  1. there's a lot of talk about that. i guess the plane that was flown to OK city, Lubbock, etc has scheduled a trip to KC. I'm not getting my hopes up. lol, oh lord. this is like a rivals message board when a school is looking for a new coach...people tracking planes and isht
  2. why does it matter what football conference you are in as far as Academia is concerned? Would anyone actually go "well I don't want to go to Duke because they are in the same football conference as Arkansas." Is there some kind of financial incentive to being in a "smart" football conference that I'm missing? Why is this an issue
  3. Is anyone actually even talking about Kansas to SEC? That just doesn't make sense imo
  4. I think Mizzou could hang fine for the most part. I wouldn't consider them a bottom feeder at all.
  5. that's not really a joke either, is it? I mean, people in the SEC take that pretty seriously, don't they? Or is that just me stereotyping? I don't think most people really care. I just find it amusing from a historical standpoint that the SEC states are exclusively former Confederate states. The only state not represented is Virginia.
  6. Culturally, it's not a real fit. And I'm by no means trying to present the state of Kansas as on the progressive vanguard or anything. But it isn't a southern state in any way. Culturally, it's much more western/plains. Missouri is a much better cultural fit. My time in StL convinces me of that. MO culture has a very southern sensibility imo. you're right. I was only half joking about the former Confederate state thing. Missouri was a border state and is represented by a star on the rebel flag, hah. Same with Kentucky too
  7. sec = confederate state or gtfo
  8. ahah. ya, Kansas makes no sense for the SEC
  9. this is true, but in the end they are gonna do whatever they can to keep up with the Jones' our only real bottom feeder in football is Vandy and maybe Kentucky, and they aren't really a given to beat when you play them.

  11. Texas A&M would help the SEC's academics a bit
  12. You forgot the Egg Bowl we despise one another from birth
  13. enough with the fraking horns!!! they seem to have something similar to that in a lot of Japanese baseball games I've seen.
  14. If they added A&M and Mizzou, that would make for some strange divisions in the SEC. I guess they'd move Bama and Auburn to the east. East: Fla, SC, Tenn, KY, Aub, Bama, GA West: A&M, Mizz, OleMiss, LSU, Miss St, Vandy, Ark That layout would certainly make me happy. Get Bama the hell outta my division.
  15. I bet the SEC would have some interest in Mizzou
  16. Not sure the SEC needs to expand, but if they do I'd imagine the possible candidates include Georgia Tech, Clemson, one or both of FSU and Miami, and whoever in the Big 12 South hasn't gone to Pac10, so A&M or OU maybe?
  17. Search is back too!! YAY TIM!
  18. PRAISE every deity there is! Yes Yes! How anyone doesn't use active topics is beyond me. I have a systematic way of working through the forums and how could that not be accomplished 7 times faster by clicking "view active topics" do you only contribute to active topics? considering that view active topics shows the last FIVE PAGES of threads that have been posted in and given that this forum doesn't have hundreds of new threads a day, I'd say yes. And if I want to post in a thread from two months ago, then I can just go into the subforum itself and find it. My bookmark for this site is the view active topics tab. You really should try it. I spent like five years on this site just ignoring it and stuck in my ways clicking on every subforum for new posts or whatever, but then it was like a coming to jesus moment when I realized how efficient view active topics is since it shows you the last five pages of EVERY thread from EVERY forum.

  21. Really appreciate the effort, Tim
  22. Just found out that recently deceased Hall of Famer Robin Roberts in 1950 pitched a 17 inning complete game where he faced 71 batters. HOLY CRAP!
