  1. If I was a Michigan fan I would be real concerned that you have players turning on the coach for violating a rule that I am sure is violated at every major school in this country. Seems like Rich Rod has been nothing but trouble for Michigan so far.
  2. Sosa had several years in the teens. I dont ever remember him dropping a ball though. I also never remember him making a good accurate throw.
  3. I have been looking at several notoriously bad defensive OFers and have found many seasons in the teens and 1 in the 20s. Thats a lot of errors for an OFer
  4. Soriano made his 10th error today. I was looking up the OF record on Baseballreference and couldnt find it. Does anyone know what the record is. 10 seems like a huge amount for an OFer
  5. if the Cubs are not winning because of Z and Milton Bradleys attitudes, I would have to call into question the mental toughness of the other players on the team anyway. If you cant overcome a couple of selfish teammates, you surely are not going to overcome a good team in a penant race.
  6. 1st of all gregg does suck 2nd...nothing exposes a bad bullpen like a poor offense
  7. without looking it up, I would say it is not always true. I would assume though that there is a correlation between OBP and LOB.
  8. I predict it will be the team with the highest OBP Get outta here. I know I really went out on a limb there.
  9. Personally, I think he is right on when he says fans and media are more concerned about the integrity of the game than they are the health of the players.
  10. I predict it will be the team with the highest OBP
  11. I think Lee can also be moved and net some return, since it will be his last year on the contract and he is having a productive year. I think it would be wise to investigate what we could possibly get for any of the above players, but think only Lilly and Lee would net the Cubs any value.
  12. All over reacting aside, I agree fully with this statement. Jim Hendry seems to not have a plan, philosophy, mission, or whatever word you want to use in how he runs the Cubs. From the outside it appears that his transactions are just throwing stuff against the wall and hoping that it will stick. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. Since he has a very large checkbook compared to most major league clubs, he has a lot more room for error then other GMs.
  13. So the drunk in the bar says "put the whole team on waivers" there has got to be a punchline here. obviously benchwarmer is angry and over reacting, but I sure do understand it.
  14. I assumed the Cab Driver gave him a good clean check and Kane retaliated by cross checking or slashing!!
  15. my money is on the Giants also
  16. when I read the title of the thread, I thought it was going to be another Onion articel
  17. couple of things I generally dont hate players as much as I really get aggravated by mis-management that either has these poor players on the team or over play players who should be getting much less time or a combo of both(as in the case of Miles) When did baseball start allowing faux injuries? Baseball used to be much better than Basketball and other sports about allowing expanded rosters using the IR. Blanco is more valuable of a player than Miles...which speaks volumes to how frickin bad Miles is.
  18. Though I think Beckham will be a better player than Crede....this whole argument smacks of all the stupidity that Sox fans tried to give out when they made claims that Crede was better then ARam
  19. there should be a stickied post to complain about how stupid ESPN and their band of misfits are
  20. I dont think this issue will ever be resolved until we realize that these are human beings with problems and not idols to our imagined perfection.
  21. I know several people who have been divorced and even remarried who still take every chance they can to take shots at the ex-spouse. This seems to be the same resentment level that Stone is showing to the Cubs.
  22. still wont watch
  23. they did http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2009/07/red_wings_gm_ken_holland_says_1.html
  24. Kopecky is a 4th liner...which is what the Hawks signed him to be. Not sure where you think Kopecky was given a chance to be on the same line as Hossa and Datsyuk in the past. He was given some PP time when Holmstrom was out, but that is all that I remember. His job then was to park his can in front of the goalie. I dont think anyone thinks Kopecky is a top 6 forward. When Kopecky was getting ice time again later in the season, he did have some time on the top lines. He did spend parts of a few games on the same line as Datsyuk and Hossa, and he did nothing outside of one game. After the 4th line, he is worthless. He has no ability, and no hockey sense. He tries to compensate for this by hitting guys, but too bad they have no effectiveness. Hell, he falls over half the time. The best part of last season was when he went into a fight, forgot how to take a punch, and then after the game said "I didnt know the guy was a lefty". I love Marian Hossa, but if Kopecky wasn't Hossa's buttbuddy the Black Hawks would have never signed him. I guess it's fine if he just plays on the 4th line the whole year, and I could see why the Black Hawks signed Kopecky if they thought it would oddly help them land Hossa. But, I doubt he'll be playing on the 4th line all year. It's inevitable the lines will get switched up, and he'll be playing with higher caliber players. If so, that would hurt these guys, and I bet you guys will be making fun of Kopecky by the end of the year. Maybe, but you seemed to be suggesting that Kopecky was on the higher lines because Hossa was requesting it somehow. I don't know what was going on in Detroit, but Quenneville isn't going to go for that. I am pretty sure that wreckingball is mistaken...the only time that I found that Kopecky had more than 10 mins in a game were the last 3 when the playoffs were set. Hossa didnt play in those games, and Kopecky's time was consistent with other Detroit 3rd and 4th liners. As a Wings fan I am pretty sure that no one ever considered Kopecky a top 6 forward, especially on Detroit.
