  1. He's already pretty damn good. I don't know anything about his attitude though.
  2. They should do well. Jungmann and Ruffin are both pretty badass pitchers.
  3. whatever, not worth the effort.
  4. we've already got 3 people in this thread that didn't post once in last year's thread. So being in a higher traffic area is working apparently.
  5. you didn't post ONCE in the college baseball thread last year. I'd guarantee you that if this thread were in this forum, it would have more than 9 pages over a six month period like the last baseball thread had.
  6. yes, visited by the same six people. and you'd be wrong on this one.
  7. Well I suggest that for one season we just see what happens if it is placed in a more highly trafficked area.
  8. There's going to be many more televised college games on the ESPN channels this year due to signing the mega contract with the SEC. But of course they are all SEC games, so if you aren't interested in that conference....
  9. That forum is literally a wasteland. You can see tumbleweeds blowing through it. There are threads just halfway down on the front page that last had posts in freaking June. You put College Baseball there and you'll have the same 8 people posting in the thread just like last year and the year before and the year before. "Other Sports" is a highly trafficked sub-forum. This should be there.
  10. it shouldn't. it belongs in a more high traffic area imo. Amateur baseball has the lowest traffic of any forum by leaps and bounds. If the mods want to move this there, then fine, they are being jerks. But if they do, then there won't be as many people A) aware that this thread even exists and b) thus participating in it.
  11. talking to a radio station yesterday
  12. Baseball America's preseason top 25: 1. Texas 2. Virginia 3. LSU 4. Cal State Fullerton 5. Rice 6. Georgia Tech 7. Florida 8. UC Irvine 9. Florida State 10. South Carolina 11. TCU 12. Coastal Carolina 13. Louisville 14. Arizona State 15. Clemson 16. Miami 17. Arkansas 18. East Carolina 19. San Diego 20. North Carolina 21. Southern Mississippi 22. Georgia 23. UCLA 24. Ole Miss 25. Oregon State
  13. not that there's anything wrong with that
  14. because you'll end up having to carry them. Awful.
  15. Couldn't get close enough to Peyton to fight him. Eli is a pretty big guy, so not him. Attacking Archie would be like fighting Ernie Banks (x 2 for me since he was a Rebel and a Saint). Cooper has spinal stenosis, so I could probably beat him up if you'd like.
  16. your stats are erroneous. the Saints will lose by 200 points. no chance they beat the Colts.
  17. check out McCluster burning Javier Arenas. Little dude is really gonna improve his draft stock with the senior bowl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2lbtwVEAes
  18. Contemplating buying tix right now. The ones I'm looking at are all about 1,600 a piece and I'd be buying a pair since I'd be bringing the girl. Dunno if it'd be more fun to be there in person or to be at a great party with all of my friends. The expense isn't really the issue, although 3,000 for tix plus food and hotels, etc., is a TON of money to spend. But then again this is once in a lifetime. My grandfather took my dad and uncle to the very first Saints game and after that up until his death he had season tickets. Some of my earliest memories are of Rickey Jackson and Sam Mills crushing people. So money isn't really the issue. The main issue as I see it is that I've already participated in the "community" aspect of seeing them live at this late stage of the season when I was at the game last weekend and got to run around acting a fool on Bourbon Street and all. It really can't get any better than that. If I went to a party I'd get to be with all of my friends that I've watched games with for years and I'd be able to watch it on a big screen in HD. But seeing it in person would really be something. So I'm definitely up in the air about it for now.
  19. The better Ivy teams do pay some for head coaches. How much was he making in Ole Miss? $300,000.
  20. Ole Miss offensive coordinator and former CFL MVP Kent Austin is leaving to go be head coach at Cornell. WTF? A) I didn't even know Cornell had a football team, and B) Successful SEC coordinators usually don't go down that far for a head coaching job. Eh, whatever.

  22. Go for the Saints. They are pretty much the Cubs equivalent in the NFL. I'd argue the Saints are more the Mariners equivalent in the NFL. As far as length of existence you'd be right, but the similarities between the Cubs and Saints mostly have to do with the passion of the suffering fanbase. When that kick was made there were people crying all over the Superdome, some even weeping (it was quite disturbing to see grown men blubbering like that, although I was a bit misty eyed myself). If the Mariners went to the World Series or won it, I have a feeling you wouldn't see that kind of emotion. Whereas with the Cubs fans....hell ya.
  23. Just heard one of the talking heads on NFL Network say that the Vikings would have been a more difficult matchup for the Colts than the Saints because of the Vikings front four. Do these people even watch the damn games? Brees was hardly touched and Favre was hit something like 11 different times in the game.
