Roast, You answered your own question. In Jim Hendry's mind, paying a 31 year old, left-handed hitting, toolsy player with 30 hr potential $11.67M over 2007 and 2008 is just not terrible. Well, my question is, where does this "30 HR potential" come from. The most he has ever hit in one season is 27 (2002) which was coincidentally his best overall year of his career. In fact; one could probably say it was the exception to the rest of his career. Outside that season his highest HR total is 23. And its sad that Hendry doesnt realize that. Well, we are halfway through the season and Jock strap has 13 Hr's. I don't think 30 for the year is outta the question at all.
