  1. Why wouldn't Rizzo? June at the latest. He's 22, and this team is terrible. There's no reason to even consider him on opening day. Why rush him? Let him solidify his abilities in Iowa and call him up in September unless he's absolutely destroying everything. word
  2. That's a pretty large assumption you are making.
  3. let's not gloss over this fact: The police may feel it isn't worth pursuing once they talk to him.
  4. A fangraph of that would look like Challenger's last flight path.
  5. Nothing has been made official yet, but the deal appears to be Zambrano + $15m for Volstad. that sucks
  6. So we don't know what we are getting from the Fish yet? #toolazytowadethroughthelast15pages
  7. Am I the only one who had a brain fart for a millisecond and thought the headline said "Joe Mauer"?
  8. Bit worried about the Lions game. They can definitely put up enough points to hang with the Saints. Really ridiculous that they didn't take care of their business against the Rams and Bucs to get the bye. Saints still have a bit of the 'Aints blood pumping through their veins.
  9. With Morris I'm surprised they didn't have a blindfold and a cigarette waiting for him in the tunnel at halftime.
  10. Brees set NFL single season records for pass yards (5476), comp (468), comp % (71.2%), 300-yard games (13) & consec 300-yard games (7)
  11. Brees 28/35, 389yds, 5 TD's, 1 int today
  12. Few are worse than that guy. How that bore actually has a job is astonishing. The only thing he is good for are all the YouTube vids of callers trolling his show.
  13. Mad dog? He's more like a useless trivia expert. He entertains me and doesn't take a break every thirty seconds ergo he is listenable.
  14. I wasn't referring to you thinking that it was a big deal, just making fun of the talking heads I suppose. The only sports radio guy I can listen to is Chris Russo fwiw. Dude is like Rain Man with stats.
  15. Amazing game action shot of Christy Mathewson from 1911 found at Baseball Hall of Fame Museum's collection. Keith Olbermann pointed out how much it looks like Tom Seaver. http://mlblogskeitholbermann.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/mathewsonhof.jpg http://www.goldenagebaseballcards.com/hall-of-fame/imagesbig/tom-seaver.jpg
  16. Seriously. It's one thing to bitch if the Saints were AHEAD and went and scored a TD...however, they were losing. I cannot recall seeing an NFL team that is losing just run the clock out when they have a minute left and are in enemy territory. Doesn't matter if they were down 50 at that point.
  17. Oh that's right, you're the guy who thinks QB's should take a knee when they are losing. I'm sure Rodgers would have said "eff it we're losing, lemme do the discount double check on my knees and run the clock out."
  18. You know they already played this year and it pretty much came down to the last play... The weather will be a factor that should help Green Bay but you're crazy if you think the Saints offense will only score a single TD against the 31st worst defense in the NFL.
  19. Darren Sproles has 2,528 all purpose yards this season. He needs 162 yards next week to get the record.
  20. Play him outside Excellent point. If the Saints played the Packers in the Dome, I would take the Saints as my pick. But, with that game being in January in Lambeau, I think the Packers would win. This was also the argument made yesterday on ESPN radio. I believe it was Linda Cohn filling in for Scott Van Pelt. As always seems to be the case (with the exception of Doug Gottlieb), I enjoyed the show more listening to the "fill-in" host. Wow, it takes a really Einstein to make that point. Hold the presses folks: the Packers would play better at Lambeau in the freezing ass cold than a team that plays indoors and lives in the South.
  21. Brees didn't play at all in the 4th against the Colts, was out with 12:50 left in the game against the Vikings, and was out of the game with 10:41 left against the Giants. Rodgers was out against the Broncos with 7:46 left, out with 10:59 left against Vikings, and didn't play the entirety of the 4th against the Raiders and was out of the 4th against the Bears. So that's not a very valid argument. And this talk about running the score up in the Colts game...hell the Saints didn't even attempt a pass in the entire 4th qtr. In the Vikings game they only attempted one pass after 12 mins left.
  22. If they were arguing for Tony Romo to be MVP then you could murder them, I'm not sure what there is to "murder" someone over who thinks that a guy with his stats should get MVP. There is not some huge difference in their stats. Rodgers: 4,643 yds, 45 TD, 122.5 qbr (on pace for highest all-time), 68.3% comp Brees: 5,087 yds (highest all-time obviously), 41 TD, 108.4 qbr, 70.7% comp (on pace for highest) I'm of the opinion that they should be CO-MVP's, like in 03 and 97, since both are playing at about the highest levels you can really play at that position and the value that both bring to their respective teams is immeasurable.
  23. At a bar off Bourbon. Awesome game to be at! So thrilled to have been witness to that.
