  1. Soto should be playing more than Kendall is. He's become too much of a liability defensively. Why should Soto play? He is only better at every part of baseball. So true. That's good stuff right there. It is pretty much like when we played Lenny Harris over Mark Bellhorn everyday in '03.
  2. I could have told you that. The only way that they make the playoffs is if they randomly get hot like they did in June. But even then, it would only be a mirage as this team just isn't that good. No team in the central is good though and any team no matter how good or bad they are can get hot over 20 games. The division is still up for grabs. That team looks to be the Brewers If they do that's going to give them confidence to really be a dangerous team for years to come. They can flat out rake. Yup and considering that state the Cubs franchise will be in this offseason, this might be the first year since 2002 where I have no hope of competing before the season starts. If they get rid of Hendry I have a better feeling going in than I have since '04. Unfortunately I don't think there's any hope of Hendry being gone before '08, at least not until the ownership situation is settled. Good lord, if so Hendry is a cat. He has torpedoed this franchise.

  5. Can you imagine being named Nyjer?
  6. Hey look another guy who isn't a big leaguer on the mound. Can someone let the Cubs know they are tied for first place.

  8. DeRosa doing anything good here would really help.
  9. Marshall is obviously hurt Paulino struck out swinging Then I would rather we go with Gallagher. Hell I would rather we tell Wood to let it fly til his arm falls off. Trachsel has nothing.
  10. he'd probably be a solid 3/4 at boise I wonder if Russ Ortiz wasn't available. After all he won 20 games once.
  11. Part of the blame falls on Hendry with this one, considering the production the Cubs have gotten out of Koyie Hill and Rob Bowen while Geovany Soto goes and wins the friggin PCL MVP. However, I think putting Pie out there every day would work out for the best. Let him play through his slumps; he'll be fine. Plus it would help us going forward. We have no idea what he will do now again next year.
  12. Hey Lou I know where you can find an inning for Sean. In the rotation. Lou is almost as bad as Dusty.
  13. If Lou wouldn't stop putting useless junk in the starting lineup at C, CF, and RF, we'd be better off. Kendall done well. Who else plays CF? Pie has been clueless at the plate. So has Jones. Pie can field and at some point he has to learn to hit at the big league level.
  14. The Brewers and it isn't even close.
  15. you can tell if you gave bob a beer he would tell you how much Tracshel sucks.
  16. it's the pathetic cubs' fault, not the pirates'. notice how their cf ran toward the ball as opposed to away from it? interesting. Maybe because their centerfielder is a centerfielder. We have a right fielder there. One who doesn't hit. Because if Pie plays everyday he would blow up.
  17. Not last year thanks to the Cubs. Yeah one time in the last 10 years. Way to go Pirates.
  18. Where would he hit in the Milwaukee lineup? 7th? He wouldn't. He can't sniff Prince Fielder.
  19. screw you pirates. play like this against the brewers and cardinals and maybe you wouldn't be in last place every freaking year.
  20. That's not exactly true. He can't hit his weight in all but 1 month of the season, where he goes out of mind in order to make his season stats look respectable. That's fine and all, but if Pie is playing this is still 3-2. The fact he is playing everyday is a joke.
  21. Way to hit the ball hard again Derek.
  22. Honestly? Well you have a guy who can't hit his weight in Centerfield, oh and he can't field all that well. You have the best player in AAA at Catcher, but he can't play because you know he is too young. There are probably 15 guys in the minor leagues most teams would rather have starting than Steve Tracshel.
  23. Why does Piniella keep going with this guy? Now is not the time to have an automatic loss in the rotation. It worked in '03 with Estes I guess. Yes, but Prior, Wood, Clement, Z >>>>> Z, Lilly, Marquis, Trachsel I know. I don't see us making the playoffs this year. We made a nice run, but this team has a lot of holes. And like you said unlike in '03 we don't have a Wood and Prior.
  24. Even the years when we do ok, it is obvious Hendry is not a good GM. Nice play Jacque.
