Unless they finish the season strong, which is highly unlikely based on their schedule, I think they will be a tough sell for the tournament. w In order for Illinois to go forward I hope they don't, Weber' not the answer, he's out excuses, even with talent, we get the crap we saw today. Why does he refuse to play Henry, Shaw and Egwu? i think we'll have to fire weber to keep them here, rather than the other way around. It's even more glaring today, if any game called for playing the bench it was this game. Why not throw players in waves at an NU team committed to only playing 6 and run them ragged? Why not play a zone when they ran 5 guards out and cover the three point line, why not recruit a point guard more than once every five years? Oh because hes a clown and in over his head. Can't wait til the smug bastard is gone.

Which ones? Shouldnt matter. You can only cheer for a school you went to, or a pro team you played for. I mean sure money might have played a factor in where you went to school, but that shouldn't matter to a true fan.

Melo has played 659 games including playoffs. If the above is true, he has between 3-6.5 seasons left until his skills decline. I respect Melos game a ton but I don't group him among top tier of NBA and simmons is discussin the best players of their generations, all guys who maintained productivity levels close to their peaks as their physical skills diminished through evolving their games and developing more intelligent appraoches. I just don't know melo to be on those guys level. He's on Vince Carter and cwebbs. He's a great wing scorer but I expect his efficiency to decline within 3 years and his d to deteriorate from a starting point that isn't ideal. That said he has a great post game and is a good shooter so he may be great longer than I expect. He reminds me of a bigger Paul Pierce, I think his game will hold up better as he doesn't rely so much on athleticism. I could be wrong though.

I think so, that's why he DES all the stuff for ESPN. To help with recruiting, how else do you think they locked up Kendrick Nunn? They got Nunn? That's a HUGE deal for a program like Texas Western. He'll be associated with the city of Beaumont for a long long time. He will be their biggest star since Tim Hardaway.

Like when we did the same thing in 09-10? One on the road in Wisconsin, the other against MSU at home? Yeah that secured nothing. He's gone or the fan base will riot. These are better wins, and we had 4 bad losses that year, compared to 1 (God, it better stay at that number) this year. I think we get in this year, but I still think Webers gone.

With very little of the actual talent? I think he'll be great, but yes, he's nowhere near where Dee was as a freshman offensively. Big difference between an all american and a guy ranked around the 70s-90s. He actually reminds me more of deron as a frosh. Does everything well, but struggles with his shot. Hopefully he can develop his jumper like Deron did.

I've seen this another place as well. Unless they overhauled the way it works, they can't do that. Miami had to renounce all its free agents in order to sign the Big 3. When you renounce your free agents, you lose your Bird rights, thus they couldn't afford to sign Deron. I don't know if there are options on the contracts, as I'm just going off of Trade Machine, but I have 22.9M in 2012 contracts for World Peace, Walton, Blake, Fisher, and McRoberts (lol) You could be right, but I know I heard that scenario laid out somewhere els. Maybe it was wrong. ETA: Quick look shows only Fisher with an option, and it's a player option.

Amares not more valuable, but I don't think the Lakers will trade Bynum. Why not just sign Howard at the end of the year? Then trade Bynum for a point guard? Sorry for bringing in CP3, I guess that's kind of apples to oranges.

Orlando is not that team though. What? They're not contenders WITH Howard. They trade him and they're in retool mode if not full out rebuild mode. Amare is a terrible, terrible "asset" for any team that isn't on the cusp. I still think they are contenders. They're playing bad right now, but they still could give us all we want in a series.
