  1. Giving up too many easy chances here in the 3rd.
  2. Atlanta is 9-2 Thank you and Thank you. Sorry about that. Also, Houston is 5-6. While we're at it, Chicago is 8-3 and Green Bay is 7-4.
  3. Same on CBSSportsline. For the sake of griping, I will gripe about the Steelers being ahead of the Bears. The common games between them and the Bears are Miami and Buffalo. Steelers beat Miami by 1 thanks to a ruling worse than the Bears win over Detroit. Took them til OT to beat the Bills. Bears beat the Dolphins 16-0 and the Bills by a TD. Also, I'd be willing to bet that the Bears don't get wiped out at home vs. NE as the Steelers did. Steelers only wins vs. teams above .500? Miami- see above Tampa- who is only over .500 because of their weak schedule. Fewer quality wins + less impressive common game wins = Bears should be ahead. Probably won't change much though...Steelers have a really light schedule left...Jets are really the only team worth a damn left for them. Didn't the Steelers make Atlanta look bad in week 2?
  4. Grant Wahl handicaps the World Cup '18 and '22 bid chances. I don't understand why he thinks Qatar has a better chance than Australia, though.
  5. Yeah, really hoping that last game in Green Bay isn't for a single playoff spot.
  6. Of the seven teams ahead of them, who do you put behind them? I could see New Orleans...possibly. Utah had a better week. I don't know, I just wanted to bitch about power rankings like I do for every sport every week. They are all slighting my teams. I didn't really look at the other teams. Bulls are #5 in Hollinger's ratings. Are the Heat still #1 in Sagrin? They dropped all the way to 9th in Hollinger's Heat are #4 in Sagarin's. I posted them in the NBA thread. Bulls 8th, behind everyone in Stein's rankings minus Utah plus Miami.
  7. Updated Sagarin predictor ratings: 1. San Antonio Spurs - 97.52 2. Boston Celtics - 96.56 3. Los Angeles Lakers - 96.21 4. Miami Heat - 96.21 5. Dallas Mavericks - 96.16 6. New Orleans Hornets - 95.14 7. Orlando Magic - 94.90 8. Chicago Bulls - 93.95 9. Denver Nuggets - 93.73 10. Indiana Pacers - 93.44 11. Utah Jazz - 93.30 12. Atlanta Hawks - 91.29 13. Oklahoma City Thunder - 90.66 14. Portland Trail Blazers - 90.52 15. Phoenix Suns - 89.54 16. Milwaukee Bucks - 89.43 17. Charlotte Bobcats - 89.05 18. Houston Rockets - 88.23 19. Memphis Grizzlies - 88.19 20. New York Knicks - 87.93 21. Philadelphia 76ers - 87.70 22. Toronto Raptors - 87.66 23. New Jersey Nets - 86.48 24. Cleveland Cavaliers - 85.63 25. Golden State Warriors - 85.41 26. Detroit Pistons - 84.81 27. Los Angeles Clippers - 83.44 28. Washington Wizards - 83.34 29. Minnesota Timberwolves - 81.85 30. Sacramento Kings - 81.52

  9. Hopefully, this year Illinois won't lose on a hail mary tipped 2-point conversion to an offensive lineman.
  10. Yesterday's win actually improves the Bears to 3-1 against winning teams this year. Only the Falcons and Patriots have done better.
  11. I'm not sure I can name 5 teams at this point worse than any NFC West team. Carolina, sure. Maybe Denver, Cincy or Buffalo. That'd be it, though.
  12. Yes, those are justifications for having doubts about the Bears, but they aren't justification for ignoring other quality wins and pretending they can't possibly be better than those games indicated. Oh I agree. No doubt. But the quality wins were always met with "BUT" - But Dallas turned out to be a bad team - But the Vikings turned out to be a bad team - But the Packers had 14 penalties. - But Miami was down to a 3rd string QB and backup OL It's all BS, but just playing devil's advocate. One thing that bothers me about that Packers' game: The special teams' difference was a complete blowout, which counts, but also, the Bears had (I think) 8 chances from the opposing 1 yard line and ended up with 3 total points. Rodgers played practically a perfect game. And the game wasn't lopsided in spite of all that.
  13. The Pats lost by nearly 3 TD's on the road in Cleveland. They aren't unbeatable. And neither GB or Chi plays NYG this season...unless I'm misunderstanding your post? The Bears already played NYG. The Packers play them later.
  14. If both Oregon and Auburn lose, it's a complete disaster for the BCS, and one of the championship teams is going to be TCU then, anyway.
  15. The first teams have been mathematically eliminated this week, as Carolina, Detroit, Buffalo and Cincinnati are out of the playoff race.
  16. Or, in truth, he's the exact opposite of Jay Cutler in every way imaginable. So Jay doesn't lead game winning last minute drives like he did last week? Mark Sanchez is a "game manager" QB with a below average throwing arm that succeeds because his team schemes around his deficiencies and his offensive roster (line, RBs) gives him time to make good decisions. Jay Cutler has a fantastic throwing arm that succeeds despite his team's offensive deficiencies that allow him about a half second to make any decisions. There's not much point in discussing this with you, honestly, because you have a complete lack of perspective on Cutler's ability (and, apparently, Sanchez's ability too).
  17. Or, in truth, he's the exact opposite of Jay Cutler in every way imaginable.
  18. Do you consider Ken Whisenhunt, Bill Callahan, Tom Coughlin, Andy Reid, Mike Martz and Lovie Smith to be fantastic coaches, then?
  19. Maybe I missed a recent trade, but I could've sworn Derrick Rose was on the Bulls.
  20. When you have a three score lead in the fourth quarter, there's no such thing as running the ball too much. Before that, the offense was clicking on all cylinders for 3 quarters on the way to 31 points.
  21. Rose is actually performing half-way decent as an on-the-ball defender. He's not very good at fighting through screens or on help defense, though.
  22. 11.8 yards per attempt. that's efficiency right there. jay is the only qb that would have us in this position. I don't know, I think Peyton Manning would have the Bears in the same position, likely. Brady, Rodgers, Vick, Ryan, Rivers, and maybe Sanchez too. Cutler played great. Maybe his best game as a Bear, but I don't think he was the only guy who could do that. Maybe Sanchez? Your view of Cutler is way off. I'd probably take Vick and Ryan off that list for sure, too.

  24. Hey, at least the Monday night game between two 3-7 teams will be meaningful, because the winner is just a game out of first.
  25. The game wasn't nearly as close as the final score. It was over midway through the third quarter.
