  1. I'm all for giving Head more minutes, just not sure where they can come from right now.
  2. Henry Blanco was a light hitting backup catcher. Koyie Hill is a complete non-entity at the plate and a negative to the team. He's got a career OPS+ of 49 and has over 500 PA the past two seasons. That's bad. And will end up in almost a platoon with Geo. Awesome.
  3. He also did that without Pippen, so I'd imagine the assist numbers especially would be higher, if Pip had played. I remember at the time being mad at their start. Even though Pippen was out. Guess that's what happens after 72-10 and 69-13.
  4. Shows you how freaking good MJ was. In '97-'98 he was a shell of his former self.
  5. Making it pretty tough for us to win this challenge. I think we lose 6 to 5. Whoever is making this schedule is an ACC fan.
  6. I know Paul has a ton of steals, but I don't really think you can be a great defender at his size either.
  7. So that's all your hanging on is the word "clear"? c'mon man this is a dumb argument to continue. There are too many of these types of arguments on NSBB. i'm saying that it's not so clear that it's not up to interpretation. i think deron williams is the best point guard, and people will always believe that chris paul is the best. i think it's only a matter of time for rose, though. his physical ability is so much more impressive than either of the others. I agree, but wonder how long Rose will be able to compete at that level. His game doesn't figure to age as well as DWills does. I would also argue the same for Paul although to a lesser extent.
  8. How many points does Deron get for pacing himself to play an entire season plus playoffs while Chris Paul misses over half of his again?
  9. They really cannot help that Robbie Hummel is made of glass. They definately have some talent, but like I thought they are missing Kramer and Grant more than most thought they would. I knew last year was their best chance to do it. You know... before Hummel went down that is. Yeah most sane people did, however DaBum ensured me this was the year he had circled all along. Not sure why?

  11. I didn't see many circus shots. Kevin Anderson was just nails all night long.
  12. BC lost to Yale, IU can definately beat them.
  13. I don't get why either. They've done nothing but play by the rules. Wait...
  14. Who cares about the Heat? Let's talk about DWill took CP3 behind the shed, again.
  15. It's gonna mean something, they are going to have to go to Orlando and Boston now to get out of the East.
  16. As long as they can avoid Presbyterian. Just like MSU and Chaminade? It's not too uncommon that a team doesn't get up for a meaningless game against a team that they should beat by 40. Those were sure some big Illinois wins against Lewis and Southern Indiana earlier this year. Yeah, I don't think we are top 5 good. As for MSU, Izzo has this happen every year. I give him the benefit of the doubt over Frank Martin, see if you can figure out why. You guys have looked pretty average to me so far. Especially for a team that returns so much. Hopefully Kelly will be a big lift for you, cause as it stands right now, I doubt you beat Kansas once this year.
  17. As long as they can avoid Presbyterian.
  18. The word among some of the Indy kids is that Harris is considering moving up his time frame and yes, the buzz is about IU. Purdue cannot be liking this.
  19. I know the free throw thing has always been what I remember about Deron from his frosh year. Not sure why, I guess cause it was such an odd stat for a player of his skill level. I hate Weber, but I gotta give him the credit for helping Deron develop. As for the elite part. When Wright came to college everyone said needed to develop a jumper. Six years later he still does. When Rush was being recruited, and Illinois fans know this because we were his leader until our admissions office told Weber no way was a kid that went to a high school ran from someones van was getting in, everyone said he was a good shooter that guarded well and rebounded for his size. Needed to work on his handle and being able to create one on one. He still sucks at those things. I'm telling you Bill does better with the Cole's and Morris borther types.
  20. You can write off Rush and Henry, but you'd be jumping the gun. Neither will be stars, but both will have fine careers. better than anyone Mike Anderson has produced. There's no evidence to suggest playing for Mike Anderson will enhance your ability to even get to the NBA. Phil Pressey should be an interesting experiment. It'll be interesting to see if he gets there. No one should be touting Self's ability to get the most of his kids in the pros. He has Darnell Jackson to hang his hat on and that's it. I would rather have Weber's track record with DWill and Luther. Cole Aldrich was not NBA material coming out of HS. Neither was Sasha Kaun, and he got drafted. We'll see if Sherron sticks, but it's saying something getting someone his size on an NBA roster. If you haven't seen a ton of growth in the Morris twins, you're kidding yourself. Absolutely no one would have said Marcus was a possible All-American and NBA draft pick coming out of HS. I'll admit that Arthur, Rush, Henry, and Wright were going to the NBA regardless of who coached them. The debate would be, wold another coach have gotten them more ready? I'm sure you'll say no because it burns you to say anything good about Self. I would say yes, with the exception of Wright. I'm sure all would be in the NBA HOF by now if they'd played under MIke Anderson or Weber though. Dwilliams and Head played for Self, too. So he gets an assist on those two. You want one to brag about for Weber and Weber alone, go with DMac. He's turned into a big-time player under BW. Self does really well with kids he can develop. The kids that are elite level talent coming in don't get any better under Bill and definately don't get the chance to shine like they do in other places. Self coached Deron for a year. In that year Deron shot 30 percent from the free throw line, I am not giving him credit for DWill. Just like I am not gonna punish Self for having Aaron Miles and Wayne Simien. I realize how big time a player DMac is, I prefer him to Collins actually. I just don't think Collins got any better in college. Maybe I'm wrong, but he seemd to me to have been the same player all 4 years.
  21. I love it.

  23. I'd rather have him at his rookie pay than Chris Bosh. There I said it.
  24. Its the 90s again. But this time we don't have Sammy. I love the Ricketts.
  25. Elmore says they should have gave him more punishment.
