Were they playing them because they always seem to do very well against us? That is what I was thinking. That and they are left handed so easier matchups for them with Z.

Regardless of the money he makes, Wood in the pen, set up or closer (ultimately closer) is what will make him the superstar we all thought he'd be. It is what it is. for years we said we wanted a k rod in our bullpen, well we have one now. let's go get some starting pitchers now. maybe a break and angel will finally get healthy. -

I think his best game might be his 3 homer game last year. that grand slam off Willis in the playoffs was pretty sweet too.

I believe he K'd 4 of the last 6 he faced. His PC will get him out of the game early. He's around 110 pitches. 111 pitches and he's done after 6. Aardsma in. 9 Ks, 2 BBs, 1 HBP, 4 Hs, 0 R for Pinto. why not let him start instead of Rusch? -
our one two has been brutal tonight. Murton isn't helping his cause much either... :( NICE play by D-Lee to keep Taveras off the basepaths for the first time tonight... Haha take that NYF. heh, ok let's try this with Corey. Corey isn't helping his cause much tonight either... ah got greedy.

Derek Jeter had over 60 errors in the minors one year. The truly amazing thing is that this kid and Cantu aren;t the DRAYS middle infield. -
Yes I would judge Corey on one PA. He has made some real strides since coming back. I agree he has made some strides since coming back. But my question is how much does he need to improve so he can become acceptable as of our center fielder of the future? How high does his BA have to be? How many strikeouts are acceptable? Or how many walks does he need to take? I could care less about strike outs. If he is productive he could K 200 times a year. That said I wish he would walk more. But my big thing is I think he needs to get back to 2004 when he was making contact the ball was jumping off of his bat. The "work" he did with the cubs on his swing this offseason was devistating.

I here ya. I am at a point in this season where I am on the fence of packing it up for the season or making the playoff push. Every pitch has me with mixed feelings. I keep thinking how much this team sucks but then we put together a couple hits which gets my hopes up but of course then we give up a run to give the momentum away. I wouldnt mind losing for Busty but I also want to make that push for the postseason. Ah the life of a cubs fan. :roll: I told myself this series will decide it. If we win this series I will believe we have a chance. We lose it's time to call up some kids and play em.

think how safe he would have been if he was running hard. you didn't think Lawton was running hard there? hmmm. he did look safe btw... looked like he was at the end, but watched the ball out of the box, plus no one argued so they must have felt he was out.
