Dayton Moore came right out and said they wouldn't be active in the free agent market. Maybe he meant other guys and considered Shields a non free agent, but the feeling I get living in KC is that he's very gone. -

I'm going to be in KC tomorrow night and was kind of hoping there would be a game. Oh well. Are they tickets specifically to game 4 or the 2nd home playoff game? Game 4, but you can get credited money off for the next purchase. Think the LCS is also sold out. I might have to buy world series ones. They don't charge you unless the games happen. t least I'm out no money.

Chicago style voting going on. It has to be the UNLV team that threw the title game, right? Yes, and I know this won't win me many fans here, but that 1997 KU team should not have been eliminated by the 2005 UI team. It was a really good Kansas team.

Additionally, look where the second baseman was playing, for a guy with Jeter's opposite field tendencies. Buck Showalter knows the score. I can't imagine Buck Showalter would throw away a game just for the Legend of Jeter, but I watched the game on YES and from the shot they showed the 2B was really close to 2B and the SS was not even in the picture which means he was closer to 3B than 2B. Just seems really odd to play Jeter that way and then put a fastball on the outer half... Edit: To be fair his spray chart is not so exaggerated for http://www.fangraphs.com/spraycharts.aspx?playerid=826&position=SS&type=battedball The orioles still had/have a shot for home field, they weren't throwing any games.

They did. And just because it was their best available option 2 years ago doesn't mean it is now. Obviously, I just thought I read a lot of great things about it and am just a bit surprised about a move so fast. -

Sadly, we missed our chance. We needed to win in '05. Oh well, we have enough talent to be good going forward, maybe someday we will be the cool school to go to again.

I really think we lost him in the Snider thing, we took the bird in hand and that kind of was it with Brunson. At least they were classy about the whole thing. Following Dee Brown is awesome on twitter. He is such a fan now. First he gets word that it's over and he's like he's going to sleep. Then he can't sleep cause he's mad the Illinois kid is leaving. Then he realizes he can't rain on the kids day and congrats him. He's as crazy as all of our fans.

If so they are better at playing the game than we are. We are a joke when it comes to these high profile recruits. Oh well, in a few weeks Evans can do the same thing to us.

He's played it close to his chest, who knows. I'm still prepping for Villanova. Chicago has no love for the state schools. Can't blame Chicago for Brunson Good point. Man if we miss on him and Evans, to non blue blood schools, that's going to leave a mark.
