  1. I'm not gonna watch a game. It's Cub Baseball time for me.
  2. Yeah Jordan, Cole, and Keller shouldn't play much.
  3. Missing the tourny might help keep DMac around. He's Deron Williams lite. I think he would have really turned heads on the national stage.
  4. I think there is a good chance that at least one of Johnson or Moore go pro. I also think that Hummel won't be as good after his second major injury in as many years. I still think you will be a really good team though. Johnson would be crippling, I would much rather loose Moore. If we lost both of those guys I could see us in the bottom half, next year. Doesn't Johnson come from a dirt poor family? Isn't it entirely plausible that after this year the NBA changes the way it does it's rookie salaries, thus making it very important to declare now before the rookie pay scale is cut by two thirds? Doesn't Painter and the rest of this kid's people tell him he needs to jump at the chance to get paid? He has to at least declare, imo.
  5. It'd be hilarious if OSU lost Koufos and Mullens early, and Turner winds up staying all 4 years. But I can't imagine a scenario where that happens. He says he loves school. Although the injury this year might make him love the millions more.

  7. I think Evan Turner comes back. I think Illinois is improved again through talent injection. I still think that we struggle to close in close games and lose games we should have won. I also predict we go into year 8 of not having a single, effective out of bounds play. Oh and Jereme Richmond makes sulley look bad bad coming out and being a lot better than either Meyers or Crandall. Sorry Sulley, I'll gladly be proven wrong on that last one.
  8. There's a much stronger advantage in basketball than football though. Their football program doesn't have the tradition and the in-state talent level is higher comparatively in basketball than football. Our football program has 5 National Titles and according to ESPN the number 1 player of all time(Grange) and another top 5 guy(Butkus). Oh, come on. Purdue basketball fans get ripped for claiming a Helms title and you're going to hang Illinois' hat on 5 football 'titles', the most recent being 60 years ago? With four of them between 1914 and 1927? No, he gets ripped for saying they are one of the best programs in the Big Ten. I am just saying we have a better tradition in football, not that it is better than the best of the Big Ten. See the difference? Oh and also we have a Helms title, but don't claim it.

  10. and, like i said, self wasn't a very good recruiter while at illinois. The class he had together for the year after Deron was going to be pretty special. He had CV, RM, WC, and BR. All of them were very highly ranked. I think he was starting to become a monster recruiter even at Illinois.
  11. Can you live up to the legacy of the 2009 Nittany Lions? Prolly not.
  12. It looks like Cirque Du Soleil is at Assembly Hall from 3/17-3/21. I predict a first round Illini loss.Nah, they've played much better on the road for the last month. Who cares? The real question is do we hang a banner if we win this thing? I've already emailed Saint Ron Guenther in opposition to any recognition of this teams post season achievements. He had better not hang anything. No need to celebrate this, at all.
  13. As an outsider, I am starting to wonder myself. The big argument against him is that his best teams in his tenure weren't his guys. I've been hearing about all the awesome recruiting classes Illinois was getting and I have yet to see the results. I know next year you are supposed to be getting a good class coming in so I'd probably reserve judgement for at least a season or two. He whiffed for 3 of 4 years. 05, 06, and 08 yielded nothing. Lack of depth and turnover within the program has plagued the last few years. Freshmen were not going to lead us to the promised land this year. Yeah the big classes were '09, 10, '11. Only one has made it to campus. He needs to keep adding talent to the '11 class though. If he starts to slow down on that front he really will need to go.
  14. They need to be a lock next year. There are absolutely no excuses for next season. Yeah, I am pretty much relegated to thinking he has to get in next year or he has to go.
  15. When did you start hating the ACC so much? I don't hate the ACC. I think they were weak this year and Va Tech shouldn't have been in. I'm not alone (obviously). I seem to recall you saying that only 5 teams in the ACC deserved a bid. Also, you were begging to get Duke and complaining that they were ahead of Syracuse and West Virginia, when Duke is number 1 in Pomeroy's and Sagarin's predictor rankings. EDIT: Also, the ACC is #1 is Pomeroy's conference rankings and #3 and Sagarin's. Out of the ones though I would want them as well.
  16. So Illinois fans, a legit question. Is the seat getting hot now?
  17. RPI is terrible if only 2 of Long Beach St., Northeastern, Utah, New Mexico St. TWICE, and Louisiana Tech are at 100+. They beat BYU, and lost to St. Mary's. Those were their only games against teams with a chance at an at large. Their resume doesn't touch Illinois with all their quality wins. Hey now, his team had Robbie Humell on it. That makes him a basketball expert. He also roots for a team that is among the top 2 historically best teams in the Big Ten's history. I'm aware. I think it's them and Iowa, but whatever.
  18. Enjoy the end of your "dream" season. Way to be a [expletive]. Typical Illinois fan. Oh I didn't get my way so I'm going to take the low road. EDIt: I will enjoy my dream season. Next year when all but Kramer and Grant are back. I was wishing you luck.

  20. Yeah, the minnesota game cost us.
  21. Enjoy the end of your "dream" season.
  22. They got the best 2 seed. It's ridiculous So many power conference teams, too. Kind of frustrating. MSU, Georgetown, tOSU, Tennessee.... lots of good teams. Won't matter LeHigh is gonna beat you. our last 1st round run-in with a Patriot League team didn't go so hot. Lol, true.
  23. Which team's do you think should have been out? And really? You're going to blame the refs? UTEP, Florida, Minnesota, and Utah State scream hello.

  25. After all that talk about the eye test as well. This sucks.
