  1. Vargas is known for giving up the longball.
  2. If Phil Garner doesn't Dusty the Astros, they could field a decent team.
  3. Maybe Piniella will go all Bobby Cox on us and platoon EPatt and Derosa at second during the regular season.
  4. Brad Ausmus drafted in the 14th round and Cesar Izturis in the 18th round.
  5. In a traditional 5x5 roto league, PECOTA's playing-time-adjusted forecast has Thome as the 108th best hitter available, and projects Felipe Lopez to be more valuable than Thome (taking position into consideration, of course). The White Sox training staff is very good, though, so if Thome avoids getting hurt, you've got a steal. And even if he does get hurt, he'll help win several weeks in a head-to-head league while he's healthy.
  6. Click on the "Draft Central" tab. Click on "Pre-Draft Rankings." On the lefthand side of the screen, there will be a list of 25 players. The title of the list is "Pre-Draft Player Rankings List." Next to the title it says "Edit My Rankings." Click on that. Now you see the tool that you use to rank players. You rank players overall; you can't specify what round you'd want to take someone in. However, if you wouldn't want to pick a relief pitcher until the fourth round, though, just make sure you don't have a reliever ranked in your top 30. Good luck!
  7. You're SmallBall Smorgasbord, right? According to PECOTA's projections (adjusted for projected playing time), and looking at whole teams instead of just starters, your team is probably in the top 3 or 4 in the league.
  8. The wind knocks down a possible HR for Jacque.
  9. SRO tickets for opening day and the ring ceremony on 4/3 are going for several times over face value.
  10. I want to go to opening day - in fact I've already booked a hotel - but I'm not buying 11 games just for opening day. I'll buy from Stubhub or eBay if I need to. Hopefully the Reds will release single-game tickets for opening day and I can get them that way.
  11. If you read the article, you'll see that his arm troubles began when Girardi sent him back into a game after an 82-minute rain delay.
  12. Murton swings on the first pitch. No patience.
  13. 1B - JT Snow 2B - Orlando Hudson SS - Cesar Izturis 3B - Joe Crede C - Yadier Molina LF - Darin Erstad CF - Brian Anderson RF - Richard Hidalgo That team defense would be so good that it would never lose a game.
  14. Can't wait for the first Cesar at-bat of 2007. Hail Cesar!
  15. It's amazing that he didn't try that in St. Louis.
  16. I'm drafting him #1 overall in the NSBB newbie fantasy draft.
  17. When will Soriano break out of this slump?
  18. Soriano preserves continuity from 2006 and goes 4-3.
  19. As long as he never has to face a righty, he can.
