    There is absolutely 0% of me that sides with "screw them, they suck and don't deserve it." Yeah, that's an absolutely terrible position to take. There's nothing anyone on this team has done (besides Russell probably) to make me even remotely feel any animosity toward them. They're a good bunch of guys that are just not playing very good baseball right now.

    Assuming they get in this year, this will be the Cubs 9th playoff appearance in my lifetime and I actually remember all of them. 8 playoff appearances in 20 years would be 7th most in MLB during that time. Angels could tie the cubs for 7th if they win the wild card. This would only be 7 in the last 20 years. 84, 89, 98, 03, 07, 08, 15, 16, 17.

    Before last season, anytime I wanted to feel pity about the Cubs history, I remembered that its still better than the White Sox, who have never in their history made the playoffs in consecutive years and only 9 times total in 116 seasons. This might/will be 19 for the Cubs since 1901 Assuming they get in this year, this will be the Cubs 9th playoff appearance in my lifetime and I actually remember all of them.

    It's a weird thing. It was awful for me first thing in the morning but was fine once I got loosened up. And it wasn't every day either. Not that I was trying to play pro baseball, but I was running 50+ miles a week at the time.

    No, a calendar week is from Sunday - Sunday. Saying "in a week" would count back 7 days from whichever point you are currently. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this week covers that. Calendar week is dumb.

    Because the entirety of Cardinal fandom (BFIB Nation as I like to call them) has a weird obsession with how celebrated Ross was/is. They have no understanding that we, as a fanbase, totally didn't take any of it seriously and it was a novelty. They truly seem to believe he's seen as one of the most beloved Cubs of all time. It's really, really weird.

    I went to the Cards Braves game Sunday and he was at first base. I pointed him out before the game and damned if he didn't blow an obvious call on a not so close play. Fortunately it got reversed, but he's just so predictably bad. Him, West, and Bucknor all need to go.

    He's stealthily emerged as the biggest creep with this one, and that's with the stiff competition of Lackey looking like he showed up wearing his usual Sunday best and Happ coming the closest to a genuine smile he's shown so far (probably because his "leather" vest is actually made out of skin). That no sleeves look with just the vest makes me think this isn't the first time Happ has worn a get up like this.

    Yes, The Cubs paid more because Quintana is better and more durable. And durable probably being the bigger factor of the two.
