  1. Earlier they made fun of a heavy set gentleman in cubs gear. They are a classy organization no doubt about it. The organization did? The announcers did. After the camera man pulled him aside from everyone else.
  2. Yep, he's done a good job this year. Now it's up to his teammates to pick him up and score some runs in the 9th. Dempster - ERA after today 3.5+. SOs/IPs = 48/55 Marmol ERA 1.45. 77/56 Saves are misleading. Dempster gets hit hard and doesn't strike out enough guys to be a good closer which is why he is constantly in trouble even when he does get lucky saves. Lucky saves? Is this a stat? Yes, 25 saves with a 3.5 ERA. Does anyone really think that a well ran organization has both Mamrol and Dempster on their team, yet lets Dempster close?
  3. I would hardly consider Loney and Ethier to be "skid marks". they are compared to the guys the Cubs have. No they aren't. Especially Loney. Just because they're young and you don't know who they are, doesn't mean they aren't good. It just means you should pay more attention. Meanwhile, our youngsters either can't hit, can't show up for the games on time, or if they can hit, languish on the bench behind a guy who can't hit and can't throw anyone out. And that has nothing to do with you calling Loney a "skid mark" when he clearly isn't. Yeah, you're right. I'd sure choose him over Derrek Lee. He's fantastic. I might right now, in two years I definately would.
  4. This one, the mets one in shea, the philadelphia one after we had taken the lead, or the one in Atlanta? Which one is our low point?
  5. Earlier they made fun of a heavy set gentleman in cubs gear. They are a classy organization no doubt about it. Best fans in baseball  I wonder if they declare the season over when their stopper blows a 1 run lead. Wait do they have a history of winning titles or are they the ones who haven't won in 98 years?
  6. Yeah, until he blows a save. Then let's go back to Dempster. Marmol rarely gives up hits in his innings, Demp gets into jams every 2 or 3 save ops. Part of Demps problem is he doesn't have a big put away pitch. Hence all the hits on 0-2 counts. Marmol does not have that problem.
  7. I would hardly consider Loney and Ethier to be "skid marks". I wish we could call them our skid marks. Give me Kemp too.

  9. and he doesn't get any of them out. let marmol close for the love of god.
  10. I would at the very least hit one of their batters now.
  11. I just wonder if he will be able to handle the high pressure games to come, or if he will have a mental break again. What does it mean for a hitter to have a mental break? Just start swinging at everything, missing pitches by 6 feet? I was thinking more problems with fielding and throwing to be honest.
  12. Is this coming as a surprise to anyone? That freaking team could sign Neifi Perez and Jose Macias and drag 100 OPS+ seasons out of both of them, complete with gold gloves. No they couldn't, and Ankiel isn't that big of surprise because we've known all along he could hit. He hit in the .260s in the minors. He is hititng in the .360s now. He hit a ton of homers. Fontenot OPSed over 1000 for a while as well. Theriot OPSed a lot over his norm last year. Ok, and if Ankiel comes back to his level a lot of us will shut up.
  13. What you don't get scared of Brendan Ryan?
  14. I just wonder if he will be able to handle the high pressure games to come, or if he will have a mental break again.
  15. wow, pathetic inning. Come on Dempster.
  16. I don't think anyone expected he'd have a 1.100 OPS at this point. I would've expected the slugging to be reasonably high, but he can't sustain the OBP. Well he never walked a lot in the minors. Now batting in front of Pujols, a position where you will always get pitched too, he is walking. Now part of that is the Cardinals have played a lot of home games lately, but still it is ridiculous that his patience is getting better at the big league level.
  17. Jones, Kendall, Fontenot due up don't count on it. Watching Fontenot hit makes me wish Patterson could have shown up on time.
  18. Unbelievable I would really like to see that guy get tested. Why? They don't test for HGH s it's pretty much worthless. Fair enough, but that guy has a completely new body now.

  21. man those 5 games with St Louis are either going to be very great, or kill a lot of us.
