First pitch swinging again.

Complaining about first pitch swinging to lead off the game? Its not like Martin had shown to be wild, or it was the 5th and we were about to knock him out. Looks to me like he's complaing about first pitch swinging in just about every Theriot PA, or at least first strike swinging. But why is patience only a virtue in the 5th? It certainly isn't a virtue only late. But jumping on a hitter simply for swinging early is misplaced. While I did not see the pitches (radio), getting a good pitch to lead off the game is a common occurance. While certainly not the only two options, I would rather have a hitter get a good cut on a pitch he was looking for on pitch 1 rather than a defensive swing in an 0-2 count. I don't disagree, but in the top of the first Wells had a very small zone to work with, it might have paid off to actually see if that was going to be the case all game.

Theriot has been like that all year. His pitches per plate apperance are among the lowest on the team.

Yeah but come on, we had to throw our $90 mil ace, our 2nd ace with supposedly the best stuff, and our "stud" rookie pitcher in the series. Plus all of our regulars were healthy. With those limitations, its amazing that we could even win 1. I don't think our guys are even trying, pathetic.

We're so bad that even when we have a "heads up play" it ultimately doesn't benefit us because we mess it up. It makes no sense why he's still playing shortstop. He's a second basemen. We, as a team don't hit, we might as well have Blanco's great glove in at short.

holliday, brendan ryan, ryan ludwick with runners in scoring position, joel pineiro, chris carpenter's health/performance, trever miller. but yeah they're better than people were giving them credit for. Ah, completely forgot about Pineiro. Not sure how I did that. Miller's a reliever and we all know how inconsistent they are. Carpenter was sort of due to be healthy for the majority of a season sooner or later. Holliday was obviously going to be a better player than he was in Oakland (maybe not 1.300 OPS good, but good nonetheless) and I've sort of given up on judging Ludwick. I guess what I'm trying to say is they're winning with legitimate players this year compared to the last couple of seasons. Molina and Pujols are also having huge jumps from anything they have ever had in reguards to OPS+, look at what Lugo has done for them, and come on with the Carp thing. I guess we should sign Prior, he's due to have a healthy season.

Good, they were brutal to Sammy and Corey before they left and they both took dumps with more talent than Miles.
