  1. At this point I think he's been watching basketball for about three years. There is no way you can argue Purdue over any of that other four. I don't know as much about the other schools, but I know that Illinois hasn't been playing as long as Purdue. Yet we have, more wins, a better winning percentage, more final fours, more big ten tourny titles. Plus since World War two we have more Big Ten regular season titles. All of that and I would have us about 3rd or 4th in Big Ten history.
  2. They are? Sure they are.... If you get rid of OSU, Mich, MSU and Illinois. Also, I dont see why you have to go to divisions in basketball. I hope they don't I hate what it does to the Big 12. If you are in the easier side, you always have an advantagein the conference as the other side beats up on itself.

  4. According to Rivals there are 40 freshman better than Brandon Paul.
  5. I don't know this for sure, but the ADs have to look at all of their sports. Sure it might be great for football, but can they afford to travel with the smaller teams?
  6. Yep, anyone from the SEC is gonna love the current set up. I love the whole this system makes money. No crap, you think a playoff wouldn't?
  7. No Chance. Even if they win like 55-10 and Texas wins like 17-14? Texas would have beaten a team that already dominated Florida in a game that was way more important to Florida. Writers will write it off as Florida not having their heart in the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few 1st place votes their way, but I'd be stunned to see anything close to a majority. Regardless of what happens in the BCS games, I wouldn't be shocked to see 1 voter throw a 1st place vote to a secondary undefeated team out of protest. I want there to be 3 undefeateds left at the end of this. They gotta get a playoff.
  8. I think that's an extremely remote possibility. If Florida had kept it close against Alabama and Texas squeaked by in the title game I'd give it more of a chance. Cincy can't play defense. Florida is going to maul them. Right, but there is a chance this could happen. Why would you want to hire a guy who would walk away from a team plaing for a slight shot at the title? The same reason Rich Rodriguez was talking to Michigan when his team was on the brink of playing for a more-than-slight shot at a title. No disrespect to Cincinnati, but when coaches are given an opportunity to go to brand-name schools in college sports, they do it. I get that, but never at the expense of their current season. I get once the seasons over you do what's bestfor you and your family. But, until that time you owe it to the school paying you and the kids you recruited to finish the season.

  11. Is there any chance that if the title game is close and Cincy blows out Fla that they could win the title? If so seems odd Kelly would leave before coaching that game.
  12. Well at least whoever comes in won't inherit a BCS caliber team creating an immediate false hope for BCS every year. I would love the 49ers to get Tate, even though we definitely won't. He has always seemed a top notch prospect at WR (once he switched from RB). He has great physical tools and seems to have a knack for getting open. Wait, I am derailing this but, you're a Purdue, Cub, 49ers, and Rockets fan? WTF??
  13. I dont know about all that. Aramis was coming off a horrible season the year before and the pirates weren't high on him. Dlee was more of a salary dump by the Marlins and they saw Choi as a good prospect to replace Lee. Patterson i do agree with you that we could've gotten good value for him when he was a prospect. As for Pie, again I doubt it because he wasn't exactly tearing it up and the cubs did explore trades for him and other prospects at the time but nothing popped up worthwhile. I dont think you can name one player we could've gotten for Pie that was worth doing. You make it seem as if the Cubs top Prospects in those years were of great discussion in trades as the Yankee and Red sox prospects are nowadays. No I am not syaing they were, but part of that is because we deemd a few of them untoachable when they were younger. Pie was ripping it up at both AA and AAA. I really think we mishandled him the most. Not only did we not value him like we should have, we didn't even showcase him for a trade. Especially frustrating when we had such a goos team in '08 there was no reason not to give him at least 400 at bats.
  14. We shouldn't really cry about prospects getting hyped. How hyped were Corey Patterson, Bobby Hill, and Hee Seop Choi? Hyped enough we landed Aramis Ramirez and DLee for them. Had we traded Patterson before it was clear he was a flop we could have had any player in baseball basically back. It happens all the time to the big market teams. The Yankees just seem to be better at dealing the guys. Felix Pie we could have traded for some great value had we not made it look like he was a platoon guy. This is on Hendry to me more than anything else.
  15. This reminds me a lot of the "I'm in it for the long haul" speech that Self gave while at Illinois. Hours before he was driving the family to Lawerence.
  16. The way that the Royals have been trying to add really young arms, I would think they would want Jay Jackson or Chris Carpenter.
  17. The Nats should be shopping Adam, but there isn't anything in the Cards system they should want. Since they can't trade Miller or Stock until June.
  18. Steve Philips says you are dead wrong buddy.
  19. from mlbtraderumors.com Definitely couldn't complain about that. The royals are going to ask for more than just bradley, they'll probably ask for a pitcher or two. How would you guys feel if they asked for Marshall on top of bradley. Depends on how much money changes hands. Meche's shoulder injury makes me leery. Plus the Royals were just stupid with him this year. He threw a lot of pitches this year in a decent amount of games it seems.
  20. The year that Mizzou watched two teams they beat play in BCS bowls while they didn't told me all I need to know about the BCS.
  21. So lol at everyone who was ready for the Cubs season to be over so we could get to the Bears and Bulls.
  22. And we don't play them for another 9 weeks. Nothing good about this. I imagine that two broken vertabrae will cause him to be a different player for most of this year anyways.
  23. Evan Turner out 8 weeks. That sucks. Easily my favorite player in America to watch.
  24. Minnesota got hurt by Royce White getting kicked off the team. He would have helped them out a ton.
  25. Yes, his teams always compete. Yea I agree. He really never has the top talent, but always finds a way to compete. I hate playing his teams I know that Harris last year they had pretty good talent. But yeah, they are never the most talented team in the conference, but every year at the end there they are.
