  1. think how safe he would have been if he was running hard.
  2. maddux is a better situational hitter than half of our team.
  3. we arent good anymore. people arent very happy about that.
  4. once maddux leaves we will easily lead the league in walks.
  5. yeah! I love that the astros can lose Beltran and Bagwell and get better, we lose sosa and alou and get worse. there old pitching stays healthy and our young guys are hurt.
  6. and palmeiro makes his annual great play against the cubs. good times.
  7. If Baker must play Neifi, at least he is doing it against a lefty. Neifi actually is somewhat useful vs lefties. (.295 .309 .505). He has some power as a right handed hitter and we all know about his range. After seeing about 50 seeing eye grounders get through the infield yesterday, I don't mind seeing him in there. By the way, vs lefties Walker is at .369 .406 .662, so go figure. I'd have rather seen Perez at short tonight, as Nomar's at .219 .257 .219 vs lefties. Actually, as long as Nomar's goal at the plate seems to be to pull everything they chuck up there on the ground, I'm ok with Neifi in there, provided it's vs lefties, and lefties only. I'd rather he was in the 6 hole, though. Here's the rub, he doesn't have to play Neifi. There are no rules saying everyone of your players gets a certain amount of starts.
  8. The problem is pretty simple LaRussa leaves him in 1 too many innings every game it seems. Last night he was hit pretty hard in the 5th but then Tony lets him bat for himself in a big spot and come back out for another inning. Then he takes a liner off of his hand, like God was telling Tony he was done, but he is still left in. He looked fine to me until he ran out of gas and was overextended. That final inning he really missed his spots and even walked Blanco, like Joe Morgan says "Morris isn't gonna walk anyone."
  9. Yeah plus I'd be a lot more comfortable with The Rajah, Oswalt, and Pettite as far from the playoffs as possible. Call me paranoid, but that's not a three man rotation I'd relish facing in a 5 or 7 game series. Nah, those guys are scrubs. I for one am wondering why it is that we all praise Clemens for his great workout regiment and for getting better past 40, then turn around and say old Barry Bonds is cheating. I would love to see the Rocket get tested. You shouldn't be improving as you get well past 40. disclaimer: unless you are named Julio Franco. Two reasons I can see - 1) There hasn't been any explosion in pitching stats like there has been in home runs starting in 1998 and 2) Pitchers don't appear to have gotten noticiably more muscular fro 15 years ago. It will be interesting to see when everything is said and done how many pitchers were on the juice. yeah studs like Ryan Franklin got busted. They are just as guilty. You are right though it would be interesting to see how many of them are.

  11. they arn't at home, so Ensberg cant hit popups into that box in left. did you see his 450 foot homer at the BOB to dead center the other night? did you see the 10 big ones he hit last year? Waiting patiently for Clemens to retire.
  12. Dusty's firing will be a dark day for me and much of Cardinals Nation. Sadly the boobs running the Chicago Cubs don't see this fact that constantly hits us in the face. The man took the most talented team on paper last year and didn't make the playoffs. Meanwhile Tony Larusa took a team that by many writer's accoutns was a third place talent level(they were wrong) and won 150 games(or so it seemed). Meanwhile we got fed the whole, "well if the guys were all healthy," crap. I just wonder how nice it must feel to be a cardinals fan, being so much better than your division that your entire team gets hurt and you only have a 10 game lead on everybody.
  13. Really? You still think so after all the injuries? One would think he would have lost something on his pitches. If he stays healthy he will be great. That being said he is a cubs pitcher, so at some point we will abuse him and again he will be hurt.
  14. classy organization they have there in St. Louis
  15. The really sad thing about the whole situation is in my 25 years of living we have never had as much talent as we have had the last two years and this clown has just mismanaged them into losers. I have relatives who are Yankees and Cardinals fans and even they are like this is pathetic, the Cubs had too much talent last year to not make the playoffs. This year they are not a playoff team normally, but the NL is so bad they should be.
  16. I first read that and thought you said Jeremy Hermida. I wish that was who you said. Although Dusty would just sit on him anyways.
  17. so he's an untalented Kerry Wood. Yeah lets avoid that.
  18. Yes! Sorry Z. They bail out Baker again. This team has heart, too bad it has a degenerative brain.
  19. What do you mean, "today"? I almost don't want him to take the walk. Nice job managing today Dusty =D>
  20. surely they pitch to Lee with Ramirez behind him..... Oh wait thats right we joked around with the lineup today.
  21. and now we lose aramis and have no pher left if barrett gets on. that managing folks.
  22. Hendry should fire Baker, that kid is a big league regular.

  24. come on matty you have to get this runner in to prove to dusty how easy this really is.
  25. sweet holly can fail again. ph murton now!
