  1. Amauri Hardy will probably be one of them, from what I have read. I wonder if DJW and Jordan stay with the team. yay? if losing pickett doesn't hurt, landing hardy doesn't help. I get they are ranked around the same, but it is about fit. Pickett is very similar to Malcolm Hill in style, not as talented, that style doesn't really fit in Underwood's style of play.
  2. I think Cuonzo would have flipped Tilmon anyways, Pickett I think realizes he isn't a fit for the style Underwood wants to play. I doubt he ends up at Missouri.

  4. Pickett is a top 250 kid, that one doesn't really hurt. Need to keep Frazier though. I'd probably offer Verge now and wait a year for him to qualify.
  5. I'm just really bullish on the improvement that Russell made from year one to two and think he will stay at the premium defensive position. Might not matter though with the way Bryant hits. I was just poking at the language/math of saying Russell would be the "best one of the three" when he was not one of the three to begin with. Ah yes, words best me. Best of the four.
  6. And there is a small chance that Russell could end up being the best one of the three, even if it is small. if Russell becomes the best of those three, some weird horsefeathers will have happened.I'm just really bullish on the improvement that Russell made from year one to two and think he will stay at the premium defensive position. 8. It might, but we have been burnt so many times I am considering him gone. I'm sure this has nothing to do with Martin showing up at his high school last week. Eh, Martin is still Martin x' and o's wise. Very true
  9. I really hope they don't waste another dime on recruiting this kid. I have heard so much noise about him not qualifying and then he pulls this, let him go. his mom is confident that it works out for the Illini. but you never know. 11. what's crazy is with these guys if anything it's been the opposite of what he was saying . none of the scouting reports had guys like javy, addy, KB, etc. as great as they are defensively. of course, considering addy and JB were shortstops, they were supposed to be pretty good to good but there wasn't really talk of them being elite impact/difference making defensive players (in fact, some reports even questioned whether they could stick at SS)...and obviously there were some iffy reports on KB at 3B (not saying there weren't good ones too). i just don't think the scouting reports were as high as they should've been on these guys as defenders when they were coming up. There were questions about Addy sticking at SS? I thought he had the "double plus hands". I only read questions about arm strength. Just never read he was a plus plus defender.
  12. I honestly hear Danning Manning a lot and they point to the work he has done developing post players. I want to bring up that Manning is struggling at Wake and that Self turned Robert Archibald and Damir Krujpalia into pro post players before he ever worked with Danny, but I realize they're irrational and no one remembers those old Illinois players. lol. Basically Carlton Bragg killed your team this year. His lack of development made your team uneven big time towards the wings. lol, manning. I mean, I thought Danny did a nice job with our bigs, too, but c'mon. And yes, Bragg was a disaster. Losing Udoka was a big blow, too. I honestly forgot about Udoka. I think the fans here are insane, you guys win 30 games every damn year and they don't get everyone gets bounced in the tournament. Hell, Williams is as good as it gets and he couldn't win one at Kansas.
  13. That was ugly basketball at the end. Both teams were clearly gassed. That said, amazing shot.
  14. Feel bad for Frank Mason, hell of a player. Some of your fans are insane, calling for Self to be on the hot seat..... He's, for my money, the best coach in college. People are dumb. Who are you gonna get that's better? Coach K? Cal? Roy (who couldn't win here)? I feel bad for Frank too. Basically a worst case scenario game. Jackson makes two dumb fouls. Graham--who's just a hero ball chucker who happens to hit at a decent clip--can't hit anything. We force a stop and fight each other for the board, losing it to them (twice). Their guy is banking buzzer beaters. It is what it is. If I had one issue with the coaching it's that I wish Self could've gotten them to play a little smarter when when we were trying to close the gap. We had a bunch of consecutive stops, but the offensive possessions were pretty hero ball-y. But that team sorta was famous for that all season. Self let them be a little wild, and it worked. Until it didn't. I honestly hear Danning Manning a lot and they point to the work he has done developing post players. 15. You are, act like a blue blood FFS. You know I'm a huge [expletive] when it comes to cbb. ALthough the pressure feels much lighter considering the Cubs won the WS. 17. Need one more Big Ten win today.
  18. Not a done deal yet, but from the way Whitman has handled things, I cannot see him messing that up.
  19. Walker probably also has the keys to Mark Smith as well.
  20. Yeah, that is huge. They had to keep him.
  21. Right, I like the hire. A little surprised at the timing of it though.
  22. Especially since they named Walker the intern and he would then be suspended if they were selected. But, it won't happen. What's this? Something with the end of the Miami tournament game from a few years back. I believe Walker got so heated after he drew a two game suspension from the Tournament as a result.

  24. And yet, they somehow got Ben Simmons to go there.
