    Why work Wood more in an 11-1 game? I have no problem using Wuertz here. Better to get him to shake the rust off in an 11-1 game than a 2-1 game.

    I still think, to have realistic hopes of playoff baseball, the Cubs need to have a winning July. 11-6 to close out the month would do it.

    :roll: Jesus. How many Card fans are on here lately? Dont you guys have your own place? The NL shortstops are terribly weak and Nomar would actually really win it easily. Its not something to roll your eyes over. Eckstein's a little scrappy guy and i like him a lot, buts he not an all-star. Don't forget that also, despite being injured, Nomar was leading the vote for quite a while anyway. Playing, there's little doubt Nomar would've won the popular vote to start the game.

    I think for the Cubs to get back into the Wild Card race, they need to have a winning July. 2-7 so far.

    Well, it is only the 6th inning, and Burnitz in the 4 spot isn't so much of a stretch from the normal lineup. That 1-2-3-4 sequence will be batting again this game.

    According to Comcast Sports Nite, its 2 actually. Either way, should be wrapped up by Sunday Morning It's 2 because the Bulls lose the tiebreaker to New Jersey (thanks to that 0-4 mark vs. them). But yeah, they should take care of that sometime this weekend.

    Imagine how good they could be if they'd knock that stuff off.... Oh, I know. Right now the Bulls are at a Detroit/Cleveland level, but they'll probably finish with a record around the Orlando/Atlantic winner level because they simply don't take care of the ball. Think of it this way: Since the Bulls started 3-14, they've gone 14-4. Of the four losses, one was a 1-point loss to the Mavs that they led by 10 in the fourth, and 2 with 13 seconds remaining (absolutely gave that one away). Another was a 7-point loss in Milwaukee where the Bulls came all the way back from a 9-point deficit to tie the game with a minute remaining before falling apart. A third was a home loss to the Nets where the Bulls blew a 6-point lead with 3 minutes remaining. And the fourth was a home loss to Detroit where the Bulls had a lead, but gave way to a 14-4 run late that put the game away. They've been in every game they've played since the beginning of December, and though they've had a favorable home schedule, they're beating the good teams, too (Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, Memphis, Orlando, Philly, Boston, Knicks twice). The only teams I see right now that clearly outclass the Bulls are Phoenix (w/Nash), San Antonio, Miami, Seattle, and probably Detroit.

    If anything, this game was another case of having to severely outplay an opponent to win because of a penchant for giving away free chances with turnovers. The Bulls badly outplayed the Knicks, twice, but almost blew it, twice, from the turnovers.

    I find it amazing, personally, that the Bulls can continue to win consistently, considering how badly they have to outplay the competition on the offensive and defensive end to make up for the turnovers they commit. They lead the league by such a wide margin in turnovers it's astounding they're nearing .500.

    Another option for players would be retirement/play overseas. Is there a possibility of those options? I mean, for Clemens, without the option of retirement, it seems obvious where his destination would be.

    Curry was abysmal last night. It's like the guy has absolutely no court sense. He goes where he's told to go in practice, and then can never adapt to the situation. Every time he was out on the floor last night, the Suns made a run.

    Going to a game tonight for the first time since '98. Would be nice to see them get their first win with Curry and Davis back. The Bulls are undefeated when I've been there, though. :)
