NO ONE is saying otherwise!! Not one single talking head is saying he's going to be an elite or great running back, so it's not like you are going out on a limb saying what you are saying. Everyone I've heard just says he has the potential to be a great scatback like Sproles. Lord have mercy.
Who is overhyping him? If he's the best of all the RB's at the Senior Bowl like McShay is saying, then it is what it is. They are just calling it like they see it. He has impressed a ton of people there. Should they not report on that? Does reporting on a guy instantly mean that you are overhyping him? No one is saying he's going to be a first rounder or that he is the next big thing. Nobody. You seem to be taking a very strange antagonistic approach to it. He's just a guy who SEC fans knew all about but the rest of the country really didn't until now. But anyone that can rip SEC defenses to shreds like he did is likely going to have some decent value at the next level. 266 yards against Arkansas, 207 against Auburn, 324 against Tennessee, 177 against LSU, and putting up back to back Cotton Bowl performances of 183 yards and 231 yards. Dude is dangerous.
As much as people want to bitch about the Vikings mental woes, the Saints weren't much better in some ways. They had 88 yards worth of penalties compared to the Vikings with just 32. 3 of the Saints penalties occurred on Minnesota 3rd downs resulting in automatic first downs, twice on the same scoring drive (Vikings 2nd TD).
Everyone I was sitting with were shocked as well. You'd think that the ref who was helping him up and fixing his shoulder pads would have thrown it in that situation. and btw, McCray was fined 20,000 today, and rightfully so.
why? because the Colts lead in almost every statisitical catagory not named "Hurricane" ....and obvioulsy, I mean the drink Yeah, that'd work if it were true. Statistical categories in which the Saints beat the Colts: Strength of Schedule Offensive Yards Per Game Time of Possession Total Touchdowns Points Per Game Margin of Victory Total Points Rushing Touchdowns Rushing Yards Kicking Return Yardage Punt Return Yardage Interceptions Sacks Forced Fumbles Passes Defended Defensive Touchdowns
I'm really not getting why some people think the Colts are just that much better than the Saints. Like I've said before, I really think it has something to do with the fact that they are the Saints. It's etched in our collective minds that the Saints = bad football. It's like if the Royals were suddenly winning 100 games a year, I'd have a hard time taking them seriously even in the face of the stats.
You'd think a team with 13 wins and the ninth highest rated offense in the history of the NFL would get more than a little respect from some people. Jesus. The way some people talk you'd think they are the Browns or something.
I think the Vikings showed up to play. Their offense worked well and so did their D. I gave the Vikings D all the credit in the world for stopping the Saints 4 different times on 3rd and 1 or 2. The Saints led the league in takeaways for a reason and it showed. That's all. Otherwise the Vikings looked pretty solid to me in that game.
like the Vikings and their white trash DE wouldn't have done the same to Brees if they could have? Please. edit: I haven't defended McCray's hit on Favre. I thought at the time watching it live and still think that it was a cheap shot.
yeah, i've read reports today that say that Coleman may be considering Alabama and Miami in addition to Auburn. As of a week ago, he said he was 100% committed to Auburn but would still take his visits..we'll see. There are always some surprises on signing day. Ole Miss hosted him last weekend and as far as I'm concerned y'all can have him. He's a sketchball and judging by the way he F's with reporters (told half he was going to Tenn last weekend and half he was going to Ole Miss) I don't like his character at all.
heh, well I don't know about that, but Reggie is definitely stronger than people think. He survived remarkably well against what I think is the most vicious hit I've ever seen in an NFL game:
He's already pretty damn good. I don't know anything about his attitude though. I could be way off base, but seems to have some of that Delmon Young mentality. He's a very fiery player. that's not always a bad thing of course.
