  1. Vance, hope you made out ok with the horrible weather the last two weekends. 1. Javy 2. Shawon Dunston-loved him so much as a kid I named my dog Dunston 3. Hawk 4. Mark Prior-what could have been... 5. Jody Davis-my first favorite Cub 6. Mike Fontenot-if you listened to drive-time sports radio in NO you'd know why Theriot is not on this list. 7. Big Z 8. Michael Barrett 9. Kerry Wood 10. Jim Bullinger-friends with his family
  2. Phil Niekro to Edwin in two moves is impressive.
  3. I've enjoyed watching these old games. But holy crap is Chip Caray bad! I don't recall him being as awful as he truly was. THERE’s a LASER TO CF! Yeah, he was awful. I had forgotten about HRs being “rally killers”.
  4. Holy horsefeathers! This is a perfect signing.
  5. PSA: The 1979 Phillies at Cubs game is on MLBTV.
  6. Good fit for him. The NFC South should be interesting outside Atlanta. That team’s going to suuuuck.
  7. Really? It was one of the 3-4 most commonly speculated landing spots. A) I hadn’t heard that (admittedly haven’t followed the NFL offseason closely) But B) Tampa doesn’t feel like a team whose window was opening and where an over-the-hill Brady is going to get them to the next level Tampa is ready to make a big jump if they get a decent QB who doesn't throw 30 picks. That said, I don't think Brady is the guy to get them over the hump.
  8. I know he led the Saints to a good record last year and he tore up the Bears. Can he be an above average NFL starter though? Especially on a team with a pretty poor OLine. Obviously, I watched a lot of Teddy last season. He did a great job here but he is not a playoff caliber starting QB, IMO. He's a dink and dunk guy who absolutely needs a strong defense, running game and O-line to succeed. Love the guy, though.
  9. The company I work for operates restaurants and concessions in airports, sports venues, casinos and National Parks around the world. They are in full freak out mode right now, sending random emails out detailing how VPs of airlines are "voluntarily" taking pay cuts during the crisis. I worry about our bartenders, servers, cooks, etc that are about to be laid off, or at best, make jack horsefeathers for money.
  10. Very true, and his big body does allow him to get good post and rebounding position for a shorter guy, ala Charles Barkley. Still, if he wants to maximize his explosiveness and stay healthy for that matter, he needs to shed some weight.
  11. I saw on TV that he's the 3rd heaviest player in the NBA at 285. Like I can't figure out that he's just that fat or that they're lying on TV cuz there has to be more than 2 guys in the NBA that weighs more. In the same breath the broadcasters said Zion gained 8 lbs of muscle in a week, so take all of that for what it's worth. End of the day, Zion is fat. Then again he's only 19, so he can probably shed it pretty quickly.
  12. Harden has Adrian Dantley syndrome. He takes too many shots to ever lead a team to a title.
  13. I'll take Chiefs and the over.
  14. I’m not a believer in Jimmy G at QB. The 49ers are going to horsefeathers around and let Aaron Rodgers pull this game out of his ass, I’m afraid.
  15. I saw something on Twitter that said kintzler blew his 30th save against them that would have given him a bonus. Yup in 2017, he finished with 29 and a significant bonus would kick in at 30. Though he did have 6 blown saves that year and it’s not like Mr. BABIP is typically untouchable. I feel pretty confident he won’t look at it that way.
  16. Bucks are now my second favorite team.
  17. Sounds eerily like Derrek Lee's wrist.
  18. I sort of want to watch a Chiefs v Titans game just because of the contrasting philosophies. I’m guessing Chiefs minus 7?
  19. It’s competitive because every team sucks. This isn’t just for the BIG but all of college basketball. This has to be one of the worst years ever talent wise. There isn’t a good team. It’s a spectacular collection of mediocrity this year. I wouldn’t say sucks, I just don’t think there’s any great teams. But, that could change in a month. Which is why, I think, that this might be Gonzaga’s year. They’re always good for a few wins in the NCAAT but fold against great teams in the F4.
  20. This will be the third one in a row for me, dude.
  21. Irrational feeling that Castellanos would rake against the Cubs all season if he goes to StL.
  22. I’m strangely optimistic about Pittman at UA. He seems like a nut (not Nutt) but he’s brought in a great staff with some recruiting chops. We’ll see.
  23. Dear god I hate sports. horsefeathers sports.
