  1. Toss Up: More likely to win the NL Cy Young: Maddux or Pedro? Kornheiser picks Pedro; Wilbon picks Maddux.
  2. Maddux discussion will be coming up on PTI. He will be the 9th discussion; they're currently on the 2nd.
  3. Yes! 1080i is amazing when broadcast with the correct cameras and pushed into your home with the correct signal. To date, The Masters was the most impressive form of sports broadcast in 1080i. CBS does a great job...I wish ESPN would start 1080i and if FOX would ever invest in high end cameras it would be tough to get work done due to the amount of true HD that would be available. Good to hear bro, good to hear! I just got my TV on Friday and I love it! I'll put this TV against any besides the Qualia. Worth every penny I spent! Discovery HD does a fanastic job also. "Sunrise Earth" is a boring program but the visual's are just outstanding! Can't take my eyes of the screen... What TV do you own? I'm in the market for a new TV.
  4. This is absolutely exciting and comforting that the Cubs have had so many come-from-behind victories. IMO, it is a reflection of the team, and bodes well for the rest of the season.
  5. he's been pouting a lot this year. Then again he hasn't pitched this bad for this long in quite a while Z had a very good start last time out. He hasn't pitched that bad tonight. It should be 1-0. Why should it be 1-0? Becuase in the first inning Caberra pulled a low and away slider out of the park. Only a good hitter who has a little luck dosen't hit a weak grounder there. So you're not blaming Z for the walk to Uggla--who was on base when Cabrera hit that home run? No the walk was bad but Uggla was on first. Caberra can't run well. When you try to pull a ball that is low and away it usually ends up as a ground ball. Even if it managed to get by for a single the next guy k'd. Walks are bad. Z is solely responsible for walking Uggla and giving up the home run to Cabrera. Whether the odds were with Z or not on the pitch, doesn't mean he is not responsible.

  7. Heat won the tip. Switching to Bulls now.

  9. The guy in the stands behind Erin Andrews has a huge head.
  10. Don't re-sign Maddux and don't pick up Wood's 2007 option. Keep Prior and Z and work from there.
  11. NSBB member JR had a picture of that in his signature a while back. I remember asking him to explain the story behind it, and he sent me a link to the story.
  12. Garland is back to being the same crappy pitcher he also was. 2005 was a FLUKE for Garland, and the start to the 2006 season, I believe proves it. The Garland/Karchner trade in hindsight, was really a young crappy pitcher, for an older crappy pitcher. No loss. Losing Wuertz to the Sox would pissed me off, more then losing Garland.
  13. I think that's a reasonable trade suggestion. You're right about Gload "rotting"; he's played in only 4 games with a total of 4 PAs. If Gload's on Williams's or Ozzie's bad list it could make Gload easily available.
  14. The debate arguing if the '06 Cubs are good enough to win 35 of 45 like the '05 Astros is unnecessary because the '06 Cubs don't have a huge deficit to overcome (as of now). The '06 Cubs may be slightly worse than the '05 Astros, but until we fall ~12 games under .500, this discussion is moot.
  15. I agree, let's not overlook a nice come from behind win.
  16. According to Mazor, Lee has a sprain to right wrist. Lee will fly back to Chicago. Right knee contusion for Eyre. Day-to-day.
  17. I don't Lee is headed to the DL, but I do worry that he may have nagging discomfort for months because of this injury.
  18. Vito from The Sopranos. Although, I don't think Vito would mind some time in prison...
