  1. yep, he was the guy we helped train and arm so that Afghanistan could fight off those pesky Russians No, I knew him as the guy who killed hundreds of people in US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and killed several US Sailors on the USS Cole. that too, but my part was true as well I doubt anyone in this country other than people in intelligence or people who followed the Afghanistan conflict ad nauseum knew who Osama Bin Laden was before he started being an international terrorist. People knew who the Mujahideen were, etc., but not Osama specifically.
  2. Is Omar even an automatic "In" nowadays? If so many years will it take? I don't think Vizquel is a HOFer , nor do I think he will get in. Definitely not an automatic.
  3. I believe it says "Got Fukudome?" Copy the file location of the gif, thengGo to your USER CP, then go to profile, then to avatar, and just place the link in the "link to offsite avatar" space.

  5. Obviously their era's are different and that factors in hugely, but check out how eerily similar Ozzie and Vizquel's stats are: Omar Vizquel (19 seasons): 9479 AB's, .274/.340/.357, 2598 hits, 77 HR, 416 2B, 71 3B, 869 RBI, 1337 Runs, 380 SB, .984 FP%, 108 WARP3 Ozzie Smith (19 seasons): 9396 AB's, .262/.337/.328, 2460 hits, 28 HR, 402 2B, 69 3B, 793 RBI, 1257 runs, 580 SB, .978 FP%, 139 WARP3
  6. wrong. No, you're wrong. He's lucky he played in the era of the all glove, no hit SS. He's probably one of the most overrated players of all time. He's got a WARP3 of 139.1. The only SS with higher WARP3's in the HOF are Wagner(210.7) & Ripken (169.3). Banks' is at 123.4. I think Ozzie truly is a person who drove in runs with his glove....those win shares had to come from somewhere, because they certainly didn't come from his bat. where do you find a list that sorts warp3 all time? the only way i've found warp 3 is by looking up each player individually on baseball prospectus. Just looked up all the SS's that are in the HOF via baseball prospectus.
  7. Not sure if this goes here...but it is interesting nonetheless: It's Rivals' take on the "All Pro Team 2017": http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=1144&CID=760917
  8. Billy, I recently made this gif of Billy swinging. You could use it in your avatar if you are so inclined: http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/9499/billy2mh6.gif
  9. Agreed. I think I'd make that trip to be there, no doubt.
  10. Errors and fielding percentage don't always tell the whole story, but... Mike Schmidt: 313 errors in 2212 games at 3rd, .955 FP% Ron Santo: 317 errors in 2130, .954 FP% Brooks Robinson: 263 errors in 2870, .971 FP%
  11. Concerning the Hall of Fame....did y'all know that Johnny Damon has a decent chance at 2000 runs and 3000 hits in his career? Right now he's sitting at 1281 runs and 2102 hits. Only five other guys have done that: Aaron, Mays, Cobb, Henderson, and Rose! Can the HOF voters ignore that if he reaches it? He's just NOT a hall of famer in my mind, but the stats could be there if he stays healthy and plays for about 5-6 more years.
  12. the difference is that santo actually deserves to be in the hall of fame; rice doesn't. Player A) 15 seasons and mediocre outfielder: 83.2 WARP3 Player B) 14 seasons and excellent infielder: 119.7 WARP3 I'm going with B there.

  14. Philly scored 944 runs that year at 6.05 runs per game. They allowed 1199 at 7.69 per game. WOW. It's like they had a whole team of Sean Estes'.
  15. Aside from Jesse Haines, the easiest answer is to just say, "some things never change." Look up where those guys spent the majority of their careers.
  16. Because like, he never got 300 like, wins, man!! /dummy sportswriters

  18. to be fair, he was found not guilty. Don't let that silly little fact get in the way of rationality. OJ was innocent too. no, OJ was found not guilty. by a group of nitwits We study that case as proof that you can get ANYONE off for ANYTHING.
  19. ok, fine, I'll drop it. I guess I'll just have to hate him now for being a juice-pumping turdbird. Is that a good enough reason?
  20. What he said I don't think so. One of the guys on ATH said that Eli is like 80%+ winning in games where the temp is over 70 or something. He's crap in cold weather.
  21. I understand your points about average guys with lots of tools, but I'm talking about wanting my HOFers to be good at several different aspects of the game.
  22. Jerry Jones is going to cut Crayton so fast it'll back his head spin.
  23. Regardless of the steroids issue, I still wouldn't put Big Mac in. His one dimensionality really bothers me. I know, I know, that one dimension is pretty impressive, etc., but it's just a personal quirk of mine that I like to have ballplayers be able to have at least 2 tools.
  24. Ole Miss defeats LSU at home. 14-1 now.
