I've seen this another place as well. Unless they overhauled the way it works, they can't do that. Miami had to renounce all its free agents in order to sign the Big 3. When you renounce your free agents, you lose your Bird rights, thus they couldn't afford to sign Deron. I don't know if there are options on the contracts, as I'm just going off of Trade Machine, but I have 22.9M in 2012 contracts for World Peace, Walton, Blake, Fisher, and McRoberts (lol) You could be right, but I know I heard that scenario laid out somewhere els. Maybe it was wrong. ETA: Quick look shows only Fisher with an option, and it's a player option.
