  1. I wish this team gave us something to be optimistic about... Odds are we are gonna be in the race for the top draft pick again.
  2. 98 years, you really think odds has anything to do with this franchise?
  3. If I could fight one person, I'd fight Eckstein. David Eckstein. I would slap the crap out of him. Only if you stooped down to do so. Yeah I am like 6'6", but I would bend over to man handle him.
  4. If I could fight one person, I'd fight Eckstein. David Eckstein. I would slap the crap out of him.
  5. Yeah, but he's proven. Lou Piniella must really hate Murton and Pie. Coming into Chicago, he had a reputation for playing vets over young players. FWIW. Does he not play Theriot quite a bit? Sure, but when a young player has early success, it makes it easy. Guys like Bobby Cox will stick with a young guy even if he goes 3 for 26. I'm not saying Lou is going Dusty on us, but that is his reputation. Yeah but, they are a small market team that doesn't compete for championships. No, wait, that isn't it.
  6. If I ever run into him I am gonna knock him on his butt.
  7. STL could have a rotation of: Rick Ankiel Ronald McDonald Jose Macias Fausto Carmona Danny Graves and they'd all win at least 15 games... With a nothing offense. WHy couldn't Pujols have beat us? Then you go oh well. Nope it had to be Preston Wilson.
  8. Baseball sucks. The damn Cardinals run out a piece of crap middle reliever and he's gonna win 15 games for them. After winning the World Series with a team that won 83 games. Yet every good pitcher we have has their arm fall off.
  9. Wish we would have used Barrett there.
  10. Following this line of thinking, why aren't we starting Eyre yet?
  11. I really doubt there are many college teams that couldn't hit Looper. You mean before the cardinals needed him to start? Ridiculous.
  12. Do you have the whole lineup, or just this? So does this mean Murton or Pie sits. Dang, why does Blanco have to play? That's all I know right now. Murton could be in LF. We shall see... Where'd you hear/see this? Wouldn't make much sense to let Pie play vs. the LHP last night and then give him today off. Sounds like a Dusty move. LOL, Lou must feel Jacque will do better against Looper. Plus, if they want to trade Jones he will have to play... In a year where anyone can take this division I would hate to give away a bunch of games shopping a guy.
  13. I realize you're joking here but Golden State did go 3-0 against Dallas this year - although in the last game Dallas didn't play Nowitzki, Howard, or Stackhouse. I'm not saying Golden State will win the series but I don't see a Dallas sweep. Dallas in 6. Plus Dallas has the better Point Guards, who control the game. Plus you know Nellie wants to beat his old team. This wasn't the most ideal draw for the Mavs. They will win this series but, it won't be a cakewalk at all.
  14. Pie sits so Jacque can play center. It's a wonder this team never does anything.
  15. I thought the worst thing about last year's baseball season was Marlon Anderson taking away abs from Ethier. As soon as they got that guy I knew it was going to happen too. Organizations like Oakland and Atlanta have to just cringe when teams do this.
  16. Yeah that is for sure. I really don't get Anaheim. I don't think they have a game plan at all. They never gave McPherson, Kotchman, Morales, or Mathis 500 abs to see what they can/can't do. Yet they have no problem playing crap like Rob Quinlan, Darin Erstad, and to a lesser extent Chone Figgins everyday. Personally I would have kept Wood at SS. I mean McPherson was good enough they let a 25 year old Troy Glaus walk and then never gave him a shot. Why are any of us to believe they will ever give Wood a fair chance? Sorry for the rant. That Cabrera signing was horrible. Cabrera blocks Wood and Aybar. You could probably move either one of them or both to a different position, but why not just use Figgins at SS until one of these guys was ready? Another position you could put Aybar is in CF. With GMJ there for the next 5 years, what becomes of Aybar? Anaheim's gameplan hasn't been very good. I will agree with you on that. No it hasn't, but I would kill to have their scouting director. They are just loaded in the minors every year.
  17. It gives the Yankees someone to throw out at 3B. And the Yankees would be just fine without A-Rod's bat. They've still got Damon, Jeter, Abreu, Giambi, Posada, they won't be hurting for offense at all. And Tabata on the way.

  19. I agree, but seeing him in person a few times last year I fear that it wasn't so much an off year as the talent level caught up with him. He had guys that were crap pitchers blowing it by him. I went for one series and he didn't put a single good swing on any ball. I know it was one series, but still I question his ability to make enough contact at the highest level. Especially when compared with elite prospects. Now compared to our systems guys, heck yeah I would take him as our short in a heartbeat. Edit: I also have a huge man love thing for Maybin. I hope he becomes what CPATT was supposed to.
  20. You do know that they moved him to 3b because he's blocked at SS by Cabrera, right? Yeah, but wouldn't he also be blocked here by the glove that hits .400?
  21. I think I read somewhere also that Narron had a pre-existing relationship with him. I wanna say his son played high school ball with him and that is why they felt like they could take the gamble. I hope he does well. I hate to see guys snort talent away. I also like to believe we, as people, can overcome anything.
