Bryce Brown is in Knoxville this weekend for another unofficial, and this time has family and his handler with him. From all I am hearing, Brown will sign with UT on Monday, a major coup for a staff that still hasn't been together for 3 months yet. With Belotti stepping down at Oregon today, everything seems to have lined up for Brown to wear the Orange next year.

Oooohhh... nice pick. I know someone who's not gonna be happy about that one! Here's a hint: he picks right after me and was targeting Ianetta- the catcher he traded for last year and hoped to keep for a few years. Weird. I'm looking looking at his team and it looks like he didn't bother keeping hardly any major leaguers. Why didn't he keep Ianetta? Looks like he still had one year of exemption status No, he kept 5, but he kept mostly pitching. I have no idea why he kept Conor Jackson over Ianetta (makes ZERO sense to me...), and not entirely sure what he's doing with his team this year. He's picking up picks next season, but he's not picking up guys to whom he can add guys next year. If our trade goes through, he'll add another pick, but at some point, he's gonna have to start drafting guys. (I just hope it's after my offer goes through.) And, just like that, it does. So does another one with Mooch. But dangit if Mooch didn't trade less than I did.

Sorry, fellas, but it's gonna be a few hours before I pick. I have a busy evening, and am not ready just yet. Still fielding offers for Rasmus, and liking what I'm seeing, though not settled on one yet. Bear with me. I'll have a pick in before 10 CST.

Having Nuke's pre-ranked list, I see that his top player is the guy I am targeting for my next pick. Unfortunately, he picks before me. Sadly, I cannot trade up in good conscience. :banghead:

If you're not going to contend, what is the point in keeping Hamilton? He's not likely to increase his trade value a ton, and he might not be as valuable in 3 years when your team is ready to contend. I also own Hamilton in a keeper league, and an offer of Upton and Liriano would really have me thinking. You might want to float Hamilton's availability to your league and see if you can get a better offer than what you already have. Now that I have totally wrecked any bargaining power I have with Hamilton in my own league, I will shut up.

I disagree. Not only is 45 seconds per pick unreasonable, it's borderline absurd. Keep in mind that this league will have 92 more players selected than last year. I think that 1 minute per pick is an aggressive estimate, and even at that, you're looking at a 6 hour draft. Others may, but I simply do not have time to do a 6 hour draft. I have a pregnant wife and a 19 month old at home who need more attention from me than that. 3 hours, maybe even 4, I can get by with. 6, and I am sleeping in the guest bed. I don't like sleeping in the guest bed.

Let me confirm: Kyle says he gave you his 2nd rounder next year for this deal you just made. Is this correct? yah Got it. I'll make a note of that.

You get my last email? Not sure what's behind your questions. I mean, I know you want to DL ARod and still have room during the preseason to add someone (or, at least that's my guess...), but not sure why you're questioning the DL and roster limits during the offseason? Is it a legit question, or are you making a point that I need spelled out more clearly? No, I just want to make sure that I can draft his replacement without having an "illegal" roster. I just can't move him to the DL right now. No, you cannot technically draft him. You can only draft the number of total players for which you have an active roster spot (25). However, once the season begins, and DL spots are official, you can then pick someone up via waivers. Hope that helps. That's kinda screwy, but okay. Nothing screwy at all about it. There are no DL spots in MLB during the offseason, and until the season begins, a player cannot be designated as injured. While we cannot follow every rule and procedure of MLB in a fantasy league, this one is easy and right to follow. Besides, we are drafting the exact number of players we need. WHy should we allow teams with injured players to draft extra players? That would be silly. If you want to draft his backup, then draft him. You have plenty of room on your roster for that. IF you don't, and would rather do it via free agency after the draft, then do it that way. At that point, ARod will be designated as injured, opening up a roster spot for you anyway. I'm not sure if you're misunderstanding that once the season starts that you can have up to 3 players on your DL who will not count against your 25 man roster, or if you are just upset that you have to wait. Either ay, these are the rules and have been since day 1. It's the same for you as it is for me- if Peavy goes out and blows out his elbow in the WBC, then that sucks for me, but I don't get to draft an extra player because of it. It might not be perfect, but it is what it is. That may be somewhat true, but a MLB team can make appropriate moves in order to cover a known injury before the season starts. If Jake Peavy tears a labrum before opening day the Padres can make a trade or signing to cover that injury. So while he's not technically on the DL the MLB team does not have their hands tied until the start of the season. Does that make sense? Sure they do. If they make a trade, they have to have room on their 40 man roster for that player. Same for us. You have to have room on your 25 man roster to carry someone during the offseason. You cannot have 26 players at all during the offseason, just as MLB team cannot carry 43 players on their 40 man roster during the offseason. However, once the season begins, you can carry up to 28 players, provided that 3 are classified as injured and on the DL by MLB. Again, it is not exact, and it is not perfect, but those are the rules. If not, the hypotheticals can get way out of hand. (Imagine a guy keeping 17 exempt players and 13 injured players whose points do not exceed the limit. That's a bit of a reach, though perhaps not as severe a reach as you might think.) I think you'll find that this is much ado about nothing, though. Honestly, I think you're making far more out of this than necessary. A 25 man roster in fantasy is GINORMOUS, and there is no reason you cannot draft ARod's backup and forego a middle reliever until the season actually begins, DL ARod, and sign a middle reliever via free agency. I promise, this is basically a non-issue with rosters being the size they are.

If you don't get mine by Wednesday, I guess, I'll just send payment again. That sucks though. Where have you sent it? To you. Yeah, I figured. Did you mail it to my home address? I sent it to your homey Snoop's house. I sent it to the address provided to me by you. I don't know if that's your house or not?!?! :-)) Sweet... a comedian. I'm a little worried. You sent it February 26th, and it hasn't arrived on March 8th. That's a long time. Of course, nothing surprises me as far as mail is concerned.
