  1. I hope Smith is hurt, cause as a guy who was only a shooter myself if he isn't, well he is in trouble. I feel so bad for Randle. His injuried have robbed him of his explosiveness. He was crying after the game during his interview against Wiscy, I think he is as frustrated as you can be. I really would go. Frazier McBride Carter Pruitt Carwell Weber has to start recruiting at a higher level though. Frazier is a damn fine backup point guard. He would have looked really good behind a Sheron Collins. If this doesn't happen I think Bruce's job will be in jeopardy soon. This IU game is almost a must win for him because of what hass went down between the two programs the last year.
  2. Actually, UConn got beat by Marquette in their last game at home, ending a 31-game win streak at home. Still, that's a program defining win. Kelvin Sampson will be in Bloomington for as long as he wants the job. Amazing effort by the boys in red. They got manhandled on the UConn end of the boards, but they hit their free throws. 20-21 from the line, including 6 for 6 down the stretch. UConn was just 17 of 28 from the line, which was the difference. IU did a great job sharing the ball, with 18 assists on 24 baskets. The experienced stars stepped up with White having a monster 1st half and Wilmont doing it in the 2nd. I worry about going back on the road again on Tuesday to face the Illini. U of I hasn't been very good this year, but DJ is gonna be spent having played 38 minutes today and again having to face an athletic front line. I'm worried about the emotion of that game as well. U of I fans don't exactly like IU's program right now, and it will be a really tough enviornment to go in and win. I'd love the win, but I'm not incredibly hopeful. Looking forward, that Wisconsin game at home in a week or two is huge. The only game IU plays them this year at Bloomington-a win there gives us a possible huge tiebreaker advantage while protecting the homecourt. I just got cheap tix to IU-UI on ebay! It will be crazy there, and a tough game, but IU is the better team. If any Illini want to brawl, I'll be the guy in red. Another internet tough guy.
  3. Unreal, or the Bulls could put a product out there that was good enough that this wouldn't happen. You think this would have happened when Jordan and Pippen were there? I can't stand how Chicago people don't understand that some people that live in the city want to support the hometown school. If Farmar would have been picked by Utah and then came to play the Clippers and the fans would have screamed for Farmar to come in I am sure you would have took issue with it.
  4. The hype of the '85 crew isn't ever unneccesary. :P
  5. Landry drives the lane, Randle(?) tries to take a charge. Landry goes up, Randle falls down, then Landry shoots and makes the layup. Officials called an offensive foul on Landry, but counted the basket. I don't understand. That makes no sense. Exactly. They should've either whistled Randle and counted the basket, or gotten Landry for the charge and not counted it. It was a clear charge. Tucker went over Frazier's back in front of everyone. I think we must have been the road team.
  6. They called Landry for a charge. He had made contact then let the ball go. Yet they decided to count the bucket anyways. Umm, please tell me you're kidding. Wow. No I am not and neither are the other posters complaining about it.
  7. They called Landry for a charge. He had made contact then let the ball go. Yet they decided to count the bucket anyways.
  8. ah but it was only a totally momentun changing call.
  9. Chester is ok.
  10. who is the home team here? They have gotten every big call.
  11. warren carter is pathetic, get a rebound.
  12. what a stupid foul. make your throws rich.
  13. nice rebounding there guys. :pukel:
  14. I don't want to turn this into a pot debate, but I believe the point of the article is that this kid is trouble. He has had repeated trouble following the law, and doesn't seem to be able to learn from it. It's not really the amount that was found on him, it's that he had it to begin with. Although the article doesn't mention it, who was driving and was the driver intoxicated? I say the Cubs stay away from this moron. The same could have been said about a lot of great players. Gary Sheffield comes to mind. He is a 22 year old who has had no father figure in his life. Sure isn't hard to figure out that he is immature.
  15. Jim don't let Z walk. Offer him ownership if he wants it.
  16. I wish you had Steve, I think he is doing a great job this year. They have two players that are anything yet are competitive.
  17. They will win this one going away.
  18. I hope we fire Lee or at least dock him his pay. That lazy bum. If he does it for the better part of three years I would imagine we would.
  19. I don't hate him, but if you did your job as often and with the success he did last year, would you ask for a raise?
  20. Go Iowa. Ugly game thus far.
  21. No they didn't. They said 1 year at 15 and a half million. Oh I was hoping that was all he wanted per year for 5.
  22. They just said on sportscenter Z wants 5 years at 15 mil a year. Giv eit to him.
  23. I believe a team can offer 20% less, but in a skyrocketing market, I'm not sure how realistic that is to win a case. Just bring one of his baseball cards in from this past year. I think the stats will help the Cubs win the case.
  24. Self will fix Collins in a year or two. :D I sure am glad Weber whiffed on him.
  25. Bo Ryan never plays Northwestern well. I can't explain it for the life of me. There are a lot of teams that struggle at Northwestern, non more than Iowa. It's a different style of play, different kinds of players and strange environment compared to the rest of the Big Ten. I've been in Evanston for two Iowa losses in the past five years in Evanston. It really is odd. The building wasn't full and not loud, which I think throws off the opposing team. Then you see 5 guys who you would expect to see at the local YMCA. Then they use this style of play you haven't seen all season to take you out of your game and dictate tempo. On top of that they never seem to miss a shot down the stretch. No disrespect at all to Northwestern or it's fans that are here. It works for them and that's all that matters. It's just a completely different experience than you encounter in any other Big Ten road game. I hate it. By the way, ugly 60-49 win by Iowa at home over Minnesota today. An ugly win is still a win.
