  1. I am absolutely going to all 5 games games at NO Zephyr Field. It's the first few days of my vacation. I take it you have no kids? I go to a game and watch maybe two innings.
  2. I understand how good Russell is and I've not said a bad thing about that portion of the deal. But Shark is a legit TOR pitcher and he has fewer innings on his arm than pretty much any 29 year old stud you're going to find. We got a great talent, but we gave up a great talent too and the 2nd and 3rd pieces are intriguing, but questionable. Not a bad deal by any stretch, but I'm not sure it's exciting either. It's certainly not a bad deal, but just 1-2 days ago we were hearing that the asking price for Samardzija alone was 3 top prospects plus one other. It will be interesting to see what kind of deal the FO makes for pitching by using the surplus offensive prospects. Vogelbach, Soler, Almora, and Alcantara could all be expendable depending on how prospects develop and take to playing new positions. Three top 100 guys. We got a top 5 guy. This isn't that hard to figure out.
  3. you think SS's like Castro grow on trees? If they did, we own that tree. See Tim's list.
  4. probably not. most of these idiots don't realize how immensely valuable russell is. We have three top ten players who can play in the infield. I am giddy over this deal. We have so many prospects to get excited over. It's insane.
  5. Wait, we just added a top 5 guy who plays middle infield. Forget that we have Baez, if we didn't have him I think everyone would be going bananas over this deal. As they should be.
  6. I agree, I honestly think that if he stays healthy he's our safest of the big/impact prospects. Which is just insane. It could be argued that Soler is like our 7th best prospect. How many organizations would kill to have him as their top guy?
  7. Nobody seriously How close were the royals? And dbacks with Upton, cargo, drew, parra, Montero?
  8. This. Let's at least give them a few weeks of trying before we sell again. For the first time in a long time I feel like we are getting close to being decent. We've been decent all season. That's why we have a positive run differential. That's true. Arrieta's emergence for some reason has me actually believing in them again though. It would be very cool to care about games after July again.

  10. Get rid of Simmons and Rose. Simmons is such a homer and Rose screams random things like he has a touch of Tourette's. I imagine that after that draft coverage Bilas wants to inject heroin into his forehead.
  11. I think you meant "profoundly erotic." What in God's name is wrong with you. Well, the college girl they had dressed up as her at the princess party I took my daughter to a couple months ago certainly elicited that reaction from me, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. We need to see pics of that.
  12. I just don't get that angle for the Sixers at all. I mean if he was the best player available when they pick I could certainly see them taking him, but the rumors about them making trades and such to make sure they end up with Embiid seem really odd to me. He was projected number one in a draft we've been hearing about for years. I think it's more they really want him no matter what.
  13. I'm sure he's more coach than player at this point.
  14. Man MCW, Noel, Embiid and one of those shooters makes a lot of sense. So I'm sure they won't do it.
  15. True, though his looks more like his head got smooshed like a steamroller ran over it. The new market inefficiency?
  16. While I think that most programs operate in a shady area, when stuff like this comes out the NCAA has to take a stand and do something. If they don't punish UNC for this, how in the hell can you ever punish any program for academic wrong doing? If they find it, I agree. And I think they'll find it honestly. But you can't just go take some bat [expletive] crazy person like Rashad's word for it. He did allow them to look at his transcripts so this isn't all out of nowhere. I know the rest of his teammates stated they didn't think there was anything to this and they supported Williams. I wonder if they too will open up their transcripts to the public?

  18. Kris Bryant is going to make me have another kid so I can name them after him.
  19. No one could be offering what I'd want for him right now. If the names weren't Stanton or Trout, I'd hang up too. Buxton and Sano? Do you blink?
  20. I hate this year. Kris Bryant is the only thing keeping this season worth existance. Anthony Rizzo? Minor-leagues only. Gotcha, I kind of figured Bryant would destroy AA. I am more excited about Rizzo's bounce back myself.

  22. What exactly would dominating a level look like? The front office needs to get him to Iowa.
  23. I'm not getting excited until he commits. As for Williams, lol at him being innocent. Who exactly sat up the graduation payment plan at Kansas? Oh yeah, Roy Williams.
  24. You should just volunteer to give us that title.
