  1. Sorry, I am a little confused. Last year was not Tejada's best year. 2004 was, rather easily.
  2. Based on what? Last year's stats? Who is in the top 10?
  3. I really don't see how. Tejada's production, considering he is a SS, is pretty remarkable. You might disagree, but it's certainly not ridiculous to rank Tejada third. And I would take him over Lee any day of the week. It's pretty easy to find a decent bat at 1st.
  4. Everyone?
  5. Isn't that stupid that they pick on Girardi for not allowing facial hair, but it's no biggie that Torre does the same thing?
  6. If this is a dreadful outfield, then what would you call last year's?
  7. Foster leads the big ten in steals, IIRC.
  8. It's going to kill Greg that this year he is shooting under 50% when the rest of his career he has always been above. That said, it is amazing what he is able to do near be basket being that he is 6'6" at best.
  9. Although I have felt differently in the past, I would prefer it if Alford stayed. He seems to have made a LOT of progress in the PR department and checking his ego a bit since he first arrived. It would disappoint me to see IU reap the benefit of Iowa providing paid (and not cheaply) training for Alford; just when he starts putting it together, some other team might benefit. That said, if he does go, I hope Bowlsby considers Craig Neal for the position, despite the fact that he has no head coaching experience. Neal has definitely brought a ton to the bench since his hire. He also appears to have recruiting ties in place...something I worry about were the hawks to hire McDermott from UNI. Also, I don't think the cupboard is bare next year. It won't win the big 10, but it will be in the running for a tourney spot again. Haluska and Henderson is definitely a good start. A lot of it will depend on how good Cyrus Tate really is (could be the best juco power forward in the country this year...and he will have three years of eligibility remaining).
  10. I don't see Few ever leaving Gonzaga. He seems very loyal to his alma mater.
  11. Did Davis give Seth a call at halftime or what? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/seth_davis/02/15/indiana.davis/index.html
  12. Unless he does something awesome in the Illini's last few games, there is no way that Dee Brown should make any higher than 3rd team all big 10 this year.
  13. No, I think the question was why aren't walks considered when computing slugging percentage and whether their direct addition into the equation wouldn't create a relevant statistic to consider.
  14. No, not at all. For example, last year Derrek Lee's OPS was 1.080. (SLG= 662; OBP=418) His TB+BB/PA = .704. I agree, this should be a relevant statistic.
  15. Don't forget to consider the parks that each player have played in when they were accumulating their statistics.
  16. Overrated? Surely ye jest. If anything, considering they are 8-3 against top 25 teams and at least a game in front of everyone else in one of the top 2 conferences in the country (not to mention top 10 in the RPI)...yet ranked around 20 in both polls...if anything, they are underrated.
  17. Why? IMO, OSU has the best chance of any big 10 team to make a deep NCAA run.
  18. Well, for one thing, they just beat up on Michigan and Wisky. They are coming into their own...well, as much as they can this year considering how many players they have out. They will make a bit of noise in the big 10 next year, methinks.
  19. Purdue and Penn State are both probably better than NW.
  20. Dials hit the bench right away for about 4-5 minutes after he got that third foul called on him. That was when UI made a bit of a run.
  21. I can't believe the line was only OSU -2.
  22. When is the last time that KSU has been favored AT Mizzou?
  23. Augie doesn't have a major league contract. I'm not sure where Carroll would fit. Although Carroll would be better to have around than Neifi.
