  1. After Howard, who is an all-star caliber center? Lopez, Bogut, maybe Bynum would be better options than Noah? Does Duncan count as a center too? I guess it depends on your definition of center. There aren't many guys who play traditional center anymore, but it's not like the all star teams have requirements that you have to play a certain % of minutes inside the paint to make the team. Lee, Howard, Horford, Bosh, and Garnett were the frontcourt players to make the team from the East last year. I don't see Noah as being on any of their levels (Even with Garnett's decrepitness) On a level of efficiency, Noah trailed only Howard, Bosh, Lee and Bogut among all bigs in the East, and was basically even with Garnett (Noah led slightly). Granted, that doesn't really take much defense into account aside from rebounding, and the Knicks were built to be nothing if not statistically efficient at the cost of defense, but Noah is at least in the discussion after Howard and Bosh at this point. Whether he can stay healthy with the foot issues, though, is another problem all together.

  3. Considering there was an injury during injury time, and a yellow for time wasting, it was right to give additional time.
  4. Well that should make it a little interesting yet.
  5. to be fair, how many world cups have been played anywhere but Europe or South America? Since they expanded to 32 teams, 4 have been in Europe, 2 in North America, 1 in Asia, and 1 in Africa. Since they expanded to 32 teams, there have been just the 2 in Europe, 1 in Asia and 1 in Africa. USA 1994 was still 24 teams (The US advanced despite being 3rd in their group).
  6. to be fair, how many world cups have been played anywhere but Europe or South America? Five away from both, but there have been plenty in South America too.
  7. Now that was a good header.
  8. Hard to say whether Van Persie was involved in the play.
  9. Damn it, Dutch, quit diving and play soccer.
  10. I think the thing that annoys me the most about Hendry is that he never really built a team for long-term success. Each season, he'd look to catch lightning in a bottle with his plan-du-jour of the year, and it worked...twice? It's not that the teams performed poorly, it's more that so many of the teams predictably performed poorly.
  11. Part of me thinks the US should be playing in this game. The other part of me thinks Forlan could net a hat trick against the US defensive line.
  12. Looked like a late jump from Stecklenberg, but you can't give Forlan that much space when nobody else is going to beat you.
  13. Robben is really starting to piss me off with the theatrics.
  14. Wow, that was some kind of shot.
  15. Well, at the beginning of this process, I would've considered the worst case scenario giving a max contract (or even worse, sign and trade for a worse max contract) to Joe Johnson, so at least that's not happening. Sure, he's a good shooter, and he'd probably be valuable as such for at least a year more, but the years of a max contract were what concerned me. If it ends up being just Boozer + some guards who can actually shoot (Redick/Morrow/Allen), they wouldn't be a favorite in the East but they could very well be a contender. Still disappointing, but not the disaster it'd be if Miami/NJ/NY didn't end up with anybody big.
  16. As another perspective on the matter, here's a Fangraphs article on what could be expected from Colvin (and Boesch) going forward.
  17. I'd like to see if the Cubs could interest Tampa in one of their pitchers (Lilly/Demp/Silva) + some cash in exchange for whichever of Rodriguez/Brignac they'd consider the most extraneous.
  18. If James does end up signing with Chicago, I'm pretty sure almost every Cleveland fan would forever burn with hatred about it. There'd be no going back. After all the times the Bulls have been in the way of every decent Cavs team, this would be the last straw.
  19. I'm curious just how many such teams you could make before Omar Infante made the roster.
  20. Worst all-star selection of all time? He's the 45th highest scoring 3B in the league, and he's not even a regular on his own team. Heck, he's never been picked up by any of our teams at any point this year.
  21. I'd agree with your point more if Omar Infante was selected by fans.

    Week 14

After 2 pitches (which counts as a start, yay), Harang left with an injury, becoming the 8th player on my team to hit the DL this year. I replaced him with Gorzo. EDIT: Also looking for a productive SS since the Brewers benched mine (well, he wasn't productive).

    week 13

Apparently Cabrera went from out for the foreseeable future to in the lineup after about 10 hours, so I'll be putting him back in tomorrow.
  24. with the team he has. i said lebron needs more. I know this is going to turn into an argument but.. The Cavs have more than the Bulls do in talent right now. It's a silly argument to make, especially in a Bulls thread. It's completely subjective, nobody will agree with you, and it's impossible to prove anything, especially when the Bulls currently have a roster of 6.

    week 13

I guess I'd consider it similar to a "benching", since the decision was made mid-week by the team. Since a benching is a valid reason for a replacement, I don't have a problem with it.
