So let me get this straight ... because MJ retired you are saying the Bulls decided not to try and replace Horace Grant? If anything MJ retiring would make them want to replace Horace Grant even more because they knew they would be hurting. Probably not with the same sense of urgency since they didn't think they would have Jordan to compete for the title. This shouldn't be that hard to understand. You had a nice two year run because Jordan retired for, gasp, two years. Must have been a coincidence. :roll:

Yeah cause that next year after he knocked the rust off, he really sucked. They limped to the playoffs and lucked out once they got there. GTFOOH. The bulls easily win the first year he's out, hell they almost did without him if it wasn't for Hue Hollins being awful. He doesn't retire you are looking at 8 in a row. The rust was off in the playoffs. I just showed you that Jordan did as well in those playoffs as the years before and after. His being gone was not the reason you lost the second year. He was back for the playoffs the second year and was every bit as dominant. You got beat early in the playoffs because everyone not named Pippen and Jordan didn't do well. I wonder if MJ had never left if we would had let Horace Grant walk??? Nope probably not. horace had made the decision to walk before jordan decided to retire. one of the reasons he had decided to leave was jordan himself. mj ran him off, he hated him with a passion. True, but you have to think we would have replaced him if MJ was still playing.

Tourney started in the last 30s I believe. I know they have 5 "legit" titles First tournament was 1939. IU has five real titles and didn't (evidently) retroactively make a contemporary trophy for themselves of a fictitious championship (not an Illinois dig, just so there is no confusion). I don't think we even made a trophy, we didn't hang a banner. I don't think anyways.

If we can solve Taylor Battle we could be sitting pretty in the Big Ten. But, can't see us beating any of the top 3. I think we can beat Wisconsin or Purdue at home. I hope you're right. I don't see the Purdue one at all though.

Your missing your best player. I know. It doesn't show in the W/L column, but watching this year's team has been enjoyable. There are at least signs of light with this team. I don't think Crean is god by any stretch, but he's building the program up incrementally. The lull in recruiting now is scary, but he gets his kids to play hard.
