  1. "Here's a guy, Danny Jackson....who's 0 for 8 in his last 10 starts...and he's making 2.2 million a year!! He's gotta have a ski-mask on when he goes to pick up his check" "There's a guy who grew up in the Dominican Republic, or Puerto Rico, or one of those Caribbean islands where the sun shines 362 days a year....and he loses a pop up, in THE SUN!! I just can't figure it out."
  2. Is that the Brent Schaeffer that went to UT? yep, same guy. He played at College of the Sequoias last year and passed for 40 td's and ran for 10 td's. Runs a 4.4. Great pickup for us.
  3. OLE MISS signs no.2 QB prospect in the nation, Brent Schaeffer...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
  4. say what?????
  5. Mmm... bush... I live bush when he is clean shaven..... :P
  6. lame...hall of very good
  7. Great idea, except for the fact that Floyd and Heilman are each worth more on their own than Soriano. I seriously doubt that. There are plenty more RP's who can do the same thing heilman does and plenty more OF's who put up Floyd numbers than there are 2B's who hit 35hr, 95rbi, and 30sb a year.
  8. ya guys, it would sure suck to have a guy who averages 34 hr, 95rbi and 30sb batting in our lineup. I realize his downside, low walks, high K's...but we Cubs fans are used to do that...may as well have a player who actually does something when he doesn't K as opposed to those that when they don't K only hit weak grounders or pop ups. I realize his defense is suspect, but we gotta do anything to score runs boys.
  9. on the contrary, the biggest hillbilly tractor drivin' rednecks i've ever met are the ones I met in Wisconsin.
  10. can He(e) play right field??? :D
  11. I think the only problem with the Dominican team will be their pitching staff. They only have Pedro and Colon who are real aces. The United States has incredible pitching out the wazoo. I think second to the US in pitching is Venezuela. The Dominican might have the best batting order though.
  12. University of South Alabama representing with Juan Pierre. Luis Gonzalez also played there.
  13. Boston used to have an NL and AL team, the Braves and the Red Sox. The Braves were in Boston for something like 80 years. They were one of the first teams in baseball.
  14. I'm so glad to see Brooks leading the pack!! Here's to the Saints not winning another game for the rest of the year so they might can have a shot at Leinhart.
  15. But it's still safe to say that he has never even come close to playing a complete season (other than in 04) in either minor leagues OR major leagues put together in those stats you posted.
  16. At the very least we hold on to Patterson and keep him as a 4th OF. In that case I suppose a healthy Patterson couldn't be any worse than Jones. I guess I might rather gamble on Bradley than hope on Jones if Bradley's backup is just another Jones.
  17. Ahhh...I see...so we get Milton Bradley and he gets hurt 10 games into the season and so then Dusty can put in whoever becomes the heir-apparent to Gremlin into RF for the rest of the season? People...this is THE CUBS!!! Whenever we depend upon a cost-benefit ratio, it always comes out on the COST side against us. I would normally be optimistic about Bradley because he is very good hitter and would fit great with us....but i'm too cynical these days.
  18. fixed Bradley WON'T even play but for half the season! He's only played over 100 games TWICE in all his years. Has someone put some special tonic y'alls juice that makes you fall in love with a guy who A) Is a proven headcase and a cancer in the clubhouse and B) averages ONLY 76 games a year!! This would be THE typical Cubs pickup! Just say no! I'm not saying Jones is a better baseball player, but i DO know that he more than likely isn't going to call reporters "uncle tom's" or throw things at fans, scream at umpires, and i DO know that he'll more than likely play OVER 76 games this year.
  19. I'd classify Prior and Beltran as injury prone.
  20. I don't think it matters if Bradley's injuries are random or not, they still show me that his body is injury prone. How many times have we seen players dive for balls and plow into the ground, run into walls, foul balls of their legs, twist an ankle over a base, and STILL be ok. Players get dinged up all the time in baseball. When I played I was never 100 percent, not ever. The fact that these freak accidents actually cause him injury, time and time again, just shows that his body is not dependable.
  21. Nomar's played 142 games the last 2 years. Bradley has played 216. Nomar is a sidearming SS, and Bradley is a well above average defensive CF. I think Bradley would make a much easier transition there than Nomar. until he fires a ball at a bleacher bum who crosses him the wrong way
  22. Why so high on Milton? Guy has never played a complete season and only played over 100 game twice in his many years. Getting him would be a prototypical cubs pickup of getting some guy who is going to blow a ligament 2 weeks into the season.
  23. Just curious, why are alot of you so high on Milton Bradley? The guy is a headcase who has never played a full season in his career and has only played over 100 games twice in his career. It seems like there are bushels of outfielders out there who are healthier and have better stats.
  24. Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait! GEAUX to Hell LSU
