  1. Is there any way to see how many of those are fielding vs. throwing? The throwing errors would seem to be something much more easily corrected with some work on mechanics/footwork and based on what I saw out of him last year, actually catching the ball shouldn't be an issue.
  2. Delicious!
  3. I caught the end of their game the other night and saw him smoke a double up against the wall. I wasn't impressed by his athleticism as he ran the bases. He looks almost awkward running, kind of herky jerky, but that may be because he's very tall and lean. I'm sure he has some filling out to do, but he's built much more like Werth than Glaus right now.
  4. I was amused yesterday watching the game by the fact that it wasn't anything the Cubs did right that won them the game, it was all failings of the Sox. Morons.
  5. Make that two walks. His up to the minute line: 69 PAs, 274/348/452 10.1% BB, 13.0% K I know it's not normalized over that few PA, but how's the BABIP?
  6. Because you're a Bulls fan. I hadn't been watching long at that point. The game turned into a rugby match the last 8 minutes or so. You nearly had to draw blood to get called for a foul.
  7. Why is LeBron allowed to tomahawk chop people and not get called for fouls, then be a complete douche on a tie up and not get Td up? He's getting way more BS calls than Jordan ever did. Not that Jordan didn't get a ton of calls, but they weren't nearly as pathetically obvious and wrong like the ones LeBron gets now.
  8. Bowden has a good inning, send him out there for a second to get lit up. Rondon has a good inning, send him out there for a second to get lit up. Rinse, repeat. Seriously, the most critical part of a managers job and Sveum is possibly the worst I've ever seen at it. I'm so tired of watching this crap predictably happen night after night in close games. It's so irritating. I really try not to be knee jerk about stuff like this and I realize he has crap to work with, but sending these young guys out for a second inning after a successful outing is just stupid. He's not building any confidence, especially when the second inning of work is against the meat of the order. /rant over
  9. Wow, 1 actual strike, 2 borderline ones, and 3 pitches you shouldn't swing at. All home runs. Ridiculous. Should have given up the entire farm for him. Or not, since there were no prospects down there.
  10. To my untrained eye, they've just looked slower this series than all the other games I've watched. It may be that Detroit has better skaters than other teams I've watched them play, but they just don't seem to have that burst out of their own zone that I've seen be a huge advantage all year.
  11. Unless they start tanking I'd be surprised if they look for someone. They're saying 6-8 weeks, so he'll be back by the deadline I would think.
  12. I'm okay with that unless it's a shoulder problem. If it is, I want no part of that whatsoever.

  14. Looks like some sort of bandage/cast over his right elbow. Not good. Also, Trey Martin's injury sucks hard, fortunately they can fix it with a scope now instead of having to cut him open. Shouldn't be an issue for him going forward since it's not his throwing shoulder.
  15. Man, I didn't realize that the run differential was down to only -7. That's got to be pretty hard to do and be 6 games under .500 this early in the season.
  16. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thought it was some stupid Kyle-ism for something.
  17. No, they're not. I have PF. Some days it hurts when I've done very little to no running for the couple days prior. Some days I don't even notice it after having run 20-25 miles in the previous couple of days. It's a weird ass injury that's very unpredictable and the most you can do is try to prevent it from flaring up, sometimes successfully, sometimes not.
  18. Interesting. They've all regressed a bit but are still well above career averages. Maybe Bosio knows what he's doing. I read this and was like who the eff is he talking about?
  19. The way I read it, they're trying to develop the entire area to eventually make it into a place to go for the casino. I imagine the proposed hotels and having a building you could have concerts/shows in would play into that. So no, not directly, but having a multi-use building right there would certainly help.
  20. I recall this being a thing for Shark in the minors. Is this still true and is Wood another big contributor to this number? Russell and Camp have insane percentages, although obviously their sample is smaller. Feldman, Shark, and Wood are all above 15%. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=2&season=2013&month=0&season1=2013&ind=0&team=17&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=7,d Huh, even stranger is that all three of Feldman, Shark, and Wood are 6-7% above their career GB% rates.
  21. Is this saying that the city will own the casino? That seems like a really, really bad idea. If it's in conjunction with the DePaul deal, then it makes a lot more sense for them to kick in money for that, not exactly fair to the Cubs, but makes more sense.

  23. If that qualifies as a rough outing, I'd like to see a few more of our pitching prospects have rough outings on a regular basis. Rough by his standards, I should say. I knew what you meant, it was more hoping the rest of our pitching prospects would suck a little less. That isn't as good as he's been but you hit the nail on the head with the peripherals. Nothing wrong with those at all.
  24. 2008 says hi?
