  1. He's been playing really pathetic today. Another awful shot just about seals the deal. Didn't get the game here in Topeka, but it seemed like another Illinois road game --- has lead can't hold it because they can't shoot and can't hit free throws. Some of the highlights I've seen showed McBride holding Haluska. I hope that wasn't the case the whole game. If so, I see why Haluska scored 26. All I can say is thank goodness we didn't play in Columbus or in Madison this year. It was our team under Weber with his own recruits again. We had no offense and let a Chicago kid, who suprise we didn't get make two threes to beat us. Did Illinois fans actually want Freeman at the time though? I honestly do not know. It seemed like there were a lot of mixed opinions on him coming out of high school. I love his game, his attitude and confidence. He's just not a PG? I think he's the prototypical combo guard. Decent shooter, good passer/vision, average ball handling but not the right temprament to be a PG. Hopefully we can get a true PG to allow him to play off the ball next year because I think he can be very good in that role. No because we thought we weregonna get one of the following, Sherron Collins, Jeremy Pargo, Justin Dentmon, etc. It just really hurts that we whiffed on all of those kids and instead bring in an out of state kid who is very comparable to Freeman besides the fact he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat(Frazier). Or in other words another way to alienate the biggest pool of talent nearby.
  2. Well you bring in a subpar recruiting class for the 4th year in a row that's how. Oh and don't worry 5 is looking like crap as well. the only thing i can think of is to fire weber and hire gillespie. Not gonna happen. Gillespe isn't coming back after the way Guenther treated Self, what with locking him out of his office and what not. I am afraid we are stuck with this dork. i wouldn't rule it out. gillespie has to understand the situation. That may be but the damage is done. We are in trouble until at least 2010 with recruiting. This whole we don't need you crap has really worked wonders for us. The guy came off a national championship game and ended up with Chester Frazier, Jamar Smith, and Charles Jackson. Or in other words a nice class for a small conference school. i'm starting to hear great things about tisdale, and am actually getting excited about the kid. cole notsomuch, but we'll see. We need guards. I pray that DMAC can start and contribute right away. I fear Tisdale and Cole will both have to redshirt.
  3. Oh I agree. Law is unreal. Ohio State is pretty good too and everyone is sleeping on them. I can see OSU leaving early (Sweet 16/Elite 8-ish). Of course I can think of a way any team could be out early, there's no clear cut leader of the pack this year. They are what 15-1 in the big ten. I love how since you are from the big ten you are the team that will go out early. I think they have grown a lot and will be a very, very tough out. I don't see where Raisin said because OSU is from the Big Ten they will go out early. He also says he could see ANY team going out early this year. I was talking more about how everyone has been saying that. Also how weak the Big Ten is even though we could have two 1 seeds.

  6. I like Texas. But, KU is very good. It kills me too cause there two best (arguably) players and coach could have been ours. 3. rush wright collins it absolutely breaks my heart to watch them play. We were never going to get Rush. He wanted to be at UI, but was told you ain't gonna get in. At least that is what I have been told from several in the know in KC.
  7. If it weren't for the last two years, I'd have to agree. I wonder how much of it is mental now though. They'll be seeded high enough that there's no way they lose in the first round, so maybe winning that game will kick them into gear. At some point the 1 has to lose. God I hope it is this year.

  11. No you don't, you want to win. :P I do, but I don't expect the win even now. I've seen this play out a few times this season already. Cut down a big deficit on the road but end up losing (think @ Oregon, @ WVU). Told you. Gotta win the tourney now to get a 1-seed. Relax you have a good coach who isn't destroying your program. All is well in Bruin land. Eh, I'm fine. Saw this game coming but am disappointed all the same and I'm afraid of the ramifcations in terms of seeding. Oh, and I can't stand it when the fans storm the court and the players act like they just won the championship when they beat us...but I guess that's respect for the program. You guys are gonna be a 1. You and OSU are set. IF KU wins out they will get one. The other could be a few teams.

We had no offense and let a Chicago kid, who suprise we didn't get make two threes to beat us. I almost hope we miss the tournament. I want Bruce Weber gone, he has taken a top ten program and turned us into this. He has no control over his players, he can't recruit, and he has no idea how to coach an offense. Here's a novel thought, recruit someone who can go one on one. You know that way you don't have to heave a 30 footer at the end of the shot clock on every key posession.
  16. They could have at least put other.
  17. Oh Dice-K will win even if Young and Gordon are better. After all he is on one of the two chosen teams.
  18. So was Jeter his Shorstop? I am too lazy to read it. I mean his numbers pail in comparison to Tejada and Michael Young, yet he makes more. Or does this article also take into account clutchness and diving into a stand once?
  19. When does the ACC not have a great year? I don't think they are having a great year this year. UNC has underachieved, Duke is horribly overrated, I do like Maryland, Florida State is doing what they always do take top 100 players and go sub .450 in conference, Georgia Tech is way too young to be dangerous, Wake Forest quit fielding a team after CP3 left, BC and Clemson started great but have limped to the finish, Now the Virginia schools have done really awesome, and I am not sure if NC State or Miami even have teams. While good the Pac-10 is clearly the best league. I also like the Big East better. The ACC looks good because Carolina and Duke have not played up to expectations or were very overrated. Conference RPI says ACC is the best conference. And despite your digs at NC St and Miami, they're a lot better than the dregs of the Pac 10 (Arizona St and Oregon St). Oh by the way if BC and Clemson have limped to the finish, I'd like to hear your interpretation of the seasons that Arizona, Cal and Washington have had. Ok the conference RPI thing is great in the tourny I like the Pac 10 to go farther than the ACC. The only ACC team I really think that is athreat to get three rounds in is Carolina. That is unless the committee uses the vbdi to seed Duke a 2 in NC. Where as I think that UCLA, Washington State, Oregon, and Arizona all could do damage. Yes Arizona if they get in, which they always do. They also always beat or nearly beat someone they shouldn't two years ago Illinois and last year UCONN.
  20. Think about the fact that a 26 year old with no minor league experience is rated the number 1 prospect in all of baseball. Over Alex Gordon and Delmon Young.

  22. True, I dislike the Big 12 though for having too many teams. You guys never play the Texas schools twice in a year huh? What do you think of the Big East then? :D It sucks for the same reason. The Big Ten needs to lose a team as well. Oh and the last time the Big Ten was so down according to the experts we had two teams in the final four and three in the elite eight.
