    didn't the cubs have a crazy long stretch before terry mulholland? Before Mulholland you have to go back 4 years to Greg Hibbard. The 90's Cubs barely had any LH relievers either.

    My hunches for this weekend: Gophers give TCU all they can handle. Texas beats ND. Wiscy beats Bama. Saban's not being coy; they have no QB. aTm beats AZ State.

    Really wish I could find the "ok" eye roll gif by Taylor swift I think I'm dead serious. A life without warm summer nights is not worth living. I hate winter but I'd hate varying degrees of fall weather 100% of the time even more. Remember when sori vetoed a trade to the giants because it's too cold? That's me. 100% behind this.

    Things like this are why I've more or less quit using social media like Twitter, Facebook, etc. NSBB, on the other hand, is always high brow and informative.

    I was having a drink last week at my neighborhood haunt and bumped into a few SF Giants fans right after the 4 game sweep. They saw my Cubs hat and immediately starting talking [expletive] about 1908 rabble rabble. They do it because it is the laziest form of insult, an ESPN graphic regurgitated by drunks. It's the trash talking equivalent of junk food.

    Pitchers are fickle is working out in our favor for once. Our top 4 starting pitchers are all having good to great years (even by Lester's established standards) and have only missed one start between them. True, but the SP has been there almost all season, 1-4 anyway. The difference now is that they're winning the 8-6,5-4 games. Obviously they are playing well, but I wouldn't say the're playing at a peak level yet. This may have been posted in the game thread already, but this quote from Arrieta after the game is pure badass:
