  1. Yes, please do and then post your complete rosters here for all to see. If this is not done by 2/28/09 then myself and Tim will go and make the selections for teams on 3/1/09. Not trying to be the police man, but if you have to do this, is there any thought given to replacing those owners who have not responded?
  2. Where the heck did your sig come from?
  3. You're not keeping any exempt players or minor leaguers? #-o Sorry, thought you only wanted my keepers from the non-exempt list. Here are my minor leaguers and exempt players: Miller, Andrew SP FLA Jackson, Conor 1B ARI Roster grid shows both of these guys on Nick's team.
  4. I won't really know until some of my 5 outstanding offers have been replied to. Do you just want us to go on there and drop our own players? It would seem to make more sense.
  5. We've got a pipeline in there. Probably going back to the Trooper Taylor days when he had connections out there. Goes back further than that. Marcus Nash was a huge get out of Tulsa in the mid 90's. Nash led to Meachem led to Gerald Jones led to Oku. Tennessee has been in on recruits from OK for years now. Here's hoping that Chaney can keep this up.
  6. I wonder if ad execs see the potential Super Bowl matchups and think "ahh, hell, let's just save the money until next year"? Seriously. Worst. Potential. Super. Bowl. Ever. The most watchable Super Bowl would be Philly/Pittsburgh, but how much of the country can muster more than a passing interest in that game? Baltimore/Arizona? I'd rather watch an episode of Blind Date, starring Tim Tebow and Thom Brennaman.
  7. "The Carolinas" is not a state. They are two states, but you only wrote it that way to support your point. Also, half of the Big 12 is not in Texas. Nor is half the Pac 10 in California. Not sure why you have to make up things to prove a point. Rampant insecurity, I guess.
  8. Way to address the point.
  9. sec defenses blow, they just dont have to face good offenses. not to mention all he throws are little dump offs, anyway. hard to get intercepted on a hand off This is every bit as dumb as anything Meph has ever posted. Why are you trying to out dbag him?
  10. DING! DING! DING! We have a winner. (not that it matters...)
  11. Two minutes here should convince you of this. Every expert in every field is far dumber than the collective intelligence represented at NSBB. Especially in math. All those other experts are just Salieri. Also the Big Bang Theory or something. Isn't there some Big Ten11 bashing somewhere on the interwebs that you need to go and refute?

  13. Nope. Trooper to Auburn.
  14. This is from Roy Adams. TIFWIW. Well, that answers my previous question. I like the sound of Billy Gonzalez to UT, but I hate the idea of Trooper going to Florida. IF all this happens, the staff is going to look like this, I'm guessing: Chaney (OC/OL) Reaves (QB's) Drayton (RB's) Gonzalez (WR's/Passing Game Coordinator) Garner (TE's/Running Game Coordinator) Kiffin (DC) Orgeron (DL/Asst Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator) Cregg (LB's) ? (DB's) I thought I heard Monte was going to coach DBs? And is Drayton confirmed to return, or are you speculating on him? I'd say unless we get Gran then Drayton should return, since Trooper's not coming back. Neither Monte nor Lane will coach a specific position. There will be a DB's coach hired, unless a stellar LB coach is available, and in that case, I'd look for Cregg to coach DB's, and that coach to be hired. Monte will spend most of his time with the DB's and LB's. Drayton is speculation, and Gran could just as easily be the guy. I believe that if Gonzalez is not hired, taht Gran and Drayton will both be on staff. Both have coached WR's before. If Gonzalez does come, I think he will have Special Teams under his responsibilities.

  16. More Tennessee coaching news, which will also affect at least Ok State, and possibly Auburn, Miami, and/or Florida... This is from Roy Adams. TIFWIW.
  17. Rodney Garner to UT is a done deal. It should be announced publicly in the next 48 hours. Tennessee now has one of the best- if not the best- recruiting staffs in the country. Again, now they will have to deliver and coach up recruits, but this is a nice step forward following the disaster of the previous 4 years. Lane Kiffin has done exactly what he said he'd do in his first press conference.
  18. ku is obviously better coached, though ut is far more athletic. You serious? Because I'm not seeing in this game where that's being shown at all. Tennessee's had terrible hot/cold streaks throughout the game. If they were a bit more consistent hitting their shots then this would be a much closer game. ku shouldn't be beating ut this bad for any reason. tennessee should be able to get to the hoop on a consistent basis against this young kansas team. i should also mention that i hate tennessee and i hate their stupid headbands even more. Why should UT be able to get to the hoop at will? We haven't done it all year, and I cannot imagine that a game in Allen Field House is the time and place to begin. Tennessee lost this game due to an inability to play defense effectively or to shoot worth a flip. Give Kansas credit, they won this game far more than Tennessee lost it, though. Tennessee misses Lofton and JaJuan Smith terribly right now. No one is shooting the ball particularly well outside of about 12 feet besides maybe Cameron Tatum. And Scotty Hopson just has not lived up to the "one-and-done" hype. Defensively, he is a HUGE liability. Some things missing from this Tennessee team: perimeter shooting, secondary ball pressure on the press, and as a result, the ability to make that 12-0 run twice a game, as has been the trademark of this team under Pearl.
  19. I just went to an OkST message board and no one said anything about this. The player was Jamal Mosby. Does that sound right?
  20. I just went to an OkST message board and no one said anything about this. You can just about take it to the bank. Disassociated UT booster, Roy Adams wrote on UT's Rivals site that one of OSU's receivers, whose name slips me at the moment, called a local high school coach in Memphis him to tell him that Trooper had told some players that he was leaving. Trooper did the same thing at Tennessee, as the players knew about 2 weeks before the media did. Roy Adams also broke the Orgeron news about two weeks ago. That, and Trooper kept his house in Knoxville. TIFWIW, but I would not count on Trooper being in Stillwater next year.
  21. Dew... Rodney Garner is in Knoxville today, having a second interview, and the feeling is that there is someting serious going down here. Trooper Taylor has also told players at OSU that he is indeed leaving OSU for either Auburn or Tennessee. Should we get both- and I realize that it's more likely we get neither- there is not a better recruiting staff anywhere in the country, and it's probably not even really close. Now, coaching 'em up is the priority, but getting them here looks much more promising right now.
  22. Technically, whether you use a/an before a word beginning with an H should be determined by the letter after the H. Thus, "an hand" is technically correct. Only if the h is silent, if I'm not mistaken. It would not be correct to say "I want an hamburger." Nor "have an happy holiday." I believe you're right (such as an historic moment; the word is pronounced "istoric" with the "h" silent). Yes, historic and honor were the words that immediately came to mind. There are a number of formal "correct" English pronunciations which drop the h altogether when deciding between a or an. Link. Back in undergrad, one of my friends was a linguistics major who did a lot of work on this kind of stuff. There was an English grammar book he showed me which stated that you should always drop the h when determining whether to use a or an. It's a dialectical thing (as seen with some people pronouncing the "h" in history), but technically speaking, it is acceptable to say "an hand" or "an happy holiday." Yes, it is dialectic, but mostly European dialects. The link you provided clearly states that it is at the speaker's discretion, but uses Cockney as the formal example, and promotes an only in the case that you pronounce it as a silent h. In that case, and especially in the United States, the usage of an is incorrect unless you say (as quoted in the article) "an and." (ie "give me an and, mate.") Now, if you're european by lineage, who am I to tell you how to speak? However, if you pronounce your h's, then it just sounds ridiculous to use the word an before it. Okay, English lesson over. Don't we have a Texas/OSU game to overanalyze and batter each other over?

  24. Did a Bammer really just (try to) say "you win with class, you lose with class"? Surely I am not the only person here who understands the irony in that statement? I cannot possibly be.

Only if the h is silent, if I'm not mistaken. It would not be correct to say "I want an hamburger." Nor "have an happy holiday." Not only that, but nearly every h word has a vowel for a second letter. There are very few "h" words in the english language with a consonant as the second letter, and those are almost exclusively the consonant "y".
