  1. Why in the hell were we shifting for Garrett Jones?
  2. Ryan Dempster has been really good this year.
  3. Yes, but I am a huge homer. That said from what I've read Paul doesn't have a ligament in his knee anymore. He has bone grinding on bone. That's a pretty big deal for someone who relies on quickness as a major part of his game. You've said this a couple of times - do you mean cartilage? Ligaments provide structure and hold things together. Cartilage is the stuff that provides cushion between your bones. Might have been. I read it from a Simmons column. I'll see if I can find it again.

  5. Deron got crazy love the year he took the Jazz to the conference finals as well. Chris Paul is a great player, but he can't stay healthy and he doesn't win.
  6. Bob's also got Theriot as the cub who would get votes for player of the month after Byrd. Soto, Fuku, and Soriano say hi?
  7. They should have picked Steph Curry instead of James Harden. Then they would really have been a scary team going forward.
  8. es Dave Duncam, I can't think of anyone else I would rather have. I think most of the people who disliked Larry did so under Dusty. Later we found out that Dusty didn't listen to Larry much at all.
  9. Why not? Well, I guess he could, I just don't see it happening.
  10. in a similar vein, theriot is hitting .340 with a .764 OPS Neither one of them take a walk or have much power. Not too suprising. Unfortunately those batting averages allow the Dave Kaplan's of the world to spew on about what excellent players they are. Fontenot won't keep that average for long. Watching Geo hit makes me happy. I wish it did Lou as well.

  12. Gee this could be the Bill Cole redux. I really don't see why we are offering this kid unless we aren't gonna get some of the other guys we are in on for '11
  13. I didn't get why last inning Fontenot is swinging on a 2-0 count. Gonna hit a 14 run homer? No, he's gonna get a hit in a hitter's count. Taking 3-1 or 2-0 just because you're down big is exactly how you stay down big. Or you could just take a walk. Both of those were pitches to hit. Don't be dogmatic. You're right, that approach has served us well.
  14. No way is Juan Cruz 6 foot 2. I was at the K the other day and he walked right by my in the parking lot. He was picking up his stuff the day after he was released. I'd be suprised if he was even 6 foot.
  15. Only after they borrowed/"bought" it from not a booster Scot Pollard and loaded it up with 14 year old girls and went drving at 3 in the morning.
  16. I've been wondering for a while why any top recruit ever signs an LOI. There's almost no benefit to them, when they can get aid promised that doesn't bind them to the school. top recruits commit to top schools and top schools take those who sign. kentucky has an army of brandon knights itching to take their money. don't want to lose out on the highest bidder, you know? Of sourse snood understands how that works. You seen Selby's ride? Is it totaled with Brian Carwell's dying body in it? Probably, that's how he was able to afford it.

  19. unfortunately, no Jim isn't firing anyone. Dusty got to finish out his contract.

  21. It would be a series vs an Adam Dunn team if he didn't beat us with a homer at least once.
  22. I'm not saying you are wrong, or that Theriot was right in swinging at the first pitch, but on a scale of 1-100 how intentional do you think that walk was? I'm not watching but I assumed with first base open and 2 outs, a 4 pitch walk was probably less control issues and more pitching around to get a force at 1st, 2nd and 3rd. teams generally do not put the winning run on via a walk.
  23. Maybe one of our big hitters can accidentaly run into a homer this inning.
