  1. Seconded. Brady had a crappy game today, threw in one good drive, and won. Unbelievable. So damn mad right now... Crap. I don't even care. Bears could beat either of these teams What happen to the Bears last time they played the Colts. I think Manning threw for fours TD's. The Bears can't beat either the Pats or Colts. When the Bears went 5-11? Yeah, I'm sure it's a similar situation.
  2. Well, the defense was awful for the middle half of the game, but they came through when they needed to. The defense really needs to work on coverage and run defense up the middle. Anything from here is gravy, really. I just really, really wanted them to win this game.
  3. I mean, seriously, did they expect Seattle to punt with 2 seconds left?
  4. Why the hell do you call a timeout with 2 seconds left?
  5. See that, Bears? A run play late in the game...with 3 timeouts, you can afford to do that.
  6. Going to take a pick-6 to win this one in regulation.
  7. Well, that "drive" went about as poorly as one could expect.
  8. Well, the last two times a team went for it on 4th and short, they got untouched rushing TDs. I really hope that doesn't happen.
  9. Secondary just unable to cover anyone.
  10. I really hope media pundits don't put this on Grossman if the Bears lose. This defense simply isn't working. Either the opponents have figured it out, or the personnel isn't working out.
  11. The defense is getting no pressure, can't stop runs up the middle, and can't cover receivers in the middle of the field. And yet they somehow still have a lead. For now.
  12. The defense has been very disappointing so far.
  13. I'm worried that a team with a better secondary would have gotten a couple of picks though. To be fair, Tillman really should've had a pick-6 earlier in the game as well. That was as close to a gift as possible.
  14. I'm not sure why, but I just have a good feeling about this game. I think the defense and offense has been holding back since the Giants game (considering that was really the last game that seriously threatened their #1 seed), and they've been looking towards this first playoff game ever since last year. I think the defense from the first half of the season shows up again, the offense gets into a rhythm again, and Rex gets to play with a lead, where he's most dangerous. Bears 24, Seahawks 6. Other games: Colts 31, Ravens 27 Chargers 27, Patriots 14 Eagles 38, Saints 35
  15. There doesn't have to be a system designed for Boise State. It's just all I've heard and read today on major sports sites that if there were an 8 team playoff like there should be, Boise State would have a shot. This isn't true. Also, as someone mentioned earlier, an 8-team playoff that includes Big 6 conference winners doesn't necessarily exclude a team outside the Big 6 conferences, as Utah would have qualified in that year.
  16. A 16-team field would be absurd. There is no reason why teams that couldn't finish in the top 10 need to get a 2nd or 3rd chance to contend for the title. It's not feasible at all, since it would mean the end of the bowl system and suck money out of the system. There's no logical reason, but the teams from Big 6 conferences not about to go without an automatic bid to any playoff that exists. Sure, it sucks, but an 8 team playoff wouldn't include any Boise State. A 10 or 12 team playoff would, likely, but then you're already stuck with a 4th week of playoff games, which is no different from a 16-team playoff, and then every conference could be represented.
  17. I've heard too much already of "If there was an 8-team playoff, Boise State would have gotten its deserving chance." (not just from here, I mean from sports pundits and radio hosts and weblogs and everything) Really? Think about it for a minute. The "Big Six" conferences would never, ever allow a playoff that they didn't get an automatic spot in. That puts Ohio State, Florida, Louisville, USC, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest in. After that, they'd likely choose from the top available BCS teams. That puts Michigan and LSU in, easy. Boise State is still left out in the cold. Would Boise State have a valid argument? Absolutely. But they'd have to argue that either they were more deserving than LSU, or more deserving than any ACC team. I'm not sure either of those arguments fly before any NCAA playoff committee. Fair? Depends on your definition. So, essentially, to "appease" all possible angles, you'd need a 16-team playoff. Which is completely feasible, if there wasn't a month long break in between the season and the playoffs.
  18. Yes, in the season, including over teams in these playoffs. The 4 games that went "as expected" are not much of a meaningful trend. Every playoff season includes upsets. I would even go so far as to say the Seahawks win over the Cowboys was an upset, as the line was 2.5 and home field counts for 3. That and the Seahawks were just not statistically a good team. Which doesn't mean a whole lot compared to the points on the scoreboard and the fact they're still playing this week.
  19. You've won already. You have more points already (385) than everybody except for the second place guy (who I assume to be bukie) can get overall. Both of you picked Ohio State to win so he can't gain on you. I can only get one more point which would put me at 375. oh, I was thinking you get negative points for the games you get wrong. Guess I should've looked at the rules. Nope, it actually all came down to the Southern Miss/Ohio game...freaking MAC :)
  20. What I want to see happen: Colts over Chiefs Jets over Pats Seahawks over Cowboys Eagles over Giants Colts over Ravens Chargers over Jets Bears over Seahawks Saints over Eagles Colts over Chargers Bears over Saints Bears over Colts What I think will actually happen: Colts over Chiefs Pats over Jets Cowboys over Seahawks Eagles over Giants Ravens over Colts Chargers over Pats Bears over Cowboys Eagles over Saints Chargers over Ravens Eagles over Bears Chargers over Eagles
