  1. Thank you kindly good sir! Nothing like spoiling a 4 yr old for her first ever baseball game!
  2. If he's been moved there to see if he can be effective out of the pen, I'm fine with that. His less than stellar results as a starter warrant a look in the pen and as bad and hurt as the ML pen is, no reason not to give him a shot.
  3. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed his rather large posterior!
  4. Is that what you mean by "SWING THE [expletive] BAT"?
  5. I continue to be truly amazed at how many hard hit balls the infield gets hit right at them. This defensive positioning stuff is either completely amazing or they've just been unbelievably lucky so far.
  6. Is Mather at 3B and Baker in RF actually a better defensive alignment? Do you mean Baker at 3rd and Mather in right? I'm surprised it isn't that way. I thought Baker was the better/more experienced guy in the infield.
  7. No, he was a douche, he just did it quietly and it got overlooked because he was so good at baseball. He's really kind of an ass and has proven it on multiple occasions. Examples? Refusal to sign any autograph unless it's for money for one. There's been a lot of stuff that has rubbed media types (rational ones, not the PC police types) the wrong way over the years. Like SSR said though, he's a professional athlete. I don't think he's some awful human being, he's just not the classy type he wants you to think he is.

  9. Those were all dumb, but I kind of agree with this one. Note that I said kind of before you destroy me.
  10. Hasn't Noah only missed 1 game, or do you mean Rose? Noah got hurt during Game 3.
  11. well his knee is blown out. can a guy really pitch with a torn acl? if he undergoes surgery his season is definitely over. he'd be 43 next year. the question isn't really if he's still good enough, because he definitely is and probably could go until he's 50, but it sounded like this might be his last year. In my defense, the post above mine went up while I was typing so I didn't know he'd been diagnosed with the torn ACL. And no, there's no way you could pitch with a torn ACL. That ligament stabilizes your knee when you're making any kind of lateral movement, so he would probably fall down every time he tried to push off the rubber.
  12. I don't know how Cespedes 4/36 contract will end up looking in the long run, but the 3/21 contract to Josh Willingham is looking pretty good. He's at .305/.418/.598 thus far. He might not keep up that pace, but he's pretty much always been a mid .800s OPS guy and his D is pretty much on par with Sorianos. How is that relevant to the Cubs in any way?
  13. I have faith they'll do something interesting to sneak into that 14% of the time you don't score with the bases loaded and nobody out.
  14. Love the [expletive] eating grin on his face at second!
  15. Bottom of the 9th with a chance to win and a reasonably fast runner? I've seen a lot worse sends than that. Castro and LaHair coming up makes it worse, but not a terrible send IMO.
  16. Chris Davis just got the win for Baltimore against Boston. 0 for 7 with 6 Ks and 2 IP with 0 runs allowed.
  17. If he was so great he would have helped himself out. It's just frustrating that guys in front of him and behind him aren't doing much of anything. Soriano cannot move him over at the least. There's a K :( If he was so great he would have to rely on other guys to move him over, much less drive him home. What I'm saying is that he's a bum. LaHair is a big fat bum unless he hits a home run every time he comes to the plate. I hope you don't poop in his spot in the dugout too.
  18. Volstad to pen, Lendy to Iowa, Cardenas up He can't go to Iowa without trading for him.
  19. I don't. Wood will be fine. You're losing credibility fast with me, buddy. You better get it turned around!
  20. I kinda wish we still had Marshall instead of bad Marmol, Wood, and a 4th outfielder.
  21. My thought was "Damn, Pena would have picked that easily".
  22. Turning point of the season. :-$ I don't think that works unless you kick your hat around the diamond! :D
  23. He's not due up until 7th unless the Dodgers get to cheat.
