  1. It's not just a jump to the SEC but the money Ole Miss throws around is pretty sick. Ole Miss usually hovers around 10th or so in best paying coaching jobs. Nutt for all his incompetence is making 2.8 mil a year.
  2. In totally expected news...Houston Nutt will be relieved of his duties (along with a 6 million dollar buyout check) at the end of the season. Will coach remainder of games though. According to the Rivals writers, the top candidates expected to replace are Alabama DC Kirby Smart, Auburn OC Gus Malzahn, and Texas DC Manny Diaz. I'd personally want Kevin Sumlin from Houston.

  4. those are black eyes from where that rube had popped her already during the game
  5. holy jesus, I'll never complain about Rebel the Black Bear again that's terrible.

  7. a good amount of male students including our stupid new mascot http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/1926/newsbearcontrib.jpg I've also seen it a good deal at Auburn and BAMA.
  8. I'd think so
  9. couldn't happen to a nicer group of douches.
  10. Ole Miss has lost to Vandy and Kentucky by a total of 40 points this year. First time they've lost to both in the same season since 1940. If Houston Nutt were a Soviet general they would have handed him a pistol and left him alone in a room.
  11. Or as Earl Weaver said, Jim Thome is the type "that can sit on his ass for eight innings and enjoy watching the baseball game just like any other fan and then have the ability to get up there and break one open in the [expletive] ninth" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YKxf3OkpJc
  12. I'd imagine his role will be pretty much identical to Giambi's right now in Denver.
  13. Care to find out? http://aeryssports.com/a-league-of-her-own/files/2011/02/dusty.jpg
  14. Yes I'd definitely prefer Buehrle at this point as well for obvious reasons.
  15. Wasn't aware of that. Yeah that's not good. Thought his problem was just spasms. I'd still take him on a one or even a two year deal if he was cheap enough.
  16. Not a fan of Oswalt at all. He's old (35 next season) and pretty injury prone. Oswalt really doesn't help us much at all given our current situation. Posted this in the Oswalt thread and I'll post it again: In his previous nine years as a full time starter he averaged 208 IP/year and only had under 210 IP three times (127 -03, 208.2 - 08, 181.1 - 09). His DL stint and his increasing age are certainly matters of concern, but he's been remarkably durable throughout his career. I'd love to have an entire staff of pitchers who are that "injury prone". Following a decade of service how many pitchers do you know that haven't had a few minor injuries? Concerning his most recent problem, I don't think those back issues (spasms) are something that have had too much of a negative impact on him considering that coming back from the DL he only pitched under 6 IP one time in 10 starts and that was 5.2 IP. Small sample size no doubt, but his history of back issues aren't something that have hampered him all that much looking at his career.
  17. I'd be a big supporter of looking into him as well.
  18. pass the hat. i think we can do it.
  19. pretty random, but was checking out Troy Glaus' B-R page tonight and saw that in 2000 he didn't receive a single MVP vote despite putting up this line: .284/.404/.604/1.008, 150+, 47 HR (led the league), 102 RBI, 120 Runs, 7.6 WAR I realize other guys had better seasons, but still, to not crack the top 20 with a line like that? Sign of the times I suppose. http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/awards_2000.shtml#ALmvp Also interesting that year to see how the voters viewed the "Coors Factor" in ranking Helton fifth in the voting given that he led all of baseball in BA, SLG, OPS, Total Bases, Doubles, RBI, RC, XBH, WPA, and was second in WAR, Runs, Hits, and IBB.
  20. HA! WOW!!!!
  21. Yea especially their black ones. They were pretty cool.
  22. Woof. They are marginally better without the swordfish in the second set.
  23. fap fap omg that'd be sick to get him
