  1. Why set things up to lift Pat Burrell for a defensive replacement in an AL stadium?
  2. Just put Bill Murray in the booth with Len. He's not doing much of anything these days, right?
  3. 100%, surefire way to beat the Cubs: Wait until they're in the playoffs, then show up to play them.
  4. Apparently momentum is an interchangeable word for lead in some announcing circles.
  5. how the hell is Iowa number 8? Because they've quietly played very well, and have quite a few blowout wins.
  6. You just jinxed it. He's now going to find a way to injure himself during the bye week. At that point the team might as well just hold a promotional event for the week 9 game against Detroit. First 10000 entrants get an open tryout in the secondary.
  7. Another thing I find amusing: healthiest player on the entire roster at secondary = Mike Brown.
  8. Hey, the Bears won a game with a practice squad player and Joe the Plumber playing cornerback by the end of the game.
  9. The Vikings may put up 50 this game, so I can only hope the Bears put up 51.
  10. But that one guy who has Rashied Davis starting is ecstatic.
  11. They can't create a whole to save their lives, but they're doing a very nice job in pass protection. I think a lot of the pass protection has to do with the help Forte provides on Allen. There are absolutely no running lanes though.
  12. The run blocking is....not very good.
  13. but not THE U go gophers yeah, they're better than the illini like oregon state is better than usc. you can tell tim brewster than he can stop fist-pumping now. In fairness, the gap between OSU and USC is much wider than the gap between Minnesota and Illinois. Minnesota is hugely improved this year. IU is really the only pushover team in the Big Ten this year. Except maybe Wisconsin?
  14. Illini football 2008 - better than IU!
  15. Part of me is hoping that front line scores 3-4 goals tonight, just to actually make Bradley think that this may be a line to go with long term.

Oft forgotten fact: the winner of that frightful game 6 was none other than Chad Fox.
  17. Damn, and I was hoping for the rare Roy Williams - Roy Williams trade.
  18. He's also 4th in the AL in Win Shares, incidentally, and that is also a park-neutral stat.
  19. Between the Bears and Illini losing in excruciating fashion, it's almost as if someone is actively trying to get me to care about sports less.
  20. I'll start a Rams-Cowboys thread in which everyone is only allowed to root for the Lions.
  21. Your 2008 Chicago Bears: Good enough to win every game, flawed enough to lose any game.
  22. As for the sentiment the Bears had no business winning this game, the yardage was even, the time of possession was even, the Bears had more first downs, it was simply an even game. The Bears had just as much business winning this game as the Falcons. Stupid squib kicks when the opposing team just needs field position. Stupid soft zone protection when the team needs a quick deep out.
  23. I'm not sure on which planet the Falcons have dominated the game. Kept it even, for sure.
  24. There's got to be room somewhere in between a total domination and a loss. Isn't that enough to describe what happened the last two years?
  25. So yeah, I'm actually deciding between Peyton Manning vs. Baltimore or Kyle Orton at Atlanta. No, seriously. Still leaning Manning but it's actually getting difficult.
