15. Going to the game today. Terrace box, 1st base side. Hopefully we can have a non-suck fest from Z today.
  16. I think it's a fine idea if you can get him to do a deal for maybe $2-3 Mil a year for the 3-4 years. Especially if there is some way to be sure it would be covered by insurance so as not to affect payroll to other guys you might need if he doesn't pan out. But if it doesn't, that would just give us one more thing to p&m about.
  17. He's already playing SS. If DERO goes down that means Izturis or Cedeno in the lineup I meant if something was broke. He'd pretty much be guaranteed to play almost every day. Yeah, me too. The way Lou sounded today, Theriot will be playing SS unless he proves he can't... How has he looked today, by the way?
  18. Rotator cuff is easier to come back from than labrum surgery because there is more bone to attach to and more to work with in the back of the shoulder as opposed to the labrum which is what hold together the whole front of the shoulder. It's often tough to get full range of motion back after labrum repair and that greatly affects velocity because that comes from external rotation of the shoulder which is what loss of range of motion affects. Sorry to get all medical, but that's generally what the problem is when guys come back with lost velocity.
  19. Chris Carpenter No he had TJS. I don't remember him having TJS, but I know he missed a season with a torn labrum. My bad, looked it up. I thought he had TJS but apparently he had 2 different shoulder surgeries. Him and Guzman are the only 2 that come to mind that came back with good velocity after having a major shoulder operation.
