  1. I'd change that ASAP, our guys are all out of gas and we've been slumping pretty badly. Neither out of gas nor slumping... Duke just isn't good. They'll lose in the 2nd Round or Sweet Sixteen. Duke is good. They should be better than they are though. Nolan Smith should be their starting point guard, but since he is burried behind Paulus the team isn't as good as it should be. Well that and they have no post players.
  2. I'm the same way. I always pick KU, even when I know better. I don't have that problem this year. No in seriousness do two pools. One were you pick your team and then one where you really think about it. Although in KU and UNC's cases I guess you at leas talways have a shot. Try having this dilemna when your team is a 12 seed.
  3. Tennessee and Kansas had identical records (KU with one less loss) and Tennessee played a significantly tougher schedule. I'm sorry we lost as many games as Kansas when we were playing better teams. Maybe everybody should schedule toward the lower end of the RPI top 100 if that's what the committee rewards. Meh, I wouldn't complain if we were a two and you were a one, but you got to coast through the SEC. And you lost in your tourney. And we really are a better team. But as far as resumes go, yours is better. Based off how they beat the number one team in america on said teams court and you guys didn't play anyone near that good at all? Or based on how every good team you played, you either squeaked by or lost to? You might be better, but I don't think you can just state that as fact because you feel like it. Sure I can. And I think Texas is just as good Tennessee and perhaps as good as Memphis. Even for teams with a strong inside presence (KU, UCLA), they've been formidable. I'm biased. Of course, you are too. You probably hate KU more than I like them. I actually kinda like KU's team this year. Mario Chalmers is the best guard in the country that no one ever talks about. I hate their fans though.
  4. I am off the whole weekend and plan on doing just that. The UNC thing is a joke. Yes they have to beat all of the teams to win, but playing more of them than the other 1 seeds is where I see the problem. They earned the number 1 overall seed, thus they should have the easier road. They will play an IU team that was near the top ten the entire year in round two(yes IU fans you are going to win that game vs Arkansas). But, then Kansas plays Kent State or UNLV. I don't see any Eric Gordon or D.J. White's on those rosters. UNC has a shot to go down in any round. I can't see KU losing before the elite eight and that isn't because KU is better than UNC. I think it's funny that you've spent all year talking about how bad IU is, and now all the sudden they're a looming danger to UNC. Of course, you're right now, inasmuch as IU is under-seeded and is a tough 2nd round match-up. But given that you've played both sides of the fence, you had to be right one of those times. Aside from that, I don't see that much difference in our two brackets. I'd rather face ND than Clemson (advantage UNC), but I'd rather face Vandy than Wazzu (advantage KU). As for the two seeds, in a vacuum,Tennessee is better than Georgetown, but they're also a easier matchup for UNC. Yep me saying they weren't top ten good(they weren't) nor better than Xavier(they aren't) waa what I said. I think they should be right around a 5. Not an 8. Also don't you think any team with two all americans are a threat to anyone in a single elimination style tournament?
  5. Zona is a nightmare. They either get beat right away or go crazy and get to UCLA. I always hate having to deal with them in the tourny bracket I do.
  6. They could, but UNC has to dodge bullets starting in round 2. KU doesn't. Maybe I should be more angry with the IU seed more than anything. They were like 12 all year long and then get an 8 seed.

Texas is every bit as good as Memphis, and KU went 1-1 against them without facing them at home, while Texas took Tennessee behind the woodshed. Again I don't know how you can say that. Until Texas plays Memphis we can't say that with any certainty. Texas is a flawed team, I love their guards, but any team with any post players should handle them. Memphis played the toughest non-conference schedule in basketball and only lost one game. I think it is hard to say that one of them is better than other, but if forced to I would go with Memphis.

  10. Yeah, UNC got thoroughly screwed. There are basically two 1 seeds and a near-two seed (Louisville) in their region. Easily the toughest of the four. UNC fans are also upset at IU being the #8. Now, as an IU fan, I think the Hoosiers will lose to Arkansas. Still, IU should've been higher and having to (potentially) face two Wooden Award candidates in the second round isn't much of a reward for the #1 overall team. UNC is going to run you off the court. I doubt that matchup occurs; like I said, I think Arkansas beats IU. If IU does win, UNC will crush them, I agree. You guys got hosed. Oklahoma is seeded higher than you. In what world have they done more to warrant a higher seed than you?

  12. Yeah, UNC got thoroughly screwed. There are basically two 1 seeds and a near-two seed (Louisville) in their region. Easily the toughest of the four. Yeah, but in KU's I only see Georgetown and KU.
  13. Taken into consideration...but like I said, Tennessee played a brutal non-con schedule and ended up with a significantly better strength of schedule (#1 for UT vs #50 for Kansas). That should outweigh a slight difference inside the conferences. If Tennessee wanted No. 1 seed, they should have won the SEC tournament. Their resume was similar to that of Kansas in the regular season but they flamed out in the SEC semis. Kansas won the tournament. Or they should have not played so many good teams early in the season.
  14. Can someone explain to me how KU was the lowest 1 seed, yet has a much easier region than UNC? Tennessee could have been a 1, so they should be in with Kansas not UNC. The committee missed the boat on that one.
  15. Good lord I cannot wait until Legion and Smith are playing and Meachum and Frazier are waching.
  16. I can see Weeks and Hall, but you really think Hart s that good? I thought he had a heck of a year last year and might struggle to do that again.
  17. They make 5/9 3s again and it is going to be tough for us to hang with them.
  18. it will be difficult for the Illini to score in the 50's even 4 games in as many days could hurt our shooting a bit. We need Meachum to have a big game, but he is due.
  19. I really wish we were playing anyone but Wisky in the finals. We do not match up well with them.
  20. All 4 of MSU bigs have fouled out. No Wisky players have. Way to go Ed.
  21. All of this might be true, but give me the chance to get the lead at the line everytime.
  22. I think Illinois matches up much better against Michigan State than Wisconsin. Gotta beat Minnesota first, though. I agree one game at a time.
  23. His high school one was better. From his backside he hit a shot to win the state title.
  24. No it was a good game down to the last 30 seconds. At which point I thought the referees played far too big a role.
  25. At this point, it kinda looks like the B10 is the least of the issues with the mess down in ATL at the SEC tourney though. But yeah, it is a small problem for them, but all they have to do is have 2 scenarios. ILL or Minny in at a 13 seed or the bracket as it would otherwise be. Not a huge deal. The only problem is all the bracket rules. They can't just put Ill or Minn anywhere, they have to put them where they won't meet another Big 10 team in 1 of the first 2 rounds. And there's a lot of Big 10 teams swirling around those types of seeds (3-6) so it likely won't be a matter of just swapping 1 team out and 1 team in. They will create 2 scenarios for it, but it will take a little bit of work to get it right. I just saw the 2 fouls called for White in the last 4 seconds and was able to replay them a few times. I thought the first call was absolutely horrible (if anything, they could have called a foul on White for pushing his guy in the back), and the second call I agreed with. The Refs tried to gift wrap it, but the miracle kid from MU was having no part of it.
