  1. I can't stand Duke as well, but that's not quite true. They played Air Force and Marquette at a neutral site, and the go to Gonzaga. And even though they play a ton of home games, they play Air Force, Marquette, Indiana, Gonzaga, Georgetown, George Mason, Holy Cross, and Davidson all before the ACC season. They aren't playing the Sisters of the Poor. Well then Majerus lied today. He stated that there first road game would be in the ACC. They are not very good this year, I could easily see them playing .500 in conference.
  2. I noticed today that Duke doesn't play a game away from Durham this year until the no-conference season starts. WTF? Way to pad that winning percentage K. Hard to imagine why you will get beat out early again this year.
  3. ake a look at what Z did his first year up, then remember he wasn't even coming off of 3 years of injuries. Guzman was on a terrible team and showed som flashes. Now lets give him that year as what it was, a rehab, and see where he goes.
  4. That man won a World Series this year. Pujols has to be the MVP.
  5. Has Kerry Wood really played in the majors since 2004?
  6. I fully expect Wainwright to be a starter for you next year. Not that it is a bad thing. Personally, they need to keep him as a closer. He was nasty as closer. I think Wainwright loses value as a starter. I agree he was nasty as a closer, but the thought of having a good pitcher over six innings as to just one if he is closing has to be tempting.

  8. jamar smith when playing well is my favorite basketball player of all time. It's gonna take some special moments for somebody to pass Jack Ingram for me. But Jamar is definitely my favorite on this year's team, and probably last's too. Jack Ingram has Kent status. The Wisconsin game is the beginning and the end of the conversation. I suppose that probably should have been made clear before this converation was started. My apologies. And he didn't even rest on his laurels after that making THE STEAL against Arizona. someone on here (burnt?) sent me a hi-def video of the ending sequence of the arizona game, and i still watch it every couple of weeks or so. i don't think that'll ever be topped for me, national championship be damned. I still pop in my dvd of that game. This year after the Arizona game I needed to be reminded of it. Always gets me fired up.
  9. Hochevar, Greinke, Lumsden, and Buckner. I would rather have Hochevar than most of our minor league arms.
  10. Why? Was this a big league contract?
  11. Dude he disn't shoot free throws well as a frosh so obviously he won't keep shooting the threes this well. :P
  12. They did play well without Randle and Smith. The team will improve throughout the season. I just thought it was very pathetic at how quick they blew their big lead. And yeah, McBride is awful. Well there were some horrible momentum crushing calls. The "charge" on Pruitt cost us 5 points, as Arizona answered with a two. Also the foul where McClellum jumped into our guy on his three point play, we will get better as the year goes on. this is all true. at least all the "rookie" mistakes (the worst by Sr. Mcbride) kept this from being a loss totally from one-sided officiating. this team may make noise after-all. question: will that be counted as a neutral court in the RPI? We will make the tournament so I could care less. With Randle and Smith we will be a dangerous draw for someone.

  14. I thought Illinois looked good today. Missing our two best players, playing a good Arizona in Arizona, playing 5 vs 8. Oh and McBride sucks.
  15. Damn that was smart of them. But, stingy too.
  16. Cook banged on Green. Freshman guards aren't supposed to do that. Damn you Guenther, Thad should have been ours.
  17. Even without Randle and Smith(for all intensive purposes) we would have won if Brock would have got all of Richards minutes. Those two passes were absolutely terrible. Arizona is going to destroy us.
  18. nope his twin brother
  19. Richard McBride is horrible.
  20. Cause I spit in the face of people who are not cool. Nice. Carlito is cool.
  21. Giddens can play. The guy was the third rated sg in america in his class behind LeBron and Shannon Brown.
  22. gottlieb is one of espn's best commentator's when he's talking about the Big XII, his specialty, but I'm not sure about the rest of his CBB knowledge. That's great Kruger is from KState a Big 12 school maybe Doug should have researched a bit before his annointed Bill Self basketball coach jesus. The guy has always done a nice job of following good coaches and building off of what they have done. Tubby, Lon, and Roy are all good coaches who set up his programs and then he ran with it. He did build ORU from the ashes. And while he did come into talent at UI, he also left them with a ton of talent. Weber did a phenomenal job in '05, but you guys don't go to the championship game if Self hadn't brought in so many of those players. The weirdest thing is that, aside from ORU, Self's biggest "rebuilding" job has probably been at KU. We had a lot of mediocre talent due to Roy's every-other-year recruiting style while he was at Kansas. Simien was very good offensively, Langford was good until his knees went, and Miles could distribute and D up. After that, we were essentially stocked w/ role players, especially after Padgett transferred. Come on now. Simien and Miles were great. Miles a MCDAA. Langford was good. He also had Giddens another burger boy. Also Padgett was a burger boy. In other words more talent than Weber had at Illinois. i will concede ORU to you he did a nice job there. But, still Gottlieb called him a savior of Illinois program and that is just wrong and offensive to a fan of Lon Kruger.

  24. Because Duke rarely plays true road games. They played Illinois in Chicago and Michigan State in Detroit. That and the bottom of our conference is terrible.
  25. What a great article. Seriously how much better is the cubs lineup with Soriano as opposed to Pierre? We have to get better, we have the money, why not spend it?
