    Roast, You answered your own question. In Jim Hendry's mind, paying a 31 year old, left-handed hitting, toolsy player with 30 hr potential $11.67M over 2007 and 2008 is just not terrible. Well, my question is, where does this "30 HR potential" come from. The most he has ever hit in one season is 27 (2002) which was coincidentally his best overall year of his career. In fact; one could probably say it was the exception to the rest of his career. Outside that season his highest HR total is 23. And its sad that Hendry doesnt realize that. Well, we are halfway through the season and Jock strap has 13 Hr's. I don't think 30 for the year is outta the question at all.

    :?: Kerry Wood, he was used with absolutely no caution in HS. Threw both halves of a double header if memory serves. In a playoff or championship game....and hit a game winning home run in the first game I think.

    Huff generally doesn't heat up until the 2nd half, and he also missed a month of baseball and it's still May.

    It's been said over and over on the radio broadcasts if not in print that Clines and Mathews wanted Murton to pull the ball more. These reports started about 2-3 weeks ago. It doesn't take a PhD to connect the dots on that one. Excuse me for not living in the Chicago area...I was unaware of such reports. Well, you dont have to live in the Chicago area to hear the reports, you browse NSBB, right? Not too often I'm a busy guy. Us bellevegas Cub fans stay busy enough dodging attacks from the cardinal folk :P

    I don't want any part of the D-train. He got by with mediocre pitches and a deceptive delivery. Now that the league has seen him a few years, that deceptive delivery isn't enough.

    Me too...without a doubt. I really like the idea of snagging Shealy. I'd rather pursue top prospects who have the potential to make it, then repetitively signing players we KNOW suck at the ML level.

    I really like Marshall alot! He's shown alot of poise and maturity on the mound, and he's had great control and generally throws first pitch strikes. We weren't expecting any rooks to step up like he has, and that makes him even more special.

    Victorino I picked him up in one of my leagues to replace Rowand when he got hurt. There was alot of talk about him last year, I think.... Top prospect in their organization.

    Neither Pierre nor Jones are butchers in the OF. They throw like 8 year old girls, but they cover a lot of ground. I agree....I guess I should've clarified. I'm tired of their noodle arms.

    That sign is PERFECT, and has rightfully earned a place in my sig as well!! I have never had this much hatred for a baseball player, as I do for Bonds.

    I wouldn't mind seeing us land Lugo and move Cedeno over to 2B, as I'm assuming Walker will more than likely be gone. I'd like to have Mora as well, however, I wouldn't take him over Aram....unless he flukes this year and doesn't put up #'s comparable to the last couple years. Catalanotto would make an excellent utility guy. Escobar would make a nice addition to the pitching staff, as would Zito, Mulder or Pettitte.

    I'd love to for us to snag Shealy. I think that could be a bigger move than any made in the offseason. I would hope that when Lee returns he could help us out in an outfield platoon too. He couldn't be any more of a butcher in OF than Jones or Pierre.

    Agreed that 12 mil/2 he gave Neifi and Rusch could've been used on a much needed SP. These guys have to go. Paying Neifi $5M over 2 years is the ultimate disgrace. Agreed....the sad thing is that Rusch's contract is even worse!! :evil:
